I just got one . I really like it enough ammo for 3 reloads. I can't make up my mind if the ammo should be in front of the shotgun or to the back next to the stock. I guess it doesn't really matter.
Depends how you carry it, but I’d say to the stock. Hell, I’d wear 2 bandoliers across my body with one across the waist if I didn’t have a duffle bag spare.
I agree that a side and stock saddle with a sling with AMMO is overkill and heavy as FCK! But the sling wit the ammo is necessary without everything else! Also I two couldn’t decided what was the best way to put the sling. I went with ammo end to the back by the stock. Once the shotgun is shouldered they weight is not noticeable any longer but in the front that is a problem
it's not that bad, mine has a 25 shell ammo sling, a 6 shell, shell card on receiver and 6 shell, shell card on the buttstock, and 9 shells in the gun fully loaded and it's not really that bad, plus the sling I have is so padded it it doesn't bother while carrying and not too heavy to shoot
The sling is great for carrying ammo that’s what I mainly use it for and if you have to use it as a sling you can do that too . I see the shotgun as a tool more then anything so the complaints about weight is for the weak be smarter then your sling man lol ❤❤🎉🎉
I have pretty much the same setup. Except I don't have the plastic side saddle. The pins wouldn't go into the slots immediately so I had to use a drill to just wear away a little paint.
If someone would make that sling, with standard swivels on either end, they'd sell twice as many... But that gym bag strap claw system they use, just sucks.
Sorry, not a good idea. All defensive long guns should have a sling, yes, but the weight of the ammo makes it a hindrance to effective handling. Not just my opinion, consult many experts.
That sling is stupid heavy. You are not going to be able to effectively manipulate that shotgun with three pounds of shells on the sling. Get a shell carrier that attaches to your belt or a shell carrier vest. Keep your gun as light and balanced as possible so you can work it. JMHO
It's a matter of balance, not strength . Not that strength does not matter, but what do I know? I'm just a former soldier, retired federal law enforcement officer, and a federal firearms instructor. I'm sure you know better. Try not to be butthurt. Constructive criticism is not intended to be a personal attack. A sling is neccessary on a shotgun, or any long gun. It's purpose is to free up your hands when you need to, not to carry extra ammo. A simple basic nylon sling is ideal for that purpose. Your ammo belongs in a side saddle, which you properly use. Extra ammo needs to be accessible, but not tangled up in your gun. Belt mounted, or vest mounted. Best wishes brother.

The weight of the shells throws off the aim. A little less so if they are in the back but still noticeable.

The good ole zombie setup lol. Also nice to see another H&R user
Ready for it.

Good setup.
I bought one but the weight of the shells swings and throws off the aim.
If you tighten up the sling it shouldn’t swing while you are firing.
Nice setup (thumbs up)
I think it's backwards from the intended direction

I agree

They are good to hold one reload. I’ve never seen anyone have anymore than that.. unless they are trying to look like call of duty.
How heavy did it get??
A bit heavier but I find worth it's weight.
What shot gun it that?
Pardner pump

If you're gonna operate a shotgun you better work on arm strength so that 3lbs doesn't change anything but options.

@@burstreviews8336 It isnt the weight it is the swinging of the weight
I hear you man I think you’re right, however I think this sling has utility. Great for a “stand and fight” situation imo
Just a thought
Adds to much weight to an already heavy gun. Larger side saddle. If I'm carry that many rnds its on extra velcro side saddles and an ammo belt.
