That monkey is a daredevil for walking on the edge while the wind blows towards that direction. The backside is indeed vicious as it held up much better than I thought.
WOW!!! Just absolutely incredible, James! That back-half was totally INSANE, complete whiteout, and all in day time too!!! Another brilliant intercept, congratulations!
This certainly ranks amongst the big Taiwan storm I’ve witnessed almost with Nepartak (the greatest,) Dujuan, Sinlaku, Sepat and Haikui last month was solid!
That’s not necessarily true - it depends on a few factors including core structure and terrain. Usually the front right quadrant in northern hemisphere contains strongest winds

Thanks so much Paul!

Thanks so much Michael!! Was a real close call this one but all the stars aligned thankfully. The back end sure did pack a punch
Astonishing punch in the second half! Having palms trees in the frame really help to capture the fury of the winds.
Thanks so much Jose! Coconut palm will ALWAYS be my favorite tree and they really are a great “anemometer” for TC winds
Terrific video of ferocious typhoon, James! Congrats on a very successful chase!👍😊
Thank you so much Pam!
Brilliant footage James, hope everything is good with you
Thanks David and all is well!
Fantastic 💪. You had a great spot to view/feel it all happening!
That kid's playground by the pool is real quality build. Stay safe, James.
Taiwan is safe
That is probably some of the most intense wind you have experienced in Taiwan since Nepartak
This certainly ranks amongst the big Taiwan storm I’ve witnessed almost with Nepartak (the greatest,) Dujuan, Sinlaku, Sepat and Haikui last month was solid!
typhoon Haiyan Yolanda
(315-378 kph)
typhoon Koinu Jenny
(254-315 kph)
Incredible! Fantastic work, James.
Thanks so much Tony!
Absolutely terrific job by you Sir, hats off to you 👉
The back side of any major tropical storm has proven to be the worst. SS/E Eyewall especially!
That’s not necessarily true - it depends on a few factors including core structure and terrain. Usually the front right quadrant in northern hemisphere contains strongest winds
Stunning !! Solid high end 3/probably 4 in the second eyeball !
Thanks so much Palm! A pleasure to track this beast with you as always
Awesome footage 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Thank you!!
If I remember correctly, in this scene you intercepted super storm Meranti in 2016 🎉
YES! I knew I didnt go crazy
Same spot I chased Meranti though Koinu was stronger
手機不錯👍這麼大的風雨也不怕進水❤是什麼牌子的啊?
The biggest wind this time is 95.2m/s
Great works. Please consider buying a wind meter with wind direction and show the readings to the audiences. Thanks!!:)
Gotta respect Mother Nature. These are the forces that shape and continue to reshape the planet.
I wonder how they name typhoons

看來屏東和台東風比較大
This is actually a very good thing for Taiwan. I hope October is unusually stormy
