I love how Maleficent is reacting to this plan. She doesn't suffer fools, especially when it's her fate on the line and while she is not at all a fan of this new plan, she still acknowledges rank and authority. She questions and cautions their plan, while insulting the fools of no title. Poise and conduct. She knows the best plans are thought out, taken time. She waited 16 years for her curse, she knows how to bide and wait, not rush in as the others seem to because of Ursula's involvement.

He's probably concerned that Ursula's plan could go haywire because of Hades and since he's aware of the Underworld he might also be terrified of who else could follow Hades out of the river styx.

I think the most hilarious moments of this episode are when Maleficent says: "Is it not the same mirror that named Snow White fairest of them all?" And Cruella says: "Time is running out, darling! Tick tock, tick tock, tick" And Captain Hook says: PLEASE! don't do that..
Maleficent being the voice of reason is honestly something I both expect and yet never expect. At this point, I'm more invested in your videos coming out than in anything Hollywood, Disney, ect. has to offer. The costumes, the sets, the acting, it's all just too amazing.
The fact Grimhilda said she had ‘no intention of making _another_ deal with [Ursula]’ is interesting because, in my opinion, it suggests that there is much more to this story than meets the eye.
Maleficent and the Evil Queen's interaction ("Curious. Curious Indeed.") was so deeply in character and such a good representation of how the two characters would likely be in competition.
I absolutely LOVE this series. Gothel looks and sounds like she was pulled right out of the movie. She's my favorite disney villain after all. Her "Anticipating!!" at the end was amazing!!

Judge Frollo: Fell off Notre Dame to fire and burned. Queen of Hearts: . . . Actually, I'm not sure if she got defeated at all, since Alice woke up escaping Wonderland and her Wrath. But maybe, just maybe, All of Wonderland ceased to exist when Alice woke up. I don't know, Wonderland is weird.
As always, Layne and Tony outdid themselves. I've seen the first episode as a patreon of theirs and everyone who hasn't seen it yet, is in for such a treat! It has everything! An new original song (that is so good!!), amazing new and improved costumes, a magical and ominous new set, and a storyline that makes you hunger for more. I think they change the actress this season? She didn't sing that much but so far it didn't seem like the same person. At first I thought it was because they changed the way they did her makeup but I don't think they even sound the same
Frollo: If there's one thing I've learned, it's to always use a buffoon for the grunt work. My last Captain was bit of a disappointment to me. Should this plan with the sundial work, I hope to whip him back into shape.
YES! I'm both excited and relieved to see this series back. I was worried for a long while. This endeavor inspired me to make a Disney villains themed epic D&D campaign to run with my family. Complete with "What Goes Around" among its many remixed songs.

It’s a concept I got from a fan game called “Disney Villains Victorious.” The idea, and the one I’m using for my game, is that it’s set on “Earth” but where all of the Disney Villains won or achieved their goals in some form or fashion and now the entire planet is divided into “Lands” each controlled by a “King.” The Middle East, all of it, falls under Sorcerer Sultan Jafar, France is contested between Maleficent and Immortalis Pontifex Frolo, Germany is controlled by the nigh omniscient Evil Queen Grimhilde, Ursula controls all of the oceans etc. etc. The players have to team up to navigate this world firmly in the grip of evil, and maybe one day grow strong enough to oppose the Kings. But even defeating one will be a monumental undertaking and the more they do, the greater attention they draw to themselves.

I'm willing to bet that the cauldron would need a sacrifice to reactivate and Maleficent suspects that, which is why she is so cautious in regards to that, a room full of powerful evil souls would be a tempting treat for the cauldron, so she is going to let the others go first and later on when it does happen she can say "I told you so" and assert herself among the survivors as the "smartest" and most worthy to lead.

Interesting character growth. So Maleficent, Mistress of All Evil, is weary, some might even say fearful, of the Black Cauldon. Makes one wonder how close she might have known the original king who lies sealed with the black metal bowl and the Horned King, the last king who adempted to use the legendary item. Seems that both the Evil Queen and Maleficent have history with the 3 Witches of Molva. Im so happy Season 2 has finally begun. So worth the wait. Episode 1 did not disappoint at all. I also like how many of the characters have new looks about them.

That's true! My guess is hades resurrected them like he did to jafar in the Hercules Aladdin crossover but I'm still unsure as according to facilier Hades was still lost in the river Styx!
Maybe the Disney villains are kind of like the monsters in the 'Percy Jackson' series; They can be killed, but only stay dead for a little while before returning.
I'm unsure he was the only villain from the finale other than Vanessa not in this episode but I'm 100 percent certain he'll be in this series he is gonna be on a live with gothel and Maleficent tomorrow (I can't wait to see Maleficent argue with Facillier!) and he was in the villains lair patron ad on TH-cam so I'm sure we'll see him soon maybe with Ursula/Vanessa?

The song alone, "It's not Over Yet," really is a strong follow up to "What Goes Around." The twinkling melody and blaring horns really add this sense of oncoming dread. Like that evil had its nose smacked and now it's coming back and this time it's not only motivated, it's angry and personally offended.

This is amazing. The song is hauntingly perfect. The casting is flawless. This is exactly what we should be getting from Disney, especially with D+ 🙄 The "how" the Villains exist post movie events is genius & leaves room to play. Thank you for giving us what Disney fails to do!
I am willing to bet this is going to go surprisingly poorly, considering how much Maleficent was warning them about going after the Cauldron. It's honestly kind of funny how they all blame and totally just threaten Cruella. It's nice to see the villains disagreeing so much and figuring out a new plan.
Well, Cruella did know about Ursula and Facilier plotting and did not say anything to the others. The same goes for Gothel, Gaston and Yzma. Now that they all have their vengence threatened by Ursula, that puts them on the same boat as the other villains so they are trying to do whatever they can to compensate for their indiscreption. The problem is villains are not so forgiven.
It could also be because Cruella was the only one of the four to have spilled that she had prior knowledge of Dr. Facilier's betrayal. Mother Gothel denied any involvement with Ursula, Gaston refused to speak anything of it, and Yzma wasn't even there, so yeah, Cruella kind of ousted herself. Mind you, you'd think that the rest of the villains would've just pardoned Cruella for her admission, but nah, they're villains, whomever admits it first gets the sole blame. Poor Cruella XD.
@@2gredvisions8560 Yeah, Gothel did admit that she didn't know that was Ursula in disguise. And Gaston is not very bright, so, with Yzma not there to answer for their indiscreption, Cruella was the one to get the blame.

He 100% scared me more as a kid than any of the other Disney villains, because his power wasn't based in fantasy magic forces but in great temporal power, egomania, personal manipulation and systemic prejudice, all of which we really see IRL all the time, being misused by socipathic leaders to oppress others?
2:11, I don't know why but I just love this frame. I think it's because of the fact that it's the first cut to happen while the Evil Queen is talking (ranting 😜). It sort of highlights the fact that both Lady Tremaine (in the foreground) and Maleficent (in the background) are the second and third Disney Princess Villains respectively who came after the Queen. And given that there were several other moments throughout this episode where it has shots of these two together, it equally alludes to the fact that both characters were voiced by the same voice actress, Eleanor Audley, in their original films. I am just loving this episode and continuing to love this series ❤! The new outfits for this season look great, especially for Lady Tremaine and Mother Gothel. Keep up the great work everybody!
7:52 to 8:13, Yes! We're finally going to see Hans! I'm just as excited to have him join the series as Gaston did in episode 3 of season 1. Also, I always shipped Drizella with Hans and the same for Anastasia before she turned good and fell in love with the Baker.
this was beyond amazing, loved the song and just hearing ursula's voice echoing across the sea. the black cauldron now their is an idea. i can't wait to see how the three witches will look like, and this explains Hans part in the story. oh i never been so excited can't wait for episode two.

The three witches in question are the Witches of Morva from Disney's the Black Cauldron. Their names are Orddu, Orwen and Orgoch. They're actually neutral characters in this movie.

Something I just thought about, Gothel suggested tempting the Witches of Morva with the Magic Mirror. Gothel was also one of the ones who initially helped Ursula, alongside Cruella and Gaston, only the former of which seemed to be punished. Given Gothel's age (quite possibly over one thousand years old) she'd have plenty of time to learn how to manipulate people effectively as well as learning patience. It could be that she's secretly acting against the Evil Queen, helping Ursula in season one, now possibly trying to remove the mirror from the Queen's possession.
Maleficent's and Evil Queen's sining voices are incredbile. Perfect acting and all truly killed it. Just super talented you rock keep going we love you
What a great way to start season 2! This song perfectly sets the mood for villains; they may have lost the battle, but the war is far from over. Fingers crossed we see the Horned King!
HELL YEAH!!! THE MOST FEARSOME VILLAIN EVER CREATED BY TIM BURTON!!! Yes, he was made by Tim Burton, but Disney didn't credit him. This is a part of the reason why he left Disney.
Yeah The Horned King is too beloved by fans to exclude. That being said the Horned King is also the vilest villain in Disney animation history so he probably would immediately plan to kill all of them.

So, I've been fan of these series like 3 months straight now, and I have a feeling that this is gonna be the best Disney Villains series that exists. I think Disney should absolutely see this, because actors are so talented, the sets are made with pure skill, costumes are absolutely amazing and songs are absolutely the best. How to start off your second season with a bang: a kickass new song, the promise of a live action Hades, and a plot that centers around story elements from the Black Cauldron. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; you guys are doing way better with these characters than Disney is! Glad to see they haven’t struck you down!

Wow! Season 2 of the Villains Lair is starting off with a bang! It's wonderful to see all of the original cast back. So... Hades, Prince Hans, and the Horned King! I think we are all in for some amazing storytelling. One thing, though, Mother Gothel's hair is less floofy than normal. Did she just finish washing her hair?
I thought it was because since she can no longer rely on Rapunzel's incantation to keep her young, she is using another method, one that doesn't last as long, and the magic is probably wearing off by now.

Theory time: I think Ursula was banished because she tried to take away the powers and/or the life force of the other villains by way of deceptive contracts. The Evil Queen said that she had "no intention of making another deal with her," [2:22] meaning that they had a deal in the past. It makes me wonder what the deal was and if the other villains bargained with Ursula.
@The Secret Side Now I ponder what method was used to resurrect the villains. It wasn't the cauldron, and Hades is dead, so he was unavailable. Who else possesses the power to bring back the dead?

I don't have the words. This start of season 2 is absolutely incredible! First of all, I didn't expect the script to be so developed and complex, it's a pleasant surprise! Hades, Hans, the Horned King, that promises to be amazing! I also want to congratulate and thank all the actors who do a fabulous job, they all play their roles perfectly. I love the fact that each villain has their own unique facial expressions and gestures. They really bring the characters to live. Well done also for their vocal performances for the song! I can't wait to see what this season 2 has in store for us, and for now we can say that it starts strong
I know the Villains are bad (or even evil), but I am quite surprised that their hate could even drive them to resort to dangerous methods like finding a cauldron that hosts the demonic spirit of a mad king that even the deities fear. But it goes to show that's what makes some villains different. Some villains choose to let go of hate and reform, thus earning their happy ending. Some (such as those in the old broken castle who are currently at war with Ursula) find it extremely hard to let go, and go mad as a result.
Maleficent coming for the Evil Queen herself, SAVAGE and jus PURE BLISS. She's just that kinda of friend or alley who can tell you off like it is and be quite snarky and cunning in a chill smooth majestic wicked fashion. That's probably why her and The Evil Queen can still get along and be friends even, despite their differences.

Imo Ursula is the only one she really perceives as equal in power and weaving nets of lies and intrigues.

The idea, and the one I’m using for my game, is that it’s set on “Earth” but where all of the Disney Villains won or achieved their goals in some form or fashion and now the entire planet is divided into “Lands” each controlled by a “King.”
The Middle East, all of it, falls under Sorcerer Sultan Jafar, France is contested between Maleficent and Immortalis Pontifex Frolo, Germany is controlled by the nigh omniscient Evil Queen Grimhilde, Ursula controls all of the oceans etc. etc.
The players have to team up to navigate this world firmly in the grip of evil, and maybe one day grow strong enough to oppose the Kings. But even defeating one will be a monumental undertaking and the more they do, the greater attention they draw to themselves.

I'm willing to bet that the cauldron would need a sacrifice to reactivate and Maleficent suspects that, which is why she is so cautious in regards to that, a room full of powerful evil souls would be a tempting treat for the cauldron, so she is going to let the others go first and later on when it does happen she can say "I told you so" and assert herself among the survivors as the "smartest" and most worthy to lead.

Interesting character growth. So Maleficent, Mistress of All Evil, is weary, some might even say fearful, of the Black Cauldon. Makes one wonder how close she might have known the original king who lies sealed with the black metal bowl and the Horned King, the last king who adempted to use the legendary item. Seems that both the Evil Queen and Maleficent have history with the 3 Witches of Molva. Im so happy Season 2 has finally begun. So worth the wait. Episode 1 did not disappoint at all. I also like how many of the characters have new looks about them.

Maybe the Disney villains are kind of like the monsters in the 'Percy Jackson' series; They can be killed, but only stay dead for a little while before returning.
I'm unsure he was the only villain from the finale other than Vanessa not in this episode but I'm 100 percent certain he'll be in this series he is gonna be on a live with gothel and Maleficent tomorrow (I can't wait to see Maleficent argue with Facillier!) and he was in the villains lair patron ad on TH-cam so I'm sure we'll see him soon maybe with Ursula/Vanessa?

The song alone, "It's not Over Yet," really is a strong follow up to "What Goes Around." The twinkling melody and blaring horns really add this sense of oncoming dread. Like that evil had its nose smacked and now it's coming back and this time it's not only motivated, it's angry and personally offended.

I am willing to bet this is going to go surprisingly poorly, considering how much Maleficent was warning them about going after the Cauldron. It's honestly kind of funny how they all blame and totally just threaten Cruella. It's nice to see the villains disagreeing so much and figuring out a new plan.
Well, Cruella did know about Ursula and Facilier plotting and did not say anything to the others. The same goes for Gothel, Gaston and Yzma. Now that they all have their vengence threatened by Ursula, that puts them on the same boat as the other villains so they are trying to do whatever they can to compensate for their indiscreption. The problem is villains are not so forgiven.

It could also be because Cruella was the only one of the four to have spilled that she had prior knowledge of Dr. Facilier's betrayal. Mother Gothel denied any involvement with Ursula, Gaston refused to speak anything of it, and Yzma wasn't even there, so yeah, Cruella kind of ousted herself. Mind you, you'd think that the rest of the villains would've just pardoned Cruella for her admission, but nah, they're villains, whomever admits it first gets the sole blame. Poor Cruella XD.

2:11, I don't know why but I just love this frame. I think it's because of the fact that it's the first cut to happen while the Evil Queen is talking (ranting 😜). It sort of highlights the fact that both Lady Tremaine (in the foreground) and Maleficent (in the background) are the second and third Disney Princess Villains respectively who came after the Queen. And given that there were several other moments throughout this episode where it has shots of these two together, it equally alludes to the fact that both characters were voiced by the same voice actress, Eleanor Audley, in their original films. I am just loving this episode and continuing to love this series ❤! The new outfits for this season look great, especially for Lady Tremaine and Mother Gothel. Keep up the great work everybody!

Something I just thought about, Gothel suggested tempting the Witches of Morva with the Magic Mirror. Gothel was also one of the ones who initially helped Ursula, alongside Cruella and Gaston, only the former of which seemed to be punished. Given Gothel's age (quite possibly over one thousand years old) she'd have plenty of time to learn how to manipulate people effectively as well as learning patience. It could be that she's secretly acting against the Evil Queen, helping Ursula in season one, now possibly trying to remove the mirror from the Queen's possession.
Maleficent's and Evil Queen's sining voices are incredbile. Perfect acting and all truly killed it. Just super talented you rock keep going we love you

How to start off your second season with a bang: a kickass new song, the promise of a live action Hades, and a plot that centers around story elements from the Black Cauldron. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; you guys are doing way better with these characters than Disney is! Glad to see they haven’t struck you down!

Wow! Season 2 of the Villains Lair is starting off with a bang! It's wonderful to see all of the original cast back. So... Hades, Prince Hans, and the Horned King! I think we are all in for some amazing storytelling. One thing, though, Mother Gothel's hair is less floofy than normal. Did she just finish washing her hair?

Theory time: I think Ursula was banished because she tried to take away the powers and/or the life force of the other villains by way of deceptive contracts. The Evil Queen said that she had "no intention of making another deal with her," [2:22] meaning that they had a deal in the past. It makes me wonder what the deal was and if the other villains bargained with Ursula.

@The Secret Side Now I ponder what method was used to resurrect the villains. It wasn't the cauldron, and Hades is dead, so he was unavailable. Who else possesses the power to bring back the dead?
@@alexanderharrison3912 Oh, crap that’s true. Unless the queen just used all the dark magic possible to revive Maleficent and, well Maleficent can bring back the mortal villains quite easily. And obviously, a god figure is far more difficult that reviving the lower level (compared to Hades at least) villains.

I would love to see Medusa from The Rescuers in this, maybe Cruella and her could be friends/enemies/any kind of relationship because Cruella was supposed to be the villain in The Rescuers but they decided to just make a completely new character (which is Medusa)

I don't have the words. This start of season 2 is absolutely incredible!
First of all, I didn't expect the script to be so developed and complex, it's a pleasant surprise! Hades, Hans, the Horned King, that promises to be amazing!
I also want to congratulate and thank all the actors who do a fabulous job, they all play their roles perfectly. I love the fact that each villain has their own unique facial expressions and gestures. They really bring the characters to live. Well done also for their vocal performances for the song!
I can't wait to see what this season 2 has in store for us, and for now we can say that it starts strong
I know the Villains are bad (or even evil), but I am quite surprised that their hate could even drive them to resort to dangerous methods like finding a cauldron that hosts the demonic spirit of a mad king that even the deities fear. But it goes to show that's what makes some villains different. Some villains choose to let go of hate and reform, thus earning their happy ending. Some (such as those in the old broken castle who are currently at war with Ursula) find it extremely hard to let go, and go mad as a result.
Maleficent coming for the Evil Queen herself, SAVAGE and jus PURE BLISS. She's just that kinda of friend or alley who can tell you off like it is and be quite snarky and cunning in a chill smooth majestic wicked fashion. That's probably why her and The Evil Queen can still get along and be friends even, despite their differences.

@jf k one of is an understatement The Horned King literally went a bar above every villain before or after him which is attempted omnicide which means the eradication of all life in a universe if not the destruction of the universe itself.
