First I love the song you used in the episode. Secondly was great watching the snorkeling and both Mima and I like that kind of shopping. However, for your first trip to Bonaire (I think), I think you should have taken an island your. We loved the one we took and I was fascinated with the salt flats and process. Wow. Thanks for sharing your experience. This is an amazing way to live life. We(6) well sailing this cruise in February 2025. We are very excited. I'll be looking for excursions. Do you have a video on where to stay the night before? We are coming from the Atlanta Georgia area. We will probably fly in the day before. I'll purchase flights at the beginning of March. Thank you! I appreciate you watching! The water and snorkeling in Bonaire is some of the best we have seen as far coral. There were not as many fish that day but we were told that was unusual. I highly recommend a snorkeling excursion in Bonaire along Klein Island. Beyond the shallow shore lines the depth of the ocean floor between the shore of Bonaire and Klein Island is over 3000 feet! You can actually see the floor fall off the cliffs under water.. It was a little unnerving! If you stayed too close to the shore the current would push you into the reef.. it was a thrilling time! Wow! Loved this vlog! We went to Bonaire back in 2016 and are planning a trip again later this year. My most favorite place to snorkel; the sealife is amazing! Oh my, your snorkeling pics brought back such good memories. We just snorkeled from the beach at most places (we stayed at Sand Dollar Condos-which you would have walked right by going to meet the boat!) but may have to take a trip to Klein Bonaire next time.

Was the water cold? You looked uncomfortable at first. Beautiful island, we'll be cruising Horizon in April 2024 with the kids and can't wait.
Hi, yes it was quite chilly for me but keep in mind I am always cold. Our guide was the same as me so she was chilly, too. The others in our group were not cold at all. I do find that once I get moving and get my heart rate up a bit I am not as uncomfortable but I am still cold. I always bring a towel and jacket and sometimes a sweatshirt to put on to warm up if I can't sit in the sun. Hugs!

Your video was very good. Excursions seemed to be a little expensive but you had fun. Would you recommend them opposed to the cruise ship excursions?
Hi. Private excursions can be more expensive depending on what you set up with the company. In our case we chose a more elaborate tour with the company and we chose to only have four of us. Normally there would be up to 20 people on this tour bringing the cost down significantly per person. I can't say if I would recommend the private tour over a ships tour in Bonaire since this was our first time on the island and we have not done any ship excursions previously. We have been on some pretty amazing ship tours and some serviceable but nothing special. There can be a lot of people but we have had some small groups as well. I love ship excursions and we have no problem choosing and booking them. If there is a port where time is short we will almost always book a ships excursion. A private excursion can usually be set up to be exactly what you want without a large group and they usually move along faster allowing for more time for whatever is planned making them worth a little more to me. Hi. I do still collect them- I usually talk about that in the sneak peeks (th-cam.com/video/vrhcu49I_NM/w-d-xo.html). They are only available on select Carnival ships in the onboard shops. I recommend you visit the stores on shore, that is where I have the best luck. Hugs!

Do you have to each buy a soda package.
Hi. If you mean does each person in a cabin have to buy a soda package if one person buys it then the answer is, no they do not. Unlike the Cheers package if there are four people in a cabin and only one wants to buy the soda package that is just fine nobody else has to buy the package. I rarely get the soda package and Robert usually gets it every time. Hope that answered your question. Hugs!

Would you say the excursion was ok for school-aged kids?
I would think so IF you have someone with them that could watch them carefully while snorkeling.. the coral is sharp and hard and easily cuts or scrapes the skin in the shallow water and on the other side it is over 300 feet deep. So life vests and a good swimmer with them! Hugs!
