My white turkey named Opal was approximately eighteen months old when she passed. These type of turkeys usually die from cardiovascular disease because they’re so broad chested. Remington lived a beautiful life and was blessed to have been rescued by the fantastic Uncle Ben. Thank you for saving animals and loving them beyond words.
The metabolism and healing capabilities of Crocodilians never ceases to amaze me, that sweet scaly boy went from weak, skinny and lethargic to snappy, peppy and happy.
All thanks to you, Uncle Farmer Dad Ben.

Well their metabolisms are quite slow, and an unfortumate trade off of having high rates of healing is that they need to be quite lethargic most of the time lest they burn through their energy to fast.
Does not detract from the fact that they're still absolute units though.

So excited to see you have pigeons now, they're lovely creatures and I hate how stigmatized they are, your loft for them looks great! Also new kangaroo lady is so precious, I hope her and Dababy have a wonderful life together! Lastly Rest In Peace Remington, he graced us with his presence far longer than we deserved, may his spirit touch all the pardoned turkeys out there and give them happiness.
Now with Pidjeos (Piggons)! With such advanced technology, Uncle Benzax can keep them in containment for 6 to 8 weeks to FN+Windows key their "home" BPS (bird positioning service is naturally on God mode) and with some time (depending on breed), even take them out to the races (which they still do)! Good news...he can now use Pidjeos to deliver dispatches (tie a little briefcase to their leg) to Biggerton Ouncerton for his War Department! Slightly slower that steam driven internet, but it always gets there!
Fun Pidjeo Facts:
Poo makes great fertilizer, and is less hot for the ground than chickeos.
They teach each other "home base" & how to navigate extreme distances on-the-fly, even better than American Airlines.
You can take them weeks away from home base, release them, and they will come back (depending on breed & inclination). You have to build up to that distance.
They are outstanding bug assassins, but not quite as good as guineas.
They won't attempt to kill you in your sleep, like Kevin.
With some time & patience, they naturally put themselves up at night (to evade Hooters) on a fairly solid time schedule. (Depending on your setup.)
They do suffer from Hawk Assassins, but do make great Hawk Spotters, and as the other animals learn their alarm call (and movement) over time, will also put themselves up when one is spotted. They will tell you when one is around.
They got all kinds of pidjeroos...old homers, blue rollers (they roll in the air)...even giant pigeons that stand up straight and just march around like Tank, and just like Tank, cannot fly. (RIP to George, WW2 vet that used pidgies in the Pacific to run dispatches and had all manners of pigeons you can imagine, and who taught me as a kid. At our height, we ran about 300.)
They generally naturally take care of themselves...open up shop in the morning, out they go to feed in their group(s). Wheelin' and dealin', not to worry, they will come back before nightfall. Obviously you feed them when you open up, but they are really cheap to keep. With a large flock, other birds that are pains generally stay away, but birds you like will show up more.
Note- Mites. The mighty mite. Chickeos get them too, but some 7Dust or any manner of protection takes care of it.
With increased birds, comes increased predators...cats, skunks, chicken snakes, raccoons, coyotes, hawks, owls...and even the odd bobcat...so be warned...when you become a bird farmer, the natures neighborhood notices and a telegram goes out...but I think Uncle Ben has got it covered.
Uncle Ben can also sell the squabs & eggs, along with pidjies to stoppers-by, as people still do that type of stuff (Amish, etc., for insect pest control).
Sorry to say, it's been 20 years since I had a pidgeroo, so I have forgotten some stuff about them. It's ok, they already know & will remember Pidjie Default Settings for you.
Pigeons are one of the birds ever
It's actually unreasonable how excited I am about the pibdgeons! Everyone seems to hate them but they are incredibly beautiful and easy to socialize with and smarter than they get credit for. Any ol pigeon in the city will eat out of your hand if you bring them something healthy and delicious and have a calm aura. I used to hand feed them and people would wonder who is this magic bird man but it literally takes no skill, you just have to stay calm and non threatening.
Pigeons are the best.
@@sativadiva2389 In my area the city pigeons area species we call "rock doves", and we also have introduced Eurasian doves and our native band-tailed pigeons. All 3 are distinct species which do not interbreed and live in entirely different habitats. Such cool and underrated birds!

i've watched every single video of yours for over 2 years now, suffice to say i've seen a LOT of Remmington, seeing him go is unfortunate but i won't be sad because i know he's lived a long, happy life under your care, may he rest in peace and his tree inherit his outstanding lifespan
It's great to see that after over a year Uncle Ben is still keeping us caught up on what is happening with his animals and rescue ranch.

At this point, I don't think I can live without your weekly updates of the ranch. RIP Remington and damn that scratch was really bad.
I remember when you got Remington. I haven't been watching as much as I used to, being I work a night-shift job that doesn't really lemme have the free time to binge up on the Ranch, but I'm gonna make this a twice-daily thing to watch. The wholesomeness is on point and helps keep a bright light on the bleakness of a work week. Great work guys.

I got cat scratch disease (fever) in high school from being clawed by kittens. I ended up looking like Charlie Brown from all the weight I lost. I think I missed over a month of school. It was brutal. I'm glad to see uncle farmer daddy Ben stays on top of sanitation and disease prevention at the Urban Rescue Ranch.
My sons favourite birds are pigeons.
He is 12 and has rescued a few in the last couple of years.

Remington was a old sergant who have seen many fights. He was hell of a medic, has 7 bullet holes and they say he didn't even flinched when he got shot. He has nicknames like Immortal Remington, Mr Sponge... But if you called him any of that he would just smile back. He always said "If a man got shot, he can let it go or continue". He finally let it go. One of the most brave and resilient person I have ever seen. Rest in Peace sir.

You can actually see Kevin courting Karen in the background when he goes to take the egg. It's kind of sweet how Kevin is very territorial and aggressive but he is very sweet with Karen and his kids, I guess in the wild this would have been the perfect match.

It’s been a fun ride, watching uncle Ben as he’s continued to improve himself and his knowledge of animal care, become a professional we could all be proud of. And then he’s fighting a kangaroo and chasing it around his property while yelling, oh god damn it man, you were doing so well, you hadn’t fought a rhea while dressed as budget master chief in ages, I thought it was safe to recommend you videos to my mates and here you are engaging in an Australian past time in you back yard.
Still impressed with how well your taking care of mini bowser, sacrificing your tv and the ability to play Minecraft for the sake of his tank. Do you think maybe it’s time to invest some of that youtube money to buy some sort of forearm protection, my random thought of the day as I was watching the cricket, I couldn’t help but wonder if the padding they wear on their arms would protect them from frisky kangaroos, while I’m sure all those scares make you supper manly it still occurs to me that bleeding from your arms this much can’t be good for you.
Good to worry but, whilst it was some bleeding that was actually barely making it through the epidermis, so whilst it did bleed the way it did, it scabbed very quickly and a lot of the redness was just irritation. But yeah maybe just wearing a layer could be advised😅
Glad someone spoke about this, I was wondering if it's all ok for the kangaroo to get yelled at like that. I have no idea how a kangaroo's emotions work though, so who knows.
People need to remember that these videos are just glimpses (for entertainment) of what days at the URR are. Ben works hard. Very hard to take care of his animals and to grow his property and all his animals are happy and healthy. He doesn’t spend his days chasing and yelling at Da Baby. He doesn’t spend his days shield bashing Kevin. I have horses. When one of my horses (very dominant horse) pushes me around or bites me…well, I push him away and yell!!! That’s what horses do to each other. (Not the yelling part but the biting to push away part😅) I’m a 52kg and 161cm woman and I don’t want my 400kg horse bullying me! Uncle Ben likes to play with Da Baby…but that doesn’t mean Da Baby should be able to do whatever he wants. And I doubt Ben does this to be A MAN. He’s joking. (Uncle Ben being proud of his gains and feeling good about himself shouldn’t be a problem.) But I do agree about the arm protection…in regards to Kevin! 😅

I'm very aware that hand raised or not, these are wild animals for the most part and he needs to maintain alpha status or Kevin will kill him. Hit rapper and artist not withstanding it's clear that Kangaroos are aggressive at times and a good wrestle seems to be needed to keep them in check.
