I find your plan of moving there really valid. Also, with the attention you bring, you could definitely shine a light on those issues there and make lawmakers do something. As someone who's lived in Asia for a long time, if there's something here that make people change their attitude is "losing face". Seeing all this in Bali doesn't look good for the government.
I've heard about that from RottenMango. She describes the police only doing something when enough people get upset with them in Asian countries so I, too, hope that Ben moving there or opening up a rescue centre there will help demolish the selling of those animals.
The people there have probably been doing it for thousands of years. It would be difficult to convince them what they are doing is wrong when it's deeply embedded in their culture and way of life.
Thank you for showing that (nightmarish) market, and for "keeping it light" instead of telling us that we should feel bad (as if we needed to be told that).
For your flight pen, it might not be a bad idea to get some thick netting to drape over the sides away from the actual cage. I worked with a center for birds of prey for a time, and they said how wild raptors would fly at the enclosures to try and grab smaller birds through the caging. they cant pull them through, but they can still kill and injure any bird they do grab. the netting helps prevent that. it also helps prevent any bird who might somehow escape their enclosure from fully getting loose.
Man, Indonesia is such a wildly different place in terms of animal control, and culture, genuinely had no idea it was like that and kind of had my jaw dropped the whole time. Really happy you got to go and I’m happy that I am a little bit more enlightened about Indonesia. And I will certainly be praying for your efforts in opening up a sanctuary there. You have a very bright future ahead of you!
Rip Big ounce :( I remember back in 07 when I was watching movies with the wife when I had a home invasion, and Big Ounce jumped through my ceiling like Spider-Man, he proceeded to fend off the trespasser and gave words of wisdom.
Man I don't think I'd have the self-control necessary to see that type of crap over there everyday and not get myself arrested for giving some of those animal captors a bit of their own treatment. Massive respect to you though for even considering going down that road... I know it wouldn't be an easy task, but boy those animals sure could use the help.
Two of the owls at 9:30 look to be a type of Scops owls (likely Eurasian), and the other one I’m assuming is an Oriental Bay owl. Neither of which are vulnerable or endangered species (although Oriental Bay owls are a unique case), but theyre heartbreaking to see in cages like this nonetheless. I’m glad that you show the bad sides of animal rehabilitation and trade on your channel too!
After looking through Scops Owls it looks very much like Indian Scops owls with the white above their eyes and on the front of their wings when i search by image they look exactly like those. I'm no owl expert but I can't help but feel bad for them.
Hi Uncle Ben! Huge fan from Taiwan, can't believe you were here! It's really sad to see those animal markets in Indonesia...Taiwan has similar things too, but not as big (thankfully). I think it would be great for you to open up a branch in Indonesia, it was absolutely heartbreaking seeing the state that those beautiful creatures were in. I just hope you’re able to hire employees so that you dont have to spread yourself too thin between Waco and Indonesia
The part that made me the saddest was the owls and corvids. How they would grab their wings and shake them around. Such smart animals put in the hands of unwise people.
Truly an Inspiration. I remember what you said way back when on why you started rehab, and the reasons you left your job are the same as mine recently. I wasn't helping anyone at my job and I hope I find my "Urban Rescue Ranch" soon. Watching you build up this career/life over the years is incredible. Go make a difference Uncle Ben!
It's one thing to hear about it, but seeing it is a whole other nightmare. I'm glad these videos are out to show just how insane wet markets can be. Thank you for pushing content people need to see
I used to not click on your videos because of the click-baity titles, but now that I have actually started watching them I find myself really loving them, especially the educational aspects
I don’t mind the titles on this channel because they’re usually so ridiculous it’s pretty obvious it’s satirical. Like if you really think he’s feeding a sea turtle to his prairie dog that’s on you. Legitimate clickbait with attempt to truly deceit is annoying though I agree. And I lose respect for any channels that do that
12:14 for anyone confused about that to my knowledge that’s actually a buddhist symbol that the nazis stole and ruined so that’s likely a Buddhist meditation room.

God, those markets in Indonesia were awfully disturbing to see… but Uncle Ben’s reactions to the swastikas were hilarious 😂 (and yes I know it’s also a buddhist symbol)
9:30 the owl in the bottom right is a Phodilus badius or Browl Owl, it is very neglected however because its face is brown when its supposed to be creamy-white-ish. As for the other two, they are definately a species if scops owl, I think either the Eastern scops owl Otus sunia, or the Indian scops owl Otus bakkamoena. Either way they shouldn't be in a cage like this, kept as pets or be eaten. Thank you for bringing awareness to this❤
Oh my gosh - I (perhaps ignorantly) had no idea animal welfare was such a crisis in Indonesia. Thank you for raising awareness to it though your platform here, and for your willingness to even CONSIDER taking on such an enormous project. I think you do amazing things in Waco - and would love to see you expand your care and advocation for animals to places like those bird markets. Love and support you Uncle Farmer Dad Ben!
I don't exactly live in Indonesia, rather the Philippines (a neighboring country of Indonesia), but animal cruelty by your standards isn't animal cruelty by theirs. Making animals fight is still a sport in most Southeast Asian countries, there are _PLENTY_ of mistreated strays, and people assume that most animals normally die in a week without realizing that those animals die in a week due to their mistreatment (such as when Uncle Ben showed that clip of a guy making the owl dance; He, like others, probably thinks it's normal for owls to die quickly). The funny thing is I don't think even the middle-class cares altoo much too. I live in a gated community at the moment, and people here treat their dogs like trophies; Taking pretty breeds and either tie them up or lock them in tiny cages. I even have a neighbor who breeds dogs (not sure if intentionally or unintentionally), then locks up the older ones in a cage while keep the puppies inside the house. Not all people are like this, but people who're struggling won't be the kindest when they have so much to stress about, which is why they'd end up doing cruel things as a stress reliever.
@@Пинагодdoing cruel things to release stress isn’t an excuse, anyone who harms an animal for money or for any reason is a sick unredeemable human being. I wish animals had disposable thumbs to do the same to their abusers.
@@KuninKat Tell that to the family who's been struggling financially and has no one to turn to for emotional support. Let's just call them horrible people without understanding their situation and position in life, because clearly we've had the same struggles but overcame them to be better people, right? Us, the people that even had the privilege and time of watching this video, are definitely the people that should make a judgement. Look, I agree upon calling it horrible actions, but it just sounds so arrogant to call these people's entire well-being as horrible based on OUR standard of cruelty, when they've obviously been living on a different sort of cruelty, often much harsher than what we had to go through. It's much similar to a stray dog that killed another dog, or a mother rabbit eating its babies out of stress. Animals, humans as well, will naturally do cruel things out of stress (the more intelligent the crueler as well, since the more intelligent the more stress you'll face), and while it isn't always the case, it's likely the case when it comes to cruelty or neglect. Again, people reflect their environment. If someone neglects, they were probably neglected or have never been taught how to handle that responsibility, and was either forced or tricked into thinking they wanted that responsibility. I'll say it's horrible for a parent to neglect their child. But I won't be quick to judge considering the possibility that the parent might've lived a just as horrible life, maybe even worse than that child, to be this person that committed something so vile. This isn't justification either. I'm all for correcting this behaviour. But how are you able to correct it if you don't understand where the behaviour came from in the first place? This is basic cognitive behavioural therapy rules.
@@KuninKat Oh and, if animals had disposable thumbs, they'd be using that to be cruel in nature before they could even be our pets. Some predators like to gruesomely kill their preys, having thumbs will make it easier (mind you the two most common domesticated animals were predators). And sometimes they don't do it because they're hungry. If orcas and dolphins had thumbs, they'll be killing the shit out of animals, perhaps to the point of their extinction. In fact, if other animals had thumbs before us, and if they had the same intelligence as us, they'd literally be no better.
@@KuninKat And I wish ignorant, holier than thou privileged types like yourself had to live a single day in the life of these people. They are poorer than poor. The types that scour the landfills for things to eat. While you're busy worrying about pronouns, they're doing literally anything they can to survive. Nobody condones the treatment of these poor animals, but wishing ill on these people with no sense of emotional intelligence to realize that their governments are to blame for all this is just sad.

I've heard about that from RottenMango. She describes the police only doing something when enough people get upset with them in Asian countries so I, too, hope that Ben moving there or opening up a rescue centre there will help demolish the selling of those animals.
@@camiimowryit'll help legally, illegally on the other hand. And for small countries like that it's very easy for a black market to bloom
The people there have probably been doing it for thousands of years. It would be difficult to convince them what they are doing is wrong when it's deeply embedded in their culture and way of life.
@@poorsvids4738well fuck their culture and way of life then
Unfortunately it would be more likely that the police and government would go after him for making them look bad :(
:-( broke my heart& made blood boil same time seeing so many majestic animals cooped up suffering :-( Save as many as you can Handsome ♡ ♡ ♡
This is very smart and a good idea
5:57 Big Ounce's yahoo interruption is so precious
Man, Indonesia is such a wildly different place in terms of animal control, and culture, genuinely had no idea it was like that and kind of had my jaw dropped the whole time. Really happy you got to go and I’m happy that I am a little bit more enlightened about Indonesia. And I will certainly be praying for your efforts in opening up a sanctuary there. You have a very bright future ahead of you!
I am a 53 years old and I am not sure if these vidjos are made for 53 year old's, but I sure like them. Happy wampem Big Once.
Rip Big ounce :(
I remember back in 07 when I was watching movies with the wife when I had a home invasion, and Big Ounce jumped through my ceiling like Spider-Man, he proceeded to fend off the trespasser and gave words of wisdom.
6:58 "A man name of Woman" I was so caught off guard I am laughing so hard
Man I don't think I'd have the self-control necessary to see that type of crap over there everyday and not get myself arrested for giving some of those animal captors a bit of their own treatment. Massive respect to you though for even considering going down that road... I know it wouldn't be an easy task, but boy those animals sure could use the help.
Same
Two of the owls at 9:30 look to be a type of Scops owls (likely Eurasian), and the other one I’m assuming is an Oriental Bay owl.
Wishing you the best, you are so kind and doing such amazing things 💖 watching your videos has literally became a routine for me, and they always bring me a tremendous amount of joy :))
started tearing up with the guy handling the owl by the wings
As someone who truly loves your content and aspires to work with you Uncle Ben AND who has plans to go to Indonesia after college to visit family and search for wildlife rehab opportunities... this video SPEAKS to me
I hope that God always put you in a good place ☺️
I think it would be great for you to open up a branch in Indonesia, it was absolutely heartbreaking seeing the state that those beautiful creatures were in. I just hope you’re able to hire employees so that you dont have to spread yourself too thin between Waco and Indonesia
The part that made me the saddest was the owls and corvids. How they would grab their wings and shake them around. Such smart animals put in the hands of unwise people.
i know :( love crows and corvids with all my heart and seeing them like that made me sad, as for all of the animals
Continued prayers for you Uncle Ben! You are truly a wonderful person with a heart of gold!!!
can't believe big ounce flew all the way to indonesia all by himself its incredible
Yeah it’s impressive how much big ounce knows
Especially running the ranch at home and building the house. I also can’t believe he save all of the animals in the world at the same time
He got his pilots license n everything
I love that you go above and beyond to show and educate people about animals accross the world. Proud of you!
It's one thing to hear about it, but seeing it is a whole other nightmare. I'm glad these videos are out to show just how insane wet markets can be. Thank you for pushing content people need to see
Big Ounce interrupting the narration cured my depression fo' today. That boy is so cute
Something about knowing big ounce is with you when you record voice overs and provided a wahoo for this video makes me very happy.
12:09 that "what!?" nearly killed me💀
I used to not click on your videos because of the click-baity titles, but now that I have actually started watching them I find myself really loving them, especially the educational aspects
I am pretty sure that the titles are satire
@@thomashowe855 I know, but I still do not like clickbait titles
@@EasterWitch entirely fair
I don’t mind the titles on this channel because they’re usually so ridiculous it’s pretty obvious it’s satirical. Like if you really think he’s feeding a sea turtle to his prairie dog that’s on you.
Legitimate clickbait with attempt to truly deceit is annoying though I agree. And I lose respect for any channels that do that
Are you implying that big ounce hasn’t died over 100 times?
Awww big ounce interrupting the voice over has got to be one of the cutest things I've heard this week 🥹💗
it still stuns me just how muscular this man is. Its very practical for his job so thats a benefit.
Thats what u say after seeing this video talking about how big he got? please fall asleep and dont wake up world would b better 👍
bro all i did was point out how muscular he looked and how it amazes me that he is so casual with it. Its not that deep calm down@@danielson9983.
Ya thats my bad.. i was sad about the animals and went off
12:03 I can't believe Big Ounce is now a diver in indonesia!?!?
Is there anything this handsome boy can't do???
12:14 for anyone confused about that to my knowledge that’s actually a buddhist symbol that the nazis stole and ruined so that’s likely a Buddhist meditation room.
Was really hoping someone else would know this.
Not just buddhists, but mainly a symbol used by the hindus for prosperity
the no no sign is titled, these are not
I know but now it’s just extremely sus 💀
Naziis🥵🥵
It's so sad to see that the animals are being treated so badly and that people don't know how much suffering they go through but anyway we love you bigger ton ouncerton uncle Ben keep making amazing videos I hope you had a great time in Indonesia and China🇨🇳❤️💯🐹
Man that was a lot of exotic foreign names you said there. You’re enunciation was spot on.
Those animal markets were atrocious and devastating. I am grateful you are setting up a way to help! ❤️
6,000 real people clicked on this video within 10 minutes of uploading it. We love you Uncle Ben
This made me cry
@thierryparte2 u are an animal
Watch out who you call real. You wouldn't want me giving you a virtual woop ass for saying im a real person would you?
6000 clicked 6000 cried
I am so PROUD of you Uncle Ben!!! You have been quite a blessing in these animal lives and our lives as well ❤
It looks like you had a nice trip but those animals were just so sad. I do appreciate that you are bringing their problems to light. That's the only way they'll get fixed.
Sitting here on my phone, in the heat, no electricity, after Hurricane Idalia, and this is such a refreshing break from the destruction. Thanks for the info-taining videos 😊 The ranch looks lovely.
Stay Safe!
Oh my life ,this has to be the most heart-breaking place to visit 😔 its so sad to see all those little faces looking so unhappy, and those poor owls look like they were only just hanging on in there to their life, its awful 😔 but great that you raise awareness to this uncle dad Ben 💔❤️🩹
im so glad you made it to singapore i bet all the viewers cant wait to see what good work you do their! love your videos
It's been incredible watching Ben go from a garden to a full facility and it's awesome that he can do this and help animals thanks to people just watching
I can see that I'm not the only one who started to worry, I'm glad you are back!
Can't wait for the Urban Rescue Ranch Bali Edition!
He has an instagram
That was heartbreaking. I’m glad there are brave people like you that can handle a situation like that. It just breaks me. So I donate money instead. Everyone doing their part.
if i was a billionaire, you sir would have full access to it because i know your heart is pure and all you would do is good
good that you show it how it is. no matter how messed up it seems to people like me who don't have to worry about barely scraping by. hope your turtle made it.
I love how your motives are just save as many animals as possible by any means. very inspiring..
Thank you for bringing awareness to this❤
poor uncle Ben goes on vacation to relax only to find the horrors of animal marketing 😓 we feel your pain uncle Ben
I am so glad you are showing conditions in these markets. While it's so hard to watch, if we don't care, no one will.
"there was a nice little prayer card on the plane written for every religion most likely by someone who didn't follow any of them" (6:40 ish) he's so real for that
I’m glad you had a good time. That said, we vote with our dollars. I wouldn’t make any major investments in a spot that does animals dirty like that. Maybe you can fix it. ❤
Love hearing big ounce helping with narration 💖
Big Ounce has always been a big inspiration for me ever since he went on and won the Nobel Peace prize in donating mass amounts to charity. Love ya Big Ounce, keep being you 🫶🏼
Lol the other day I saw a serious short about prairie dog habitats, and *with no explanation* Big Ounce's stans were all over the comments, making it look like a delusional cult had just been let online 😂😂😂
Did you hear big ounceh while Ben was doing the voice overs 😂
Yes his little yahoos are so cute lol
Never quite thought I'd see the day Mr. Urban Ranch became Mr. World Wide
Big Ounces insightful narration over your trip scenes really bring this video together.
I pray and hope for the best for your future endeavor Uncle Ben, been watching you since your long winter chapter in New Austin, love from Indonesia
Hello Uncle Ben! I have been watching your channel now for a while, and I hope and pray that you do become a very successful wildlife rehaber and you have also helped me to decide as to what to do with my life. I have decided to try and become a wildlife rehaber as well. I’ll keep on praying for you and Big Ounce. P.s. I also live in the amazing state of Texas. -Ian
Best of luck
Amazing is *a* word for Texas.
It truly is a shame to see the way those animals in the markets were being treated. Alas, a country without Big Ounce's presence and authority is destined to crumble. RIP Indonesia
Your videos are hilarious and inspiring all at once. Keep up the great work!!
Man became 007 Rancher and spied on Indonesia to study the conditions.
...Kudos Unc...kudos!
Your truth of being a good person shines
Ben if you move to Indonesia that would be awesome. Takes a ton of work but we know you’re up to it whatever it takes.
I know Waco and the surrounding areas including where you are, right outside, will take a huge hit. Maybe you can find a rescue who is willing to buy off you and take over your land? Someone able to send licensed workers to work that rescue as well? You could have Urban Rescue Waco/Texas and Urban Rescue Indonesia. So many people stand by what you do and what you believe…I, for one would love to be a part of this if only with donations or anything. Good luck to this, if this is what you choose to do. If not then by all means, I love keeping things the way they are. Honestly change usually sends me off (not that I would leave this channel 😂) but yeah. Where you are now is awesome and you’re growing quickly. Helping so many more animals. It’s amazing and thank GOD for you. So many would have been lost already without you. Keep going Ben! Our nature buddies need you for you and for a middleman for us
Big ounce being so happy to see you again is so wholesome
YOU'RE ALIVE! I'm glad Big Ounce was able to bring you back to life with one of his many lives. A true war hero and an even better friend. ❤
Absolutely love your channel and seeing all the amazing work you do. I never miss an episode. Sadly, I wish I somehow missed this one. Those poor animals :( I know animal mistreatment and cruelty happens everywhere, but every time I see it, I feel so crushed with sadness and anger.
As a fan from Hong Kong, bit sad I missed Uncle Ben, but also glad he had a good time for most part. Uncle Ben deserves a vacay with all the work he does.
Also 5:50 - I knew that Uncle Ben was jacked, but _Jesus Christ_ he could snap my twig limbs like kitkat bars
seeing that man treat the owl like that made me pretty sad, having taken care of some of them and seeing it like that is even worse.
Please dont leave us alone in America uncle Ben. We need you to fend off the beasts
Uncle ben you've worked so hard in America from crack house to a animal rehabber, if moving makes you happy you do you, if you move we will all miss you.
good luck ben
damn when the depression releases you enough to enjoy videos again and URR upgrades an insane amount
You never fail to see your calling clearly, I think you’d have a big impact in Bali
Seeing the tokay geckos made me so sad...
They're on the brink of being on the endangered species list cause people can't stop catching wild ones and using them for ''medicine''. I own two captive bred tokays and they're such amazing animals! They incubate their eggs and care for their young and greet each other by licking each others snouts. It's such a shame people are doing this...
Thats crazy, they're an invasive species in Florida. People need to just leave animals where they're supposed to be and stop shipping them around for our food and pleasure. We're doing untold damage and its so horrible thoughtless and selfish 😢
@@BooBuKittyPhuk How ironic! Endangered there but invasive here! Animals can't seem to get a break! PEACE!
Ben, you deserve every bit of that "break". God bless.
even if uncle ben somehow made his videos an hour long it would still only feel like 2 minutes watching it 😭
thanking you for making this video while also battling the algorythm meanwhile wishing i was more like you - you are a wonderful hooman, stay awesome
It’s a good thing to get some perspective now and then, thank you for sharing. So much if that was so heart breaking
Your property is just of the wall FABULOUS! You haven't just made it livable... you've made ing so pretty in some areas and down right beautiful in others! There IS a difference between pretty and beautiful. It looked like your bed is right next to those awesome cathedral windows. You were bottle feeding something in your bed. But then..... you showed us your feet...FOR FREE!! oh my Stars!! Thank you Uncle Ben....thankyou for burning that image into my eyes AND my brains for ever!!....❤
It’s crazy how in certain countries you visit, normal is so much different than where you live
