Dial A for Aunties is a cozy mystery. It's a genre where an amateur sleuth solves the murder and there is usually a bit of romance in it.

Yep, by the title and book cover I would have said Cosy Mystery but was a bit late 😂 If you like cosy mysteries, you may like The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. It’s a series about a group of people living in a retirement home that solve crimes. They are very funny and pretty good.

misery is so good ☺ I really enjoyed the storyline, especially after I read the author note & found out that the entire book is actually a metaphor for stephen king's drug addiction and the dangers of opioids. it makes the story take on a whole different deeper meaning 💖

This was so much fun to watch! I loved the different books you chose (and the background music was perfection 😌)! Out of the three, I've only read Dial A for Aunties, and I totally agree with your thoughts on it - I gave it three stars. That being said, I also bought the sequel and other book by the author 😊
The other two are on my tbr, and I'm so looking forward to them!!

I keep coming back to this video! I love the editing so much. The spooky music in the background and the way you explain books is so beautiful without giving too much away. I’ve been looking for thrillers on here but some bookTubers don’t explain the books well, they explain the main gist of it and make the book sound boring. I love your enthusiasm (if it’s needed in the book reviews) and the way you give your honest opinion. You’re seriously one of my favorite booktuber. Pls pls pls do more thrillers 💕

I'm so proud of you! Like, in the last video you were nervous to read your first thriller and now look at you: reading them as if it would be nothing 👏👏 maybe you'll discover the horror genre somewhen. ;). By the way, I can highly recommend -the one- by John Marrs, it's half science fiction, half romance thriller and it's SO GOOD. This author is great at putting lots of unpredictable twists in his books and the chapters are super short. You'll fly through them

I love thrillers, and I loved this vlog!! I would recommend The Silent Patient. It's a psychological thriller!!
Misery was my first S.K. novel as well, I'm so glad to see that a reading vlog was done for it because I had a hard time discovering other Book-tubers reading the same novel. I wanted so badly to know what others thought of the story, I also gave it 4/5 stars which in my scale is excellent. I will say the dialog did make me feel very eerie to the point where I had to go and watch a cute cartoon or Christmas movie to cheer myself up again, I agree with you when you said it feels that you yourself are "Paul Sheldon" entrapped.

You should read Where the crawdads sing! I loved it! Has a murder mystery in it but also loved reading about the main character 💗

I loved the Housemaid too! I just read Falling by TJ Newman and I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for another thriller. I also scare easily so I don’t do hard-core thrillers (I recently picked up the Last Word by Taylor Adams and had to put it down because it was too much for me! 😅)

I haven't read Misery but have seen the movie and I've heard the book is worse in terms of what she does to Paul than what is in the movie 😬🙈 I'm planning to have a Stephen King month in October where I read his books and watch his movie adaptations 😊

Always fun to read mystery/thrillers. I would like to see a part 2 of this. I am reading A Good Girl's Guide to Murder trilogy and The Naturals and so far they are a fun read.

I would recommend you the following Japanese thriller/mysteries for starters:
- Confessions by Kanae Minato, but be prepared it's quite intense. It's pure thriller but I enjoyed it a lot
- The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino, less intense when it comes to gore but still high tension and suspense. It's mystery with thriller suspense.
