I’m shocked you can read a book over 1000 pages in just over 24 hours. I thought I was a fast reader. I can finish a book a day if I want to but not that long of a book. Kudos for being able to do it!
He skim reads he skips small sections he says so In his it reading vlog so that makes him read faster
@@bookaholicgameaholicvlogah4191 as far as I know, it's only the very inappropriate parts he skips, so I don't think that accounts for too much volume.
I skip the sexual content. Everything else I read!

The Stand was one of the first Stephen King books I read, and it blew every expectation I had out of the water. Definetly my favorite book of all time. Awesome that you loved it so much!

King is my favorite author. I've only read The Stand once, and I need to read it again! My copy was 1400 pages, so I read 100 pages a day and finished it in 2 weeks.
My first Steven King book is Carrie ❤ I’m reading the Stand now it’s awesome the way Mr King writes it’s like while you’re reading the characters truly come alive it’s like a theater production in your head can’t explain it 😮

The Stand is easily in my top 5 favorite SK novels. I read it back in 2020, and I really enjoyed it. Right now, I read 39 books by him (I'm on my 40th with Duma Key). The man just knows how to write. Keep it going, Ian! You should definitely do 11/22/63. Or you can do a Stephen King vlog. I also really enjoy your energy and positive attitude.

I've had this beautiful book on my shelf for a few months and I keep looking at it, thinking is today the day I will tackle it? I have put it off due to the thickness, but watching your video, following your journey, and hearing your thoughts, I am so inspired to just dive right in and start my own epic journey. I’m reading “The Stand” too right now for the first time, loving it too. I’m at the part where Larry and Rita just came out of the NJ tunnel. So dang good! I have some fun recommendations for you too. Just read “Vampires of El Norte” by Isabel Canas, it’s old Mexico, forbidden romance, horror, ranches…so good. Her other book “the Hacienda” is excellent too. For a fun sci-fi book for you and Ashlynn, I super recommend “Project Hail Mary” by Andy Weir. He also wrote “The Martian”, which was made into a movie starring Matt Damon. But PHM has the better payoff in my opinion. There is some science-y tech talk in the book, but it won’t take away from the story, you can skim over those parts. It was my fave sci-fi book of 2021. Just trying to give you a few fun, atmospheric reads for the Fall. Show these to Ashlynn as well. I love you guys!

I read this book in the late 80s early 90s and I can't say I remember it all that well but I do remember it being my favorite book back then. I'm not much of a re-reader and this book is so big I'm not sure if I'm up to the challenge. Lol
Side note are you panning on reading book 2 of the Inheritance Game? I thought it was good but not sure if I want to continue the series or not.

Wow...I am trying to read 2 books before I have to turn them in to the library Saturday and I am only half way thru on both of them and I have been reading them everyday this week!

This was great! The Stand is a beautiful book im so glad you enjoyed it. I really hope you consider checking out either The Lies Of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch or Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson this year! I would love to hear your thoughts on those fantastic books as well. I'm terrified to do one of these because I don't want to actually know my reading speed 😂 As far as I'm concerned I read as fast as I did in high school and I'm happy living in that delusion :)
They are daunting! I don’t like doing them often. But they can be useful if you have a stubborn TBR!

Last month you had me thinking IT would be my first attempt at Steven king but now I’m thinking the stand might be my trial run! Ether way I decided Steven king month for October because pet seminary has been on my TBR for too long now
The Stand would be an excellent trial run! My only fear is that nothing else would compare once you’ve read it. But, then again, everything he writes is absolutely perfect, so yeah!! Pet Semetary is also on my TBR for next month!

I also didn't like the sexual parts in the book, so that is why I gave it 4 stars.

I read The Stand over 20 years ago and don’t remember a thing 😅 EXCEPT that it was the most epic good vs evil battle, I got really emotional, and it was the most amazing book I’d ever read.
Did you know it was made into a miniseries?
I have watched the miniseries they made of it from 1994! That was years ago, and it was my only context into what the book was about!

If you're looking for a similar book to The Stand sometime, check out Swan Song by Robert McCammon. They have similar vibes and plots and both books were really good. (but unfortunately there's also unneeded sexual content)

First off, welcome! Glad you there! Second, it’s really any kind of sexual content. It never adds anything to the story (in my opinion). If it’s in a book, I would rather it be closed door. But, yeah!

The Stand was the first Stephen King book I ever read, absolutely loved it! I definitely couldn’t have done it in a 24 hour time frame 😅 but kudos to you! Glad you enjoyed it.
