      Hey my friend, your comment made me smile. 😊 I really appreciate you taking the time to listen to the jam! Happy to trade some of the GAS back after all these years buying stuff based on your recommendations. 😂 I highly recommend the Syntakt. Seriously, it's such a crazy instrument!

      I really appreciate you giving it a listen, Stephen, glad you liked it! We had fun with this song and creativity was flowing, much thanks to the Syntakt's ctrl+all feature.

    I love this track. I actually started to follow you because of the great Syntakt content, where you create really inspiring live content. I'm very happy to see that you bring the SP404 into the game and use it with the Syntakt for something other than just the EFX (like most others). I use the same combo Syntakt + SP (+ Microfreak) to have a portable and minimal setup. In my opinion the SP404 ist mostly overlooked for this kind of music and combination and many favor the Digitakt. But 16 min stereo samples enable me to layer longer samples and field recordings to complement the syntakt with more organic atmospheric sounds - love that.

      Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and for following the channel! Yeah, I agree that the SP-404 is very complementary to the Syntakt and they can sort of "riff off of each other" in interesting ways through resampling. I feel like that's one of its true strengths because the benefit of stereo sampling becomes very apparent when it comes to textures and atmospheric soundscapes. That said, if I could only own one sampler, I would still probably pick the Digitakt due to how well it fits my style of music and workflow. I hit up against similar frustration points with the SP as I tend to do with all the other Roland products I've tried. There are just a bit too many aspects of the UI that gets in my way, I guess. But it's no doubt an inspiring piece of gear that leads to original ideas!

    enjoyed track a lot ! How exactly you use 404 here ? I assume you have midi machine on syntakt which is sending notes to 404 ?

      Thanks for listening! Yes, track 4 is dedicated to the SP throughout the track. Some of the samples come from the Syntakt originally, particularly the reverse effects (they were obviously reversed on the SP 😊) and some come from TH-cam.

      @@sinewaymusic How you like 404 in combination with syntakt ?
      Also wanted to ask - Is it possible somehow by switching pattern on Syntakt automatically switch pattern (including loaded sounds) also on sp404 ?

    • @sinewaymusic
      @sinewaymusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@raysubject It's a pretty fun combination! Using the sequencing capabilites of the Syntakt eliminates my main gripe about it, which is its clunky sequencer workflow compared to the Syntakt. A single midi track gives you access to banks A-E, so that's 5x16 samples in total. Because of this, I haven't had to explore the possibilities of pattern switching since I'm not even close to using 70+ individual samples in this song. I'm sure there's a way to trigger the pattern sequences on the SP via midi though, I just don't use them and instead trigger the individual samples from the Syntakt. Hope this clarifies, otherwise keep asking questions. 😊

      @@sinewaymusic yeah perfectly clarified... i guess you can play those samples polyphonically from syntakt ? So for example set tracks 5,6,7,8 on syntakt every one play one of those 70+ samples polyphonically, on another pattern different 4 samples polyphonically and so on .. that way even for all 16 patterns of bank you have enough samples to play 4 different samples polyphonically in each pattern .. am i understanding it correctly ?

      @@raysubject A single Syntakt can play multiple samples at once on the SP-404, up to four notes per midi step on the Syntakt. And because your samples on the SP may be longer and played as one shots, in practice, you can use the entire polyphony of the SP to play up to something like 32 samples simultaneously, all from one single Syntakt track. It's extremely flexible!
