Strictly drumming wise he’s more creative, as a musician as a whole the rev tho definitely because he was a great songwriter and composer and that’s what really made him special. Just drumming tho Brooks is more creative and more technical, Jimmy was still an awesome drummer tho
Thank you for explaining why I love the drums in that last part so much I couldn't put my finger on it in terms of technique cuz I'm not a drummer at all put that double time kick really kicks it up a notch for me
I agree the vocals are one of the best out of shadows whole catalogue which is kinda insane when you remember this is where he started to loose his voice thankfully he took the time out since 2023 shads has been insane live the mixing on the new album doesn't do him justice
It's funny, I agree that he's never sounded better, but I think the mixing on LiBaD helped to prove that! Obviously not the whole album, but there are a lot of moments where his voice sounds more raw than ever, and the nuances really come through to further prove just how much control and range he has. When I first heard him sing "Can't you see, life is but a dream, anyway?" at the end of Game Over, it sent a chill down my spine.
Makes you wonder why all human history is broken down in wars and atrocities. The video is based on "I don't know what weapons will be used in WW3. Yet I know exactly what weapons will be used in WW4. Sticks and Stones." A. Einstein
First time i heard this song was when i went to watch Metallica live at the rose bowl back in 2017. They were the 2nd act and opened up with this and it sounded amazing live
It's always a fun review when Manda invades, but this was a darn good reaction, and a darn good review for a song that I quite enjoyed. The video was REALLY reminiscent of the video for Do The Evolution by Pearl Jam, animated by Todd McFarlane of Spawn fame.
Love it David, excellent review. I appreciate it when you get the bass out and try and catch the progressions/riffs. Square Hammer by Ghost is another great example. Have you ever considered mic-ing the amp/DAW in mix for the reactions? Love to hear you play more and break down the progressions audibly. No criticism in the slightest, just a fan request as you're my absolute go-to channel for your breadth of knowledge and fairness. Subbed for 2 years, keep 'em comin'.
I've been trying to figure out a way to plug my bass and my mic into the computer. Unfortunately my system only recognizes one input, so I can't plug them both into the computer directly. I thought about using a mixing board, but my mic is a USB mic so there's no input. So I would have to buy a new mic. The easiest thing to do would buy a combo amp, and good combo amps aren't cheap. I'm keeping my eye out for one.
This is the kind of song that it doesn’t ever matter or don’t care about tech stuff. This all about music just being a tool to deliver a deep message , not to waste time thinking about chords progression.
One of my favorites from the band. I appreciate the focus on the music. Video is great, but some get distracted by the video and talk more about it than the music. Beautiful kitty, btw 😻
Hello David🙂 I’m very new to your channel and I just wanted to ask if you do not mind; what do you do for a living and where does your musical knowledge come from? I’m very In tune with channels like yours that breakdown my favourite music and give me some insight on how it’s put together👌👌 Much love from Daniel in Canada🖤
David, calling new Avenged predicable i think is wrong, the newest album is actually the most unpredicable album they ever made!! Also that cat looks spoiled..lol
From a bassist to a bassist I suggest you to check their song Blinded in chains from City of Evil album, that song is something else, and yeah The Stage the song is amazing, and the album is one of their best of all times
David, i think you should back to your old scoring system. Because the old one shows how song is perfect. ex: 9 Point is perfect and 8 point is perfect too. So there is a difference between them and its more clear.Scoring with stars feels like so basic and superficial
brooks wackerman is quickly becoming my new fave drummer to listen to he might not be as creative as the rev but he’s just as technical if not more
as creative imo, he's greatly proven his position as The Rev's successor
I wish he'd stayed in bad religion, but I can understand wanting to move on 😂

This entire album is a masterpiece
the main solo of this song always gives me chills throughout my entire body
IMO opinion, as perfect a metal song as possible, loved it. Thanks for the great reaction.

5 stars? I couldn’t agree more! One of my FAVORITES! Loved your review!

A spellbinding song, with a very important message regarding history and how we never learn the mistakes from pass times.
This is a REALLY great song by A7X and in general
The last few weeks this song has been stuck in my head, and then boom this reaction pops up.
Very happy to see you review this one! One of my favorite songs by them! Well done!
The you should check out the whole album, a fantastic album…
Gates makes that guitar tell a story.
That Schecter sounds like a violin
Paradigm from the same album would be good
imo it's probably the best song they've written in recent years and definitely one of the best song in their discography
Love the Epica shirt. Enjoyed the reaction!

Avenged Sevenfold - MIA ❤️🔥

Good score 👍🏻 this is one of my favorites of theirs

I'm a professional musician. I have been studying music for over 40 years, and I've been a professional musician for over 30 years.
I really hope you react to Cosmic by Avenged sevenfold one day, I’d love to see your reaction to that, it gives me chills
React to, insomnium - lilian or brymir - voices in the sky

Not a very good album IMO, but this is one of my favorite songs from them.
This album is great tho and like 100x better than hail to the king, this was a cool and creative prog metal album.
