While I do have a worry that people may manipulate the AR characters, I 'm going to see the positives. I got into kpop bacause a non-kpop fan friend send me the video to the LoL live stage asking me to check out the AR characters - that lead me to (G)I-DLE and thus the love affair with kpop began. I wonder if Aespa will bring new fans to kpop due to curiosity as we all know they will get so much buzz internationally?

SM just need to let the girls out of media and public for the moment, and in the mean time SM will sue whoever make false rumour about them. Remember SM alrady posted warnings in their page, and they join venture with not 1 but 10 law firms. SM dont come to play this time becaue after Irene situation they realized how there's a group of motion especially media that try to bring them down. Now after they released the statement, only the original articles still available, many those othere false rumour had been taken down especially from site like Allkpop and Koreaboo. And SM also ask help from fans if we see malicious comment just sent it to their email and they will take it from them. Yeah, entire Kpop industry try to bring SM down not only haters.

@@dontlookmeup8437 im a revluv and i know about this stuff (btw idk why you commented something random but fine), but we can't deny that sm sometimes just ignored lots of things that happened with rv, so if they ignore them bc of aespa debut im not gonna be surprised, just gutted af and quite pissed of. c'mon we all know that sm loves to give rv makeshift things, even if they're a big group, and it's obvious that a new girl group, specially with this new concept, will demand time and money, something that they have but don't want to lose, so as a revluv im concerned, sm isn't a trustworthy company, none of them are. they can have plans, but can they execute it well? i mean in a way that respect and show how wonder rv members are. and of course they're worried about the irene situation, controversy = losing 💰, and this what they don't want at all. of course they want to earn money with the girls, but making a comparison of how the girls are treated (including songs, dances, visuals, they privacy and mental/fisical health) and how money they make, i think that they need more respect, don't you think? (even if they couldn't make money they would deserve respect as human beings but you know what i mean)
sm isn't cool and liberal as many people think, they just give attention to things that make them lose money and prestigious, the rest is just thrown up in to the basement until they need it to cover-up another controversy 🤐👺💰

no more "kpop idols are humans too!" "they have feelings! they're not robots!" type of talk anymore. the a.i. idols can't even get injuries and mental health problems. they can be in several places at once. slowly just creeping me out the more i think about it...

SNSD wasn't part of the Hol Trinity, they were untoucheable as a gg for most of their careers and between 2011-2012 as a kpop group period. That didn't get in the way to promote them less and less until members started leaving; idol group career is more of a setting stone for female idols so they can persue careers as singers or actresses after.

Edit: guys I’m not saying I want them to entirely be EXACTLY the same, there really wouldn’t be a point if there were two of each member 😓 BUT I WILL SAY THIS: the way that SM created these avatars are too fake. Comparing the girls with the avatars, the avatars just are “better” looking in so many aspects. By better I mean the high standard of beauty we hold these idols to (and girls). I just want to avatars to at least have the same skin color and body type (height doesn’t matter cause I know everyone here would make themselves taller if they could) with the teensiest hint of the girls themselves. not thin thighs and huge butts. Because then again your personality is you. Thats all I want and I don’t think I’m asking much. We need to set a beauty standard where people don’t have to look like these avatars to look beautiful.

To be fair this is what everyone says about every SM group that has ever debuted.
It was said about SuJu and SNSD when they debuted, that the group was too big and wouldn't be memorable, people also complained about having chinese members in SuJu, there were complaints about Exo being too big as well, and not being able to take after SuJu's popularity, the same with Red Velvet. Then NCT came along and people complained about the system objectifying the members, being a much too extreme version of the Kpop system that everyone criticizes, and so on. And now all of these groups have sold millions, and are respected figures in the industry so.....

I think the "avatar" version of the girls falls to a weird category.
    1. Coming from animation major, the avatars looks too realistic in proportion, but with exaggerated features. I'd actually prefer if they went further with the concept and maybe made the avatars sorta like EXO's "superpower" concept that they have, maybe add story that makes them more distinguishable than their IRL counterpart. (Maybe members who have "chatty/friendly" personality can have an avatar who has dog-like features/rounder design, or "evil/chaotic" members have sleeker, sharper design. The fact that they are computer generated makes the possibility endless!)
Also worried the exaggerated proportions of the avatar might make the girls have body image issues; too self-concious or harsh in judging themselves. (Not being as busty/skinny/white/* *insert other conventionally atractive features here* * as the avatar). I'm also worried for perverts and sasaengs who fail to separate reality from fiction, as these people unfortunately takes their entitlement too extreme.
    2. This is just musings, but if in the future the group decides to disband (hopefully not!) how does copyright work for the avatars? Can the company still promote them with the IRL member's voices, or not? Can the girls still say the avatars' singing voice as their own? I'm not criticizing anything with this, but this needs a lot of communication and bouncary-establishment from both party.

Unpopular opinion: Every single decision that SM has made in the past has been questioned by everyone, including fans and critics alike. However SM doesn't care at all and, guess what? 90% of time SM idea works. That´s why I believe that SM knows something that everyone ignores, they know what they are doing. If SM stop and listen to every single critic that someone makes to their idea, we would't have any SM idol or any kpop company for that matter because, here is a fun fact for you: SM. Entertainment was the firts kpop company to exist and, is the company that star the training sistem that every single kpop company use 'till this day. Is the company perfect? Of course not. Do SM need to improve in some aspect, especially in their treatment to the artists? Undoubtedly.
