- Mors Kochanksi, Author of 'Northern Bushcraft' and 'Bush Arts', being interviewed for television in 1975.
He was at this time delivering courses on wilderness survival at the University of Alberta as an associate professor, as well as being editor for the 'Alberta Wilderness Arts and Recreation' Publication.
Mors skills and techniques have evolved since 1975 and he continues to expand and refine his knowledge of Wilderness Living Skills and Survival; he still resides and instructs in Alberta, Canada.

My daughter noted that this video was posted, when she was 3 years old, and the original video, was made, when I myself was 3 years old!! Wow very knowledgeable. Physiological comment on use of hot water fasting has stood the test of time. Also, psychological comment "remember the woods is neutral" addresses emotional aspects most persons underestimate in traumatic survival situations.
this cool i love mors videos on his channel. but to see him like this is awesome. to bad that they dident get him for some of the survival shows on tv he was do it all before les bear and dave were born
fantastic content...apart from us having more up to date clothing ( goretex) his advice is bang on..and years before Lofty Wiseman...I can't believe how little there is of Mors available,,thanks so much for posting!

Actually Goretex and similar 'breatheable' membrane synthetics are of questionable use. There is a lot of rubbish talked about it, largely by sales clerks who have never used the alternatives.
"Questionable use"?
I have used both synthetic and natural and my personal opinion is that they both have their place. I combine to great success, as do many experienced adventureres.
To say synthetics are of "questionable use" says more about you and your experience than the materials and their applications.
Yeah, no bears, no daves, no rays…just good, useful, practical advice from "old Mors"...Now, that's the real deal, not those bollywood stars, preppers, sofa-coachers and city-clerks bla-bla-bla!
Why? If you think sparks from a fire are going to damage it then just put on a cotton or wool top layer on.
If you are going to wear synthetics, like fleece or BDU, spray on fire retardant on your clothes. alternatively invest in wool.
