I've never been interested on extreme sky flyer but it will still be sad to see it gone, it's so tall and memorable
I hate when they do this... Announce closures after the last ride... Give us a chance to get our final turn.
If it was a coaster, I get it, but an upcharge flatride?I m not sure if it's significant enough to deserve a final farewell
I think they figured people wouldn't care all that much that this ride is leaving. I mean, they gave Sky Rider a proper send off, so it's not like they haven't final rides before. I think they only do it for big coasters, as opposed to the smaller flat rides.
Im just talking in general... They did the same with Orbitor ... And just because this wasn't your favorite or mine doesn't mean it wasn't somebody's... Not saying they should make a event of it, but they could at least announce the closure before the season loses for the ride so anyone who wants the opportunity can have it... There is no downside to letting ppl know 2 months ago as opposed to now....worst case scenario they would have squeezed a little extra revenue from it.

I used to operate Skyflyer. I remember the training was very long and hard, sad to hear about it getting dismantled. 😢
So they remove this but not Flight Deck or Time Warp….
So, does this all but confirm a hypothetical track path / layout for one of the possible launched wing coaster concepts? 👀

It'll be a cold day in hell when Wonderland removes a roller coaster. If y'all haven't noticed, they pride themselves with the number of coasters they have. If they were to remove one, likely it gets replaced quickly.
they've already removed Skyrider.

With Skyflyer, Flight Deck, and Time Warp gone they put the Zumba Flume back as god intended. :)
I surprisingly like flight deck, in my opinion it is better than time warp. So I hope flight deck doesn’t get removed

I rode pipeline surf coaster yesterday and the airtime you get is a game changer, your feet leave the ground so much.
That being said I wish they would add a ski jump themed coaster instead of a wing. It would be perfect. A massive camel back that looked like a ski jump would feel very close to the real thing.
The model also would be great for a moguls type section. It actually makes more sense than surfing.
The thing with minebuster getting double of flight deck´s ridership is that minebuster can sometimes actually be fun and not hurtful
Where do you get the information for ridership numbers? I've always wanted to know the ridership numbers for all of canada's wonderland's coasters.
Guessing the Xtreme Skyflyer site will probably be used by the B&M launched wing/blast coaster for a turnaround element.
When TW and FD bite the dust, I would love to see a newer gen Invert (either a Vekoma STC or a B&M invert) be built.

They should go for a invert launch instead of a wing launch. Gives more variety to the park. Way different then the other main 3, and we don’t have an intense invert coaster that’s enjoyable to ride other then Yukon but I’m talking more forceful inversions

I remember when Flight Deck opened (under the name Top Gun). The line-ups were insane. It’s crazy how time changes things.
You tease with that Flight Deck intro and poster!! Nice one.
The intro was a commercial for Jet Scream, a ride that was around until 2010 and got replaced by Windseeker
I’ve never been on that ride yet, I’ve been on everything else but I always skipped that one. So I’m kind of okay with it getting removed but it does suck that I never tried it even once. I have tried slingshot though which is amazing and very fun
XS is way better and cheaper than Slingshot
Man it was always iconic to see it standing at the entrance. But it’ll be for the best for the future.
If anyone is wondering, the new ride they are putting where sky flyer is getting removed will be called “Alpen fury” it’s coming out it 2025 it’s apparently going to be the fastest ride in wonderland!
Remember the days top gun ride in my childhood was a constant 1.5 hr to 2 hour wait. Now usually a walk on, never see extra queue lines open enless super busy day and will not wait now more than 20 or 30 minutes
I am still hoping there will be a B&M Flying coaster in and out the Wonder Mountain and flying around the world's Expo area.
This removal makes the most sense. I always thought that would go before any coaster would go. Loads of land and a fraction of the $$$ invested in the ride itself to scrap. This plot of land is better used to soak up some people with a higher capacity attraction in the overcrowded park.
With its removal and the work at the front gate / Leviathan area, now I'm wondering if it is for a new coaster leaving the Xtreme Skyflyer area and interacting with Leviathan.
As for Flight Deck, sister and I always went on it, but the new restraints has made it worse. And the shape means I can't put my arms up anymore. Used to ride almost every visit, only 4 times in the last three seasons.
My guess for Extreme sky fly is not profitable to keep around
Flight Deck and Time Warp are fun, but restraints are terrible and the last time I rode them (back to back, because no lines to speak of) I got nauseous afterward. I will be sad to see them go, but not really.

Time Warp is gonna go first. Went 7-8 times this season the most I’ve ever been in my life and half the time it was down and barely had a line. Flight Deck can still garner a small line a busy days, but it’s days are also numbered.
Where are you getting your stats from for example mine buster having double the ridership of flight deck?
Can’t explain but trust me my numbers are accurate. Anyone visiting the park can visually tell as well as Minebuster had a full queue all summer where flight deck didn’t

unpopular opinion: I love flight deck!! back when it was called Top Gun it was my parents first roller coaster ride together, and then ever since i’ve been tall enough to ride it i’ve been riding it too! yes it’s rough, but not nearly as rough as minebuster or backlot so i don’t understand why it gets so much hate. it’s always been so much fun! id be sad to see it go, but hopefully it stays for at least 1 more season so i can ride it again! got season passes end of last year so i’m planning to go often this summer (no clue why we’ve never gotten passes before when we live so close 😂)
But I do hope the PNE Playland will purchase the Flight Deck and purchase a new Vekoma SLC train for their expansion project.

Are you sure about ridership numbers being down on flight deck and time warp?? Time warp was often lined up all the way to the wooden gate, or just slightly beyond it! That’s pretty good for time warp. Flight deck seemed pretty good lines when I was there but not like it used to be

I think that’s not good idea because lots of American parks have ride simulate to this different shape tower it makes you money the other rides that should be on chopping block are not very comfortable like time warp. Flight deck mine busters the bat dragon flyer wild beast thunder run vortex the fly those rides don’t make you money not like how ex’s team skyflyer does city coin sole for city of Toronto did same move with centennial park go karts batting cages and beach volleyball they got kick out even after they tried to petition it so they can redevelop the park and at a base so don’t take away something that makes you extra money on top of season pass people by

Isn't KD rumored to get a launched wing coaster in 25 to replace volcano? After the last rumor of such a ride being added was false I highly doubt it though although alleged station renderings were found but they could easily have been edited to include KD's logo by any teenager with a working knowledge of rendering software.. They could relocate CWL's SLC to KD however.

My cousin used to work for wonderland and said that flight demon, time warzone, and the big swing thing r gonna be removed. I wonder if she is right.
I hope this is the timeline. Xtreme Skyflyer last season 2023, Flight deck and Time Warp last season 2024. 2027 the opening of the new b&m world theme called Racing around the World.
Not sad about this one. I got to ride this as a teen and it was a great one and done.

@@zachguest8565 considering RMC's rocky (hehe) relations with cedar fair this may be unlikely but i'd love to see either wood coaster get RMCed. Wilde beast RMC would be great bc it could emphasize the admittedly weak turns, but really good drop, among other things. i would prefer a Minebuster RMC though bc it could interact with splash works in a cool way, but for that same reason i can also see it being unlikely. a raptor track ride though is a horrible idea considering those are made for less popular parks, and CW has insane attendance.
I’m wandering if we are going to see more of this removed throughout the chain 😰

I’m surprised the park wouldn’t consider relocating the ride to a different area of the park considering it’s one of the few upcharge attractions at the park.
I rarely see anyone on it anymore so it makes sense.

I found Time Warp and The Great Canadian Mine Buster just as bad if not worse than Flight Deck, but that's probably because I was warned about how bad it was. Soarin' Eagle at Coney Island was better than all three, and Wilde Beast was actually not bad in the front.

Dont you have to pay extra fot Xs? I have never ridden that, so im ok with it going. I havent ridden Time Warp yet and i dont think i want, its rough and painful so ive heard. Get rid of them both. Im excited to ride the new coaster, the B&M Wing launch, so cool. We will see what happens.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I really enjoy Tomb Raider. Sadly, any time I wanted to ride it this year, it wasn't open.
I wouldn’t be so confident in that. When Minebuster is pulling almost a million riders a year and Flight Deck is just breaking 400,000 it’s a no brainer

@AmusementInsiders I WISH Top Gun had a smoother ride. I'd be more interested in going on it if it weren't a mosh pit for my head.
Minebuster is still a classic, but needs to be revitalized, SOMEHOW, to make it less rough. Intensity is great. Bone-shattering roughness is not (though I learned, after a couple of rides during Haunt, that the middle is okay. It's the front and back that have the hard hits).
Where does one find such numbers? I'd love to give that a read.@@AmusementInsiders
