You do know that The Bat has a single rider line, right? Using that, you can skip pretty much the whole line. When I went last October with one of my buds, they even allowed us to sit next to each other, despite it being a single rider line. It sucks that this and Yukon Striker are the only rides at the park to have single rider lines. I'm hoping the 2025 coaster gets one too.
@@banana_bread5457 My original comment was from 6 months ago, dude. How could I have known at the time that months later, Behemoth would also get a single rider line? I ain't no time traveler.
Visited the park once with someone who had never ridden the Ghoster Coaster, even as a kid. As we were in line, I told her not to underestimate this "kiddie coaster", but I don't think she really believed me - until that first drop. "Told ya," I said, as she gasped in surprise. And for the parents out there, kids who can't get enough of this ride are probably ready to take on the adult coasters, height permitting.
I've heard that Skyrider was actually one of the more enjoyable TOGO stand-up coasters ever built, so I think your prediction on where it would've been placed was lower than it should have been. If you want to know for sure what it was like, you can still ride at a park in Italy where it currently operates today.
"Flight Deck" aka Top Gun does kind of give you brain damage with all the rattling, but crazy to put it outside of the top 10. Before some of the newer coasters were built, that and the Bat were probably the best draws in the park!
growing up I always heard everyone complain about flightdeck and timewarp so it's super funny to me to start watching enthusiast videos and everybody hates them both here as well haha I always went on timewarp even if it kinda hurt because I thought the lay-down carriages were so cool good video :)
the thing about the minebuster -- the thrill isn't supposed to come from the drops, it's supposed to come from thinking you're going to collapse at any moment on those rickety old wooden rails 💀😂
great video! i find your information on the make and different structures in the coasters so interesting because it gives a more technical perspective to the rides! also knowing the history and age of the coasters somehow humanizes them to me, makes it kinda sad knowing when things don't work out well 😅
I lived not too far from Canada's Wonderland and I grew up riding the Wildebeest and Great Canadian Mindbuster. I tend not to find most rollercoasters all that rough and still love how wooden rollercoasters throw you around a bit. They are still two of my favorites.
Some great coasters, but sometimes I wish Wonderland would diversify into other experiences as well. I absolutely agree with your rankings BTW. Spot on. The rides that lost their original name almost seem pointlessly generic now. Like if The Asslyum made a Top Gun rip off movie, it would probably be called Flight Deck. lol I like being at the absolute front of Vortex just as it's coming off the mountain and suddenly there's nothing under you. Skyrider was a huge amount of fun. I didn't find it rough at all.
My husband and I just went this past weekend and your list is extremely accurate to how I would have ranked the coasters! Not including the kid coasters, we haven’t done any of those ones yet. We also went in 2021 and didn’t bother with flight deck and time warp this time around, those were terrible and we felt awful afterwards. We did Minebuster this time and I don’t remember it being so horrible, but I’ll never ride that one again. The only thing I would change on your list is not putting Wildebeast as high, but that’s my own dislike for how shakey wooden coasters are (I have a weak stomach 🥴), but I did still like the ride much more than Minebuster. Great ranking 😊👍🏼
I went many, many years ago with family. I rode the bat, the stand-up coster, and a couple of other things before we got on the mind buster. The whole ride bounced up and down, almost like it was violently vibrating your cart the entire time. This ended our family's outing. It caused 2 people in our party to have a full-on asthma attack. We had to leave. Now, I live in the States and will probably never get to return. Sad. (Edit): I'm not sure what year it would have been, but I remember the park being Hanna Barbera themed.
Leaving out all coasters I have never been on... Adding rides too. 1: Behemoth, the airtime is so good 2: Yukon striker, It's a good ride and holds many records 3: Leviathan, It's good, but doesn't have much airtime and the freefall and ride in total feels way too short. 4: Minebuster, I don't understand all the hate?! It's good! 5: Backlot stunt coaster, a LOT of force! Pretty good! 6: Sledgehammer and Psyclone, A lot of that stomach dropping feeling. 7: Wilde beast, It's more smooth than minebuster but is way shorter and freefall gives less force, Overall, an average ride 8: Time warp, It's nice. But bumpy 9: Dragon Fyre, It used to be my go-to coaster but now is too bumpy. 10: All kiddie coasters. Very short. 11: Barracuda Blaster, Way too short 12: Klockworks, Not enough force 13: Soaring timbers, Im not saying it's bad... I'm just saying its really calm. 14: Swing of the century 15: Vortex, Got back pain, Got head fractures, Broke all of my limbs, Got a concussion, Got a hemorrhage... You get it 16: Knightmares and windseeker, They're not too good 17: Flight deck, Who thought of making this?! 18: Drop tower… why, just why???
Toronto here... Time Warp in -10c/14f winter freezing sleet would be an epic viral challenge. Yukon Striker - its finale 'mini dive' is to stagger for 3 trains, keeping lines moving better than expected. Bonus for its award winning loose belongings cart system overhead the station track. Personally my fav coaster because epic smooth, champion on-ride vista (arguably top 5 I've seen anywhere), & my fav set of elements in a single ride.
I went to Canada's Wonderland for the first time in 2014. First ride I rode was Wonder Mountain Guardian, and the line was insane when it first opened. I didn't even remember them giving 3D glasses back then but maybe my memory is just bad. I don't really care for it much when I go nowadays, it's just a one and done ride. That first visit in 2014 I also rode Skyrider my one and only time. I do remember liking it, and the standup restraints are what made the ride unique. My friend rode it a second time later in the day, but it ended up getting stuck the the way up. I heard that was a common issue with it. Crazy to think it's been 10 years since my first visit, I was too scared to go on Behemoth and Leviathan, and now those are my first go to rides when I go now lol
You're bang on with the bottom two. I went there a couple of weeks ago, and my head was throbbing from all the banging they did. If you value your brain cells, don't go on Time Warp or Flight Deck
Two things: 1. I agree Time Warp was weird and not a great ride, but Flight Deck actually beat me up more on my trip, so Flight Deck actually ranks below Time Warp for me 2. Behemoth got really repetitive and boring for me after the first two camel backs. I actually put it behind Vortex!
I remember the first time I rode on Leviathan and just wanted to go back on Behemoth, could be because it was my first ride on that kind of coaster. Always the best in my heart
So I live very close to Canada's Wonderland and have been on all the coasters multiple times so I thought I would share my thoughts If you wear glasses I highy recommend skipping Time Warp as it is VERY easy to have them fall off (I recommend skipping it anyways as it also sucks as a coaster) I can also confirm that The Fly does always run like that. I will also say that Canadian Minebuster doesn't usually suck at the end as much as you described. Most of the time it is actually the smoothest of the 3 wooden coasters so it sucks that when you went it wasn't very great. Wonder Mountain's Guardian is a lot worse than it used to be. I found that around half the time the shooting doesn't even work (not just that shoots are accurate but some guns just don't work entirely) One thing about Vortex is that it has REALLY gone downhill. In the past the ride was quite good and was reasonably smooth but when I last went in early 2023 the ride was easily a bottom 3 coaster because of how rough and shaky it was (it was so bad myself and multiple other guests had bad headaches from it). On that day the parts were in desperate need of replacement/repairs. Note: this was early 2023 so it is quite possible that these issues have been fixed/nullify now.
@@Badmedicine88 I went again earlier this year and I can confirm that several of the issues with Vortex do seem to have been smoothed out since my last time going in 2023. (I do recommend avoiding the back most carriage though)
In high school my friends and I had Seasons passes for Canada's Wonderland and we basically went every other week the whole summer for like 3 ish years! Good memories, I remember one time it was supposed to be a gross day but ended up being beautiful and we rode the Behemoth 8 times in a row! Sadly, as an Adult I haven't had the chance to go. So the only one I haven't rode on was Yukon Striker.
They should give Wilde Beast a Gravity Group retrack. It has the same layout as Grizzly at Kings Dominion, and that ride got retracked and is great now that the roughness is largely gone
I big agree with your top 5. Those are the rides I would always want to go on whenever I went (minus Yukon Striker, since I have only gone on once since I have only went to Wonderland once since that ride open. That's just what happens when you're no longer a kid, I suppose. But from that one ride, it would be in one of my must rides next time I go). And your bottom two is perfect. I've only ridden each of those once, and hated them instantly. Sky Rider also sucked.
I like mighty Canadian minebuster more than Wilde beast because the first hill is super strong, and the final helix is great, I also love how it goes under the slides. I thought Wilde beast was so rough it almost muffled the forces. Like the airtime didn’t feel like airtime it felt like a weird pause in the jackhammering
SkyRider was awesome. I went to CW in 2019 after not having gone since 1999, and was saddened that SkyRider was gone. Dragon's Fyre is one of my perennial faves at CW, but it really needs to be a little faster.
That drop on the Leviathan does feel like it lasts forever. That’s exactly how I explain that roller coaster. Thought that 1 would be the number 1 pick.
Besides the Rmc everyone wants another addition I would love to see is for them to rip out the trash combo next to each other and put in a vekoma 1 2 combo of a boomerang and a stc. The boomerang would be an added bonus then they would get a new invert and a brand new coaster type for North America. And cedar fair is working with vekoma.
I got LUCKY, I got to ride sky rider before it was torn down and it was my first upside ride, I still remember my sister telling me not to lock my knees lol it was actually extremely fun and I really do miss it. The vortex brings me nightmares from when I was younger, it bashed my head around so much I had a migraine and it ruined the rest of my day. My fav ride however will always be the psyclone, not sure why but I love it the most it's just so... Relaxing? Especially at night with all the lights, same goes for the wind seeker at night oh my GOD it's beautiful, terrifying going up and being on the inside but so nice to ride on the outside.
I’m going to Canada’s wonderland in 4 days, and I honestly will say mine buster has to be my favourite ride at the place (Yukon striker and vortex are very close contenders). Mine buster probably has one of the most shortest lines I’ve seen at Canada’s wonderland and that makes me love it more. Also mine buster at night is the best time to ride it because during nighttime, there’s no line at all. Plus it seems faster than during the daytime.
If I had to say anything about Canada's Wonderland, they have an amazing flat-ride selection. After the Top 3 Coasters, it's a "rough ride" coaster pun intended.
So were you able to ride Taxi Jam? IIRC, I wasn’t allowed to ride, I think? Also, I love your appreciation for Thunder Run - I’m a sucker for originality and weirdness in a coaster, so I had a blast on it.
I'm hoping whatever multi-launch that's coming out way takes out both Flight Deck and Time Warp next season. They're more focusing on rebranding World Expo and I believe their time at Frontier Canada has slowed down after recent years. Also Minebuster had a lot of work done this passed offseason, so hopefully it'll be much smoother now,
I used to yearly to CWL but haven't been in many years. Had no idea they got rid of sky rider, really devastating since that was my first inversion. Minebuster and beast were brutal back then so I can only imagine how back they are now
Had seasons passes for a few yrs going back to '91-'93 (??) The cheapest season was $60 😂😂 I would go on overcast days, wed- Thursdays, or when school trips aren't on in last 3 weeks of June used to get on rides pretty quick
Sky Rider for sure was my favourite while it was around, with Behemoth and Vortex behind it. It was a similar experience to Flight Deck depending on how tall you were though, your head would get hit between the cushions a ton and would suck or it wouldn't at all and was really fun depending on your height
My home park... Minebuster used to be far better than it is now, it's been neutered over the years. Both Minebuster and Wilde Beast need the Gravity Group treatment.
I can't do more than 7 at this park! 7: Wilde Beast front row 6: Dragon Fyre back car 5: Back Lot Stunt Coaster 4: Vortex back car 3: Yukon Striker 2: Leviathan 1 Behemoth (Back car)
I just bought a season pass and going live stream the park today im excited to experience this park, I haven't been since I was a teenager 22 years ago
I'm bias towards wooden coasters, and I agree Wilde Beast is the better of the three at Canada's Wonderland, however Mighty Canadian Mindbuster is truly excellent. ESPECIALLY if the rails are wet, I've been to the park over 200 times and the best ride was ALWAYS Mindbuster in the rain. No other coaster is affected SO much by moisture. The second drop is almost as intense as the first. Awesome Wooden Relic. Plus going on a rainy day has the added bonus of very short lines.
The reason Backlot doesn’t stop at the helicopter scene is because there’s some sort of Canadian law prohibiting them from having pyrotechnics on rides. However if you notice, this one has water in the moat, unlike all the other Backlots at other cf parks. You win some, you lose some, I guess.🤷🏻♀️
The issue with wonderland is that it has the 3rd most coasters in the world, but unlike Cedar Point, there is a lack of overall quality in terms of the ride selection, only about 7 or 8 or the rides are anything above decent.
The New Yukon Striker is great. I'd say Behemoth, Yukon then Leviathan. The Fly is underrated and awesome for kids and family but the wait times usually really hurt the experience.
Dude, I’ve been on the Wilde beast 100 times it’s awesome. In my opinion the mine Buster is even better. Some of us actually enjoy the rough ride on gravel that’s what made me love the mind Buster long ago and I still love that kind of ride. It’s what differentiates a wooden roller coaster from a modern steel coaster to me. I love some smooth with a diver or something like that but I appreciate a mid rough hyper like Magnum 200 Xl and despise the smooth boringness of the weakness that they call Millenium Force.
Gotta be just about the only park in the world where *two* thrill coasters rank below the kiddie coaster where you're taller than the track.

@@banana_bread5457 My original comment was from 6 months ago, dude. How could I have known at the time that months later, Behemoth would also get a single rider line? I ain't no time traveler.
@@mack_r-s My bad I didn’t really know when the single rider line got added I just know that it’s there.
3 months of asking on every park ranking video finally paid off.
In the 90's it was all about the Bat and Top Gun
growing up I always heard everyone complain about flightdeck and timewarp so it's super funny to me to start watching enthusiast videos and everybody hates them both here as well haha
I always went on timewarp even if it kinda hurt because I thought the lay-down carriages were so cool
good video :)
the thing about the minebuster -- the thrill isn't supposed to come from the drops, it's supposed to come from thinking you're going to collapse at any moment on those rickety old wooden rails 💀😂
Flight Deck is rough but I actually love it, I also happen to absolutely love Minebuster.
great video! i find your information on the make and different structures in the coasters so interesting because it gives a more technical perspective to the rides! also knowing the history and age of the coasters somehow humanizes them to me, makes it kinda sad knowing when things don't work out well 😅
Hey Chris. Would love to see a video where you talk about all of your credits. I'm very curious to see all the coasters you've ridden
When I hit 100k i promised i would rank them all
I am going to this park for the first time in 2024, and I am really excited! I love your videos!! Keep up the good work!!!!
Time warp, Flight deck, and Minebuster are so good.
There’s just something about the rides that just relentlessly beat the shit out of you that I find really fun lmao
I lived not too far from Canada's Wonderland and I grew up riding the Wildebeest and Great Canadian Mindbuster. I tend not to find most rollercoasters all that rough and still love how wooden rollercoasters throw you around a bit. They are still two of my favorites.
Rode them all. Very accurate list.
I remember riding Skyrider back in the 90’s. I think it was another one that tended to bang your head against the restraints if I remember correctly.
FINALLY CANADA'S WONDERLAND GETTING THE APPRECIATION IT DESERVES💪💪💪🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I went many, many years ago with family. I rode the bat, the stand-up coster, and a couple of other things before we got on the mind buster. The whole ride bounced up and down, almost like it was violently vibrating your cart the entire time. This ended our family's outing. It caused 2 people in our party to have a full-on asthma attack. We had to leave. Now, I live in the States and will probably never get to return. Sad.
(Edit): I'm not sure what year it would have been, but I remember the park being Hanna Barbera themed.
Pretty much the only change id make to you list is move time warp up 10 spots. Spot on taste mate.
Canada’s wonderland used to have a Togo stand up from 1985-2014 which was relocated to a park in Italy
yeah skyrider
Its a pretty fun ride best standup coaster ive done so far. Its a bit basic but thats not problem for a standup one.
Leaving out all coasters I have never been on... Adding rides too.
1: Behemoth, the airtime is so good
2: Yukon striker, It's a good ride and holds many records
3: Leviathan, It's good, but doesn't have much airtime and the freefall and ride in total feels way too short.
4: Minebuster, I don't understand all the hate?! It's good!
5: Backlot stunt coaster, a LOT of force! Pretty good!
6: Sledgehammer and Psyclone, A lot of that stomach dropping feeling.
7: Wilde beast, It's more smooth than minebuster but is way shorter and freefall gives less force, Overall, an average ride
8: Time warp, It's nice. But bumpy
9: Dragon Fyre, It used to be my go-to coaster but now is too bumpy.
10: All kiddie coasters. Very short.
11: Barracuda Blaster, Way too short
12: Klockworks, Not enough force
13: Soaring timbers, Im not saying it's bad... I'm just saying its really calm.
14: Swing of the century
15: Vortex, Got back pain, Got head fractures, Broke all of my limbs, Got a concussion, Got a hemorrhage... You get it
16: Knightmares and windseeker, They're not too good
17: Flight deck, Who thought of making this?!
18: Drop tower… why, just why???
I never go one Sledgehammer. When I was a kid, it was always out of order so I don't trust it one bit.
@@vegetables1593 yea… it’s always out of order but it’s really fun
I came here to hear you go off on Time Warp and was not disappointed. 😂
The top 3 that you chose are perfect
Knowing our luck, Six Flags Cedar Fair will end its delinquency with the City of Montreal by moving MindBender here.
I can agree with your list,I haven’t bine on all the coasters there but I will be going on Yukon striker for the first time
You're bang on with the bottom two. I went there a couple of weeks ago, and my head was throbbing from all the banging they did. If you value your brain cells, don't go on Time Warp or Flight Deck
good thing minebuster is getting retracked
Two things:
1. I agree Time Warp was weird and not a great ride, but Flight Deck actually beat me up more on my trip, so Flight Deck actually ranks below Time Warp for me
2. Behemoth got really repetitive and boring for me after the first two camel backs. I actually put it behind Vortex!
Wilde Beast is underrated, I enjoyed it
Finally the prophecy has been completed
I remember the first time I rode on Leviathan and just wanted to go back on Behemoth, could be because it was my first ride on that kind of coaster. Always the best in my heart
So I live very close to Canada's Wonderland and have been on all the coasters multiple times so I thought I would share my thoughts
If you wear glasses I highy recommend skipping Time Warp as it is VERY easy to have them fall off (I recommend skipping it anyways as it also sucks as a coaster)
I can also confirm that The Fly does always run like that.
I found that around half the time the shooting doesn't even work (not just that shoots are accurate but some guns just don't work entirely)
One thing about Vortex is that it has REALLY gone downhill.
I was on Vortex last week and it felt smother than the last time I rode it in 2019
@@Badmedicine88 I went again earlier this year and I can confirm that several of the issues with Vortex do seem to have been smoothed out since my last time going in 2023.
Pretty sure the second half of minbuster is being retracted this year, I really hope it helps with the roughness.
You are correct - it's in process as I type this
@@steveprodanovski you watch amusement insiders right
Trying to go here this year
Really good vid Chris very interesting top 18❤
I agree that Leviathan is #1! The first drop from the back row is incredible!
Celebrating my 20th year at Canada’s Wonderland this summer. Been going every year since I was 13. Absolute, Ontario treasure.✨
My favorite Coaster youtuber making a vid on my home park! What more could I ask for?
if my day couldnt get any better
Nooo you did time warp dirty. I love that one
nice ranking
I would love to see your ranking of all canada's wonderland flat rides you have been on
My Rankings
1 Behemoth
2 Levithian
3 Yukon Striker
4 Vortex
5 Wonder Mountain's Guardian (Last Rode This In 2022 Btw)
6 Backlot Stunt Coaster
7 Wilde Beast
8 Dragon Fyre
9 Snoopy's Racing Railway
10 Ghoster Coaster
11 Fly
12 The Bat (Worst Vekoma Boomerang)
13 Thunder Run
14 Mighty Canadian Minebuster (The Worst Wooden Coaster)
15 Taxi Jam
16 Flight Deck (The Worst SLC)
17 Time Warp
18 Silver Streak (My Least Favorite Coaster Of All Time)
I like mighty Canadian minebuster more than Wilde beast because the first hill is super strong, and the final helix is great, I also love how it goes under the slides.
Canadian Minebuster is the BEST because it’s so rocky and shaky, it’s part of the immersion!
Love Wildebeast, used to ride it 10+ times back to back.
He probably had Sophie with him.
@@DoswarePictures Yeah, maybe - good call.
Yeah I rode with Sophie this past summer
I'm hoping whatever multi-launch that's coming out way takes out both Flight Deck and Time Warp next season. They're more focusing on rebranding World Expo and I believe their time at Frontier Canada has slowed down after recent years. Also Minebuster had a lot of work done this passed offseason, so hopefully it'll be much smoother now,
for my opinion i agree on everything except the top 3. for me its 3. Behemoth 2. Leviathan 1. Yukon Striker
It may be old but Vortex is the best arrow suspended coaster in the world. Such a blast to ride.
I used to love skyrider and didn't realize it was gone. It was classic and I thought it was a ton of fun and I'm afraid of heights
I’ve been like 50 times but this man has been on more than me!
this ranking is so real
Sky Rider for sure was my favourite while it was around, with Behemoth and Vortex behind it. It was a similar experience to Flight Deck depending on how tall you were though, your head would get hit between the cushions a ton and would suck or it wouldn't at all and was really fun depending on your height
My home park... Minebuster used to be far better than it is now, it's been neutered over the years. Both Minebuster and Wilde Beast need the Gravity Group treatment.
I swear I remember before Splash Works Minebuster used to have more bunny hills and definitely got air on it. But I could be wrong, I was young.
@@jeffgreen5429 yeah they merged to hills into one long useless one on the way out... and they turned two into a double down on the way back.
I can't do more than 7 at this park!
7: Wilde Beast front row
6: Dragon Fyre back car
5: Back Lot Stunt Coaster
4: Vortex back car
3: Yukon Striker
2: Leviathan
1 Behemoth (Back car)
Vortex is just classic, intense enough to be exciting but easy enough for almost anyone to ride
I just came back from Toronto for a trip. Our favourite was the Yukon Striker and our least favourite was the Vortex because it was so jolty
The New Yukon Striker is great. I'd say Behemoth, Yukon then Leviathan.
The Fly is underrated and awesome for kids and family but the wait times usually really hurt the experience.
okay, the low ranking for flight deck is understandable, but im surprised with the raking of time warp, i honestly love the ride.
yukon striker for me is number 1 its so smooth
Dude, I’ve been on the Wilde beast 100 times it’s awesome. In my opinion the mine Buster is even better.
Some of us actually enjoy the rough ride on gravel that’s what made me love the mind Buster long ago and I still love that kind of ride. It’s what differentiates a wooden roller coaster from a modern steel coaster to me. I love some smooth with a diver or something like that but I appreciate a mid rough hyper like Magnum 200 Xl and despise the smooth boringness of the weakness that they call Millenium Force.
Flight Deck was My FAVORTIE Coaster there Plenty of Roughness for the family but seriously Leviathan and Yukon Striker were the highlights of my trip
