I'm a Turkish cook and I worked in several countries for the past 17 years. One of the most popular kebabs is chicken sish and it is very easy to make in your kitchen. Cut the chicken breast in about 2 inch cubes. Then marinate for a couple of hours in salad oil, thyme, salt, pepper, a spoonful of tomato paste (you can use paprika if you don't like tomato paste), also some cumin. Skewer them and cook on a grill. It will taste just like the ones you buy at kebab joints. It's very hard to mess it up. Anyone can do it.

Never watched this video until today but I've basically tried exactly the same some time in the last year or so, was quite a bit of hassle due to unfamiliarity and worries of the meat tower falling over in my oven, but the result was so worth it!

A kebab with soy sauce and brown sugar? As a Turk and kebab enthusiast, I am truly shocked. That will not taste like kebab, I am telling you, but still interesting recipes.
Hahaha how about "Greek" yoğurt and using "pork" shoulder for kebab.
I mean I'm okey with pork shoulder even if you can't find it in Turkey yet what is "Greek" yoğurt? What makes it different? What is it's specialty that makes people call it's "Greek"? Lmao
@@sirsariarslan lol yeah, only difference between "greek yoghurt" and yoghurt is names.
It is just marketing campaign, in USA, a yoghurt selling company that uses traditional recipes realized that putting greek name to it increased sales, and other companies followed and it sticked. So basically, it is fully the same thing (other than all those chemicals of course).
@@vengion1379 it's named Greek just because they strain off a lot of water out of yoğurt which tickens yoğurt. Actually my grandma does it for years.

Finally recipes from Tasty where they ACTUALLY season the food properly!
Made the first recipe was absolutely delicious the family loved it, but didn't feel like a kebab but chicken chunks great with naan I used less yoghurt
Go to Santorini they have many restaurants serve this type of food.

chicken gyros are built that way so that the exterior meat gets toasted after the previous layer gets shaved off. There is no use in making it in an oven
