The DS4 is BEAUTIFUL 😍😍😍 The last DS4 wasn’t the best looking posh small family hatchback but DS have really step their game up. The interior is so beautiful, so lavish and so well put together. It is on par with the 1 series’s build quality and much better than the build quality of an A Class/ A3/ Giulietta/ CT. In the back, it is probably not as spacious as a 1 Series or A Class but it is on par with an A3 and much much better than a Giulietta. And the boot is bigger than all of them making it the biggest boot of the posh small family hatchback class! My question is, can it come with an Automated Tailgate? Great review What Car

Looks amazing for the price. Great tech too. I don't understand why people keep buying overpriced german "premium" cars when cars like this exist. Keep in mind that german manufacturers base models appear "cheap enough" because they offer almost anything as "extra" that other manufacturers include in the base models.

To be fair, part of the blame for this madness falls on car reviewers. For years and years they bashed cars for "buttonitis", so the designers went on to eliminate buttons and put everything on a touch screen. Except that it turns that from an ergonomics point of view, it's not really very good. I think there should be some middle ground, climate and audio settings should be buttons and knobs, all the rest should be accessed through the touch screen.

In terms of design, this completely blows away the competition. The impressive and pretty details utterly overshadow the current German pitiful attempts at design. With the Mercedes a class being too blobby and anonymous, the Audi A3 being horrendously overdesigned and the BMW 1 series simply being rather ugly, this is refreshingly gorgeous on the exterior.
the interior also shines compared to the German counterparts. The concept-like and expensive appearance beats the well designed Mercedes solely by the fact the whole interior looks great instead of just the dashboard. It also looks much better than the boring and strangely proportioned BMWs interior. The DS also beats the Audi because the Audi A3 once again laughably overdesigned and doesn't appear to have the best quality.

Might start from £25k which is a bit more than a golf/seat/insertblandgermannamehere but have you driven a poverty spec german car? It looks, feels and is so sparse on anything, you'd wish you were driving anything else. Whereas a poverty spec DS4 will still have lots of kit. You have to compare like for like. If DS4 comes with climate control for example, that spec must be optioned. Got a friend with a brand new A1 poverty spec... no climate control, old style horrible auto gearshift too! I could go on but you get my point.

Brand name? Exclusivity? You must live in the late 80s to mid 90s in your mind, Cause in today's world all those premium brands have lost the plot in so many ways that at the end of the day a DS makes more sense. Not because it is better but because it is exactly the same but you will not see your dozen of neighbours driving one. And that sounds a bit more premium.

I think it's the best DS yet and is perhaps more stylish than its German rivals. But it still seems like it's trying too hard to be stylish above all else so seems superficial, and you know it's just the usual PSA underpinnings that aren't going to be class leading. And it's not electric. When you compare it to something like the VW ID3, which is an all new platform, a car engineered inside and out for a purpose, not just glitter on the surface, the DS doesn't look so good. I wouldn't buy a DS anything at the moment unfortunately and still expect the brand to end in just a few years.

well... I was absolutely impressed by the build quality, by the materials used in their cabins, and especially by the sheer craftsmanship and the attention to detail (DS 3CB and DS 4CB)... it's simply breathtakingly stunning, especially DS7. so, if we are talking about this kind of "perceived image", they have nothing to be ashamed of... ;).

Not coming close to BMW's perceived image can be a good thing as well as a bad thing. Just as there's lots of people who buy Beemers for the image, there's a lot would never buy one because of their image. The real difficulty DS have is how UK buyers react to French cars in general. If you can push past the Brownshirts, they can be very rewarding.

Out of date why? Why every clueless person thinks EVs are just going to replace everything in 2-3 years? It is impossible, the power infastructure can't support it in any country in the world. As for devaluation, with the rate EV tech is improving, especially for batteries, by the time EVs become mandatory they are going to be much better and much cheaper than now, so current EVs are going to devalue just as badly.

(3 years old rental vehicle is most likely in rather "not that impressive" state even in Sweeden... :D)
and you have to bear in mind that qualitative difference in perceived quality, level of finish, used materials, and built-in tech of current DS, compared to its "Citroen sibling" built on the same platform is greater than it is with Audi compared to VW... :/
