@@Bluebell_uk - Everyone "picks up" on it, man. It's not like it's a hidden detail. There's just no reason to point it out, unless you have some kind of reaction to it, that compels you to comment on it (like this guy, for example).

Thanks for the reaction. I'm a huge fan of VoicePlay for a lot of reasons. #1: No matter how much fun they have (and they have a LOT) they are always intensely musical. Some of their harmonies and arrangements just knock me out. (They almost always write their own. Usually Geoff - the bass singer, and Layne, the beatboxer) #2 They share the lead. There isn't one main singer, they're all outrageous and they pass it around. #3 They bring in a lot of outside talent to sing with them and mix things up - and they always end up sounding like they've been together forever anyway.

Love your reaction. I love most of what they do. The bass singer in this, Geoff Castellucci,has a 4-5 octave range snd has made many solo videos to show it off, He has just released his version of Misty Mountains Cold. It is awesome. Literally. And FYI Arranged, produced, filmed, performed, and edited by Geoff Castellucci
Since you are new to VoicePlay you might give their version of Carry On Wayward Son a listen.
They are a great A Capella group, they like to get in to character for their songs. PTX and Voiceplay are two different 'rabbit holes" to explore. For Voiceplay, I'd suggest This is Halloween and Mean One Mr Grinch but for their bass guy alone, Geoff Castellucci here are several songs : 16 tons, Blackbird (the Paul McCartney), Headless Horseman (from an old Disney movie) and the old John Denver one, Take me Home Country Road (but have your sub-woofers ready for that one!)
Love me some Voiceplay. As you check them out, don't shy away from their older stuff. Can't Help Falling in Love and Bridge of Troubled Water can make an angel weep.
I love anything VoicePlay and all Geoffs covers. He hooked me with his cover of Sixteen Tons. That was a rubber snake and plastic spiders. You can get the mouth lights on amazon. I have heard that Santa Claus is Geoff's brother-in-law.
Honestly hun you can't truly compare PTX and VoicePlay.. they have similarities, sure, but they are definitely on their own paths. I have been fans of both of them, and Home Free, since they all appeared on the Sing-Off. Granted that was a competitive show, but since then they each truly hold their own unique power and vibe, while not really being in competition for who is better. You don't have to like one more than the other, just show and spread support for them all.

Out of ALL the times I've seen this i never noticed the worms til you said something. You can't go wrong with ANY Voiceplay video. PTX was a number 1 favorite of mine til Avi left. Voiceplay has fast become my number one .favorite acapella group, then Home Free. I do still listen to PTX just not as much anymore. Loved your reaction, will def be back😊❤️

Its probably a fake snake and not a worm because in the song at that point he says ” I might just cook a special batch of snakes and spider stew ” and he also has in his hands fake spiders, but anyway since I listened this cover I loved it. You don't have to pick a favorite. Each group is unique and you're allowed to enjoy them all.
VoicePlay is a blast and you have a lot of suggestions in these comments. I'd suggest listening to Geoff's cover of The Beatles Blackbird. Thats my favorite Geoff song and shows his versatility. Definitely hit up VoicPlay's My Mother Told Me. By the way, my hunch is they were gummy worms but I wasn't there .

PTX does more pop music, though of course they do some of a lot of genres. Voice play does a lot of show music, like this one. Home Free then does a lot of country as well as some pop. They are all just great. Not competitors at all I think, but in compliment to each other. There are a few other vocal groups out there, but most get too choir-ish for my likes.
This bass singer, Geoff Castelucci, is so far the unofficial U-Tube lowest bass. Watch him do "16 Tons" for one of his best examples.
actually... Tim Foust from Home Free hits a C#1 while Geoff only gets to Eb1... yet only a full step away and I am sure most people will never hear the difference... but Tim is the lowest bass. I am NOT taking away the skills that Geoff has as I think he is also Awesome. Also, Avi Kaplan former PTX bass can reach an E1... three awesome bass singers
@@stevestarr3160 Tim's lowest is such a chest growl that I hesitate to call it a musical note, even though I love him. Avi's is always the cleanest, but perhaps I'm behind in the latest news on basso profundos. LOL

@@SilverDestinyReactions Yes, several of them. Most real worms are not bright cherry red. Red wrigglers (which I fed to pet salamanders) are a dull brownish red. More brown than red. The salamanders thought they were quite the treat, but what do they know, they also eat crickets and roaches.

VoicePlay has undergone a bit of a lineup change since this video dropped; 2 out, 1 in. One of their latest treasures in If I Were A Rich Man/Girl, with a wonderful female guest singer. J None, who left to join the Navy got leave and came back to record Friends On the Other Side from The Princes and the Frog with them. Three special videos of theirs that I hope you react to are Phantom of the Opera, Just Sing (turn on closed caption) and the HALO Theme (it's important to keep listening after the music ends). And watch Boy Bands in 5 Minutes to see the mentioned guy walk by and hand the singer a sandwich. Their bass singer, Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci has a 5 octave range, just a little less than Tim Foust. Geoff has some wonderful "solo" videos out. My favorite is Monster Mash.

My opinion I love Voiceplay and PTX but I am a Home Fry 100%. HOME FREE has just a way of making your soul happy any song you pick of theirs is a guaranteed good time.

More Voiceplay!!
PTX are pop and Classical, Home Free are Country and pop, Voice Play more pop and musical theatre. Different genres, each at the top of their genre, in my opinion. Try 'Carry on My Wayward Son' by Voiceplay, or 'Tennessee Whiskey', less theatre, more singing.
I think my current favorites are their Moana Medley and their Billie Eilish medley

Now first, I love acapela, but anyone who does acapela now after Pentatonix has come to the business have to step up. PTX has 3 Grammy Awards, so Voicceplay has to do things to be in the game of being noticed. But they are in the top 3: PTX, Home Free, & Voiceplay.
