Still in Dailies AquaComfort Plus Multifocals (years), but felt vision wasn't as crisp. Trialed Bausch + Lomb BioTrue OneDay for Presbyopia. Far vision was earth-shattering. As in, I can see individual leaves 2 blocks away, clearly with no blurring at all. But...I struggle to read my Apple watch or iPhone, or even computer screen. After years of decent results from the Dailies AquaComfort Plus MF's, I do not buy into the idea that I have to suddenly wear reading glasses all the time. I even had a hard time seeing my car gauges clearly, despite some pulling back on the distance prescription. Bonus though was wearing them at a stadium for a football game! I am going back this week and based on everyone's comments, will ask for a trial of the Acuvue Moist Multifocal daily lenses. At worst, I go back to what I have been in. It's just hard now, knowing how much better my distance vision could be in a different brand.
Could you make an updated video?🙏I love your videos, but since this is 3years ago - there are probably a lot of new contacts on the market since then. I need contacts for distance and near but my eyes are so dry that they burn. I’d truly appreciate an updated video about best multifocal lenses for (very)dry eyes🙏Thank you so much in advance🩷
I use the Bausch & Lomb Ultra for presbyopia. Life-changing. Took very little time to adjust to them and they work great. Also one of the few contacts that are comfortable on my eyes all day long. Highly recommend.
My prescription is -2.25 +1.50 in each eye. For near, I have best success with BioFinity, wearing D lens in each eye. I can read tiny print up close and I can read small text on my computer. But for distance, there is a lot of ghosting and seemingly lack of power so I can't wear them for playing tennis and it's really hard to see while driving at night. For distance, I have had success with a bunch of center near aspheric designs such as Proclear daily, Dailies, Acuvue Oasys, and these all work great for distance - they seem just like my non-multifocal lenses in fact. But for near, all of these lenses have such bad ghosting that I cannot read ANYTHING up close and have constant blurred vision even on my computer. I've tried wearing a different type in each eye, but I find my eyes get tired more quickly. My next step is to try BioFinity with a higher prescription for distance. Any suggestions? Oh, and my go to lens at this point is Acuvue Oasys 1-day -2.25. They're super comfortable, I can see at night fine, but I can't read up close like when I'm texting on my phone or when on my computer if the website has really fine print.
Going in for multifocals next week. I guess 47 yrs old is my time lol. I have bad allergies so I have to go daily. Dr could you please tell me in your experience which of the 3 you recommend Biotrue,Acuvue or Total has the best transition from far to near or vice versa? That is my biggest concern with multifocal. I have excellent vision insurance so if money does not matter would the Total be the best? Thanks for your help!
Thanks for the information. Can you describe why you chose Bausch & Lomb over the competition? Do they not also have the center/near technology you mentioned?
Love my vision with B&L Ultra but within an hour of inserting, they are dry and feel like they’re lifting off my eye followed by blurry vision. Not sure what the issue. I have an eye doc appointment tomorrow as I continue my multi focal contacts quest.
I've been wearing progressives since I was 17 with an astigmatism. I tried once, because that's all they had in like 2005 lol to get contacts. They were awful. Finally going back and will try to get some that work and have been watching reviews hoping that in the 20 years the advancements will get me out of wearing glasses. I am so bad about wearing mine especially with sports.

Could this be the reason, because they are "low oxygen"? I am far sided and use readers, so I need help up close and short distance, without messing with my distance vision
Haven’t found one that works for me yet. They work fine for distance, but I get absolutely no improvement for reading. Maybe because I have steep corneas. Any ideas?
Everyone is different but I find it can take a couple of weeks. Of course, if you’re unsatisfied after that time, schedule a prescription check and see if your doctor can make any adjustments to improve your vision.
I went to my eye doctor today and he said that my prescription is too high to use multifocal contacts. I wonder if he is right. My R eye is (Sphere -4.75) (Cylinder -1.00) (Axis 158) My L eye is (Sphere -5.75) (Cylinder -1.25) (Axis 075) and +1.50 on both to see up close.
You’re a candidate based in rx. Watch our video on best contact lenses for astigmatism and presbyopia. Those are the two lenses you’re a candidate for.
So I went to my eye doctor again today for my follow-up appointment and I asked him if it was possible for me to get the multifocal contacts instead of the regular ones and he said that based on my astigmatism was going to be a title difficult. He found a pair of Bausch & Lomb multifocal that are working well. I can’t see things that are up close as good as if I have my glasses on, but at least I can see them and read them without the use of reading glasses. Thank you for your help and your advise.
Hi, my 15 year old son has myopia and astigmatism. He is now on toric contact lenses trial. I saw in the package label "add +2.50" why the doctor added that? Is my son (15 years old) presbyopic? Or is it part of myopia control? I'm confused. Pls help. Thanks
Does anyone know if there is a contact lens that deals with astigmatism presbyopia and is multifocal? And is daily NOT MONTHLY I.E BIOFINITY ULTRA PROCLEAR THEY ARE ALL MONTHLY NOT DAILES is there a daily that addresses these 3 issues??
Unfortunately, there isn't a mainstream daily disposable that meets your request. With this in mind, contact lens manufacturers are aware of this and will likely launch something like this now that the technology has been proven in a monthly.
I absolutely cannot wear the daily multi focal size. Monthly are much more clear to me. Which of the monthly contacts you recommended are silicone hydrogel for presbyopia?
Mine told me they don’t have a good success rate and didn’t recommend them. I told her I want to try anyways . I’m on comfilconA toric multifocal and distance is great but reading close is still fuzzy . I’m going to ask to try another pair
Update...I went to an eye doctor in a larger metropolitan place and I have been wearing multifocal contacts for astigmatism since January of this year! I had to pay a separate contact fitting charge and it took 4 trial pair to find the perfect ones for me, i am very happy. I wear them everyday, all day. Never even got nee glasses, just the contacts!!!
So far I have tried the comfilcon A Toric multifocal . I can see great distance far off but up close is still a little fuzzy and still need reading glasses. Pwr 0.75 BC 8.7 dia 14.5 cyl-0.75 Ax 080 add +1.00
Air Optix Multifocal was one of the first multifocals with a modern (usable) design. With this in mind, the lens material and optics aren’t as good as competitors.
What's your favorite multifocal contact lens for presbyopia?

Thank you for sharing. There are a lot of multifocal options on the market worth talking to your optometrist about.

Which ones have you tried? Based on the fitting guide, your eye doctor should be able to adjust the rx to provide better near vision.

I live in a small town. My local Eye Doc told me bifocal contacts don't work. I am sick of wearing glasses to see.
Your doctor is not too on top of things. Things are changing so quickly he doesn't know what he is talking about.
Your doc needs to get up to date. I’m wearing multifocal lenses right now and see very clearly. 😁
Thanks ya'll . I'll try an optician in Richmond VA, that's the big town around here

This is a series of equalized advertisements, and lacks actual comparison between them in practical application. Sales rep stuff.
Wait, wait, slow down, slow down. You should give the definition of presbyopia before you go into the products!!
