    "The top one per cent pay 30 per cent of all income tax revenues." The tory voters lied, of course, they did, but what's concerning is that this was not rectified through editing.
    The levels of internalised oppression expressed by the Tory voters here are very telling as to why they'd vote for a party that doesn't care about POC & sees them as the other, they appear to be ashamed of working-class POC. If you vote Tory as a Black person it's not that you not being Black enough, it's that you're voting against your interests & of other Black people, upholding institutions which have worked against POC for centuries - it's embarrassing.

    • @raph_csg
      @raph_csg 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Last time I checked black people weren’t a monolithic group as we tend to come from different ethnic groups, backgrounds, social classes and etc so how can you say voting Tory would be against a person’s interests simply because they’re regarded as black?
      That’s an extremely dumb mindset when it would directly be in the interests of a Nigerian business owner who doesn’t enjoy giving HMRC a penny to vote Tory as opposed to Labour who aim to curb tax avoidance/evasion.
      As for your point about about ‘upholding institutions which have worked against POC for centuries’ does Labour have any intention of overturning them? paying reparations? ending imperialism, exploitation and neocolonialism in Africa? The answer is a resounding ‘no’ for all of them because Britain/the West will do whatever’s necessary to maintain their position from assassinating leaders to providing weapons that would be used to kill/murder millions of civilians as Harold Wilson’s Labour government did to facilitate the Biafran genocide so British oil interests in Nigeria would be protected.
      Back to the UK, as per Labour’s 2019 manifesto they were still pushing to rejoin the European Union or at least make sure white EU migrants kept their free movement giving them an unfair advantage over POC who had to pass the Points Based system that was introduced by them in 2008. If Labour were in power we wouldn’t be seeing a significant increase in immigration from Non-EU countries like: India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines and etc as the quota would be met by EU migrants and POC would get less of a chance to improve their lives. Lemme not even talk about Keir ‘BLM is a moment’ Starmer…

    • @futbolchefs
      @futbolchefs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@raph_csg After all that waffle, not once have you stated why it's okay to vote for the more racist & corrupt party... Yes, selfish people exist in all skin tones, migration from non-EU countries has not increased wtf, & people from the EU also happen to be Black & Brown too. No, I don't think labour is perfect, but Starmer is a neoliberal, a centrist who's no better than a Tory. There are other more progressive people in the party & you can elect those to represent you, find out who they are & stop making excuses to vote for an actively racist party.

    • @raph_csg
      @raph_csg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@futbolchefs For many decades the UK has been a two party system so in theory you could vote Green or some other minor party but it won’t help very much…. which is why you have to choose between Conservatives or Labour; parties that both have issues with corruption & racism so don’t even bother going to the polling station if you’re gonna vote based on race even if it’s for the lesser one because as Dave said “the least racist is still racist.” As I stated, black people just like everyone else tend to come from different social classes and have differing political beliefs which is what they should base their vote on, not race.
      Personally speaking, I never use the term ‘Rob this England’ in jest as it’s fully meant 1000% and if that means siding with the Tories, so be it because there’s no way I can look at my home country that’s still in a mess today due to Britain and think “yeah, lemme vote for a left wing party that I don’t remotely agree with and likely pay HMRC more just because most other Black Brits support them.”
      Be serious pls… A very small minority of people from EU countries who emigrated from elsewhere would be Black & Brown but the vast majority that come from Poland, Bulgaria, Romania & etc would be white. Google ‘non eu migration rocketed/rise’ and a number of articles will come up talking about “The implementation of a more liberal points-based immigration system after Brexit has resulted in soaring numbers of workers and students from Africa, India and the Philippines.” - The Times
      the most progressive Labourite would be: Sultana, Ribeiro-Addy or possibly Abbott who only talk about taxing the rich/chasing tax dodgers as opposed to actual change e.g. ending exploitation + neo-colonialism, which just isn’t enough for me when I’d rather pay less tax here in order to use my money to help those who actually need it back home seeing as Britain wouldn’t be doing that with any of the tax revenue… And even if I could find one Labour MP that “represents me” it wouldn’t change anything because Starmer would have the power, not them.

    • @futbolchefs
      @futbolchefs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Advice: Please change the seating and let the people talking face on another, the reason the people in the front can't engage properly is because they cannot see who they are talking to. It looks immensely frustrating to be a part of a conversation where you are talking to people behind your head not to mention that it can lead to the people in the front being vary of what they're saying bc well, the person they might offend is right behind their head, which leads to heightened adrenaline and unsafe feelings. Please take references to "Jubilee" set up, their a TH-cam channel having quite similar conversations just more organised and dynamic as well, people can face one another. I hope this is helpful and can contribute to the growth of this channel. All the best and thank you for this initiative of making diverse Black and POC voices heard.

    The guy in the beanie hit home saying one of our biggest problems we have is the value system that reduces people down to be indispensable, where we look upon human life as it's a product or commodity, something that can be discarded. You see these values being not only reflected through our politics but through our music specifically rap music, you see it in the entertainment industry, the way we build corporations and so on.. the ripple effects of this value system is nearly everywhere if you look closely.

    12:10 i dont agree totally on the stock market only bc for a lot of people its seen as a good thing to invest your money and make returns. If tax structures were created it wouldnt be solving an issue but creating one for the average joe that likes to save and invest their money.

    • @ccezeugwa
      @ccezeugwa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are certainly already tax structures in place for gains made via the acquisition and disposal of capital assets (capital gains tax). The issue with CGT now is that for the average Joe, you will likely never make any meaningful (chargeable) gains that will clear that annual exempt amount. For the super wealthy who make in excess of this amount, there are additional reliefs that mean that they can make a significant saving on their tax bill. In addition to this, some investments made by those who do receive sound advice can go and reduce their income tax bill. But of course the only people who are able to tie up their wealth in capital assets are those who can afford to do so. They make meaningful gains, and reinvest, and because of reliefs like rollover relief, they don't pay tax on the asset disposal. But generally because CGT is only ever charged when the gains are realised, in real time the average Joe is paying more per income in income tax and less able to invest and make any meaningful gains. Its a viscous cycle which then just repeats itself and further widens the wealth gap.

    No one is telling Black conservatives how to vote and that they should be left wing but I am asking how anyone black in good conscience could vote for a Party whose leader referred to black people as ‘pickannies’ a racial slur. Have you no self respect?

    • @raph_csg
      @raph_csg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you vote for the party/their manifesto or the party leader? If Boris left today it would still be the Conservative party and they’d fundamentally have the same polices which is what you vote for, not Bojo the Clown.
      Considering black people only make up less than 5% of the UK population it’s silly to expect any political party to seriously put their interests above the majority…. so you don’t vote based on race but instead class and whichever party best aligns with your political beliefs especially when neither of the two main parties particularly care about Black people/Africans.

    • @commonsense9474
      @commonsense9474 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@raph_csg well that’s interesting but totally irrelevant because that’s not the question. I am obviously aware you vote for a party because I made that point clear in my question. The question was simple. How could you vote for a party whose leader referred to black people as picaninnies. It’s that simple and let’s be clear. That is an INSULT. Not insulting black people doesn’t mean you are putting them before white people. That is silly to even suggest. The Labour Party may not like black people either but Jeremy Corbyn or Keir Starmer have never publicly insulted ethnic minorities and any sane person would question the type of party that would elect a leader who is comfortable making derogatory remarks about other people. Your conclusion is tantamount to saying, ‘I didn’t agree with Hitler but the Nazi party made the country better for the majority of people.’ Offending minorities to placate the majority should never be acceptable and turning a blind eye even when you are the victim sounds absolutely abhorrent.

    • @raph_csg
      @raph_csg 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@commonsense9474 There’s nothing irrelevant about my point that ‘you should vote based on social class and political beliefs instead of race’ because it essentially answers your question. It’s only if your vote is based on being black where his comments would be important and there’s nothing more pathetic than identity politics; why does your life revolve around being “black”? Do you not have a business or assets to protect? Is your sole concern when reading a manifesto ‘what are they doing for ethnic minorities’ whilst disregarding everything else? That means they could literally have horrendous polices but would still get your vote just because page 42 said something about setting up review to help BAME and LGBT communities.
      Politics is like business, there’s no room for emotion so your personal feelings shouldn’t dictate any important decisions. That could mean having to work with someone you don’t like on a personal level because what they bring to the table benefits you + allows your goals to be met.
      “victim”? be serious abeg… he used the term in an article written over 20 years ago how fragile can you be to feel victimised by that? something nobody would’ve even know about had the media not dug it back up. A person making an ‘offensive’ remark shouldn’t be enough to change your political views or the party you support especially if you still agree with their policies.
      Didn’t Starmer call BLM a “moment” with “nonsense” demands? which would definitely be offensive to a BLM supporter and as you said + they’ve shown recently Labour don’t care about black people so why vote for them?
      Hitler is a man who first: ostracised Jews, stripped them of legal rights + stole their property, publicly humiliated/terrorised them and then tried to exterminate entire groups of people he viewed as racially inferior in his Final Solution. To even suggest any of that is remotely comparable let alone “tantamount” to Bojo because he made a comment about ‘Watermelon smiles' and 'piccaninnies' is a disingenuous reach.
      It’s not about placating the majority, neither parties are perfect options so you just have vote for the least worst depending on your situation/political views.

    • @commonsense9474
      @commonsense9474 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@raph_csg Thank you for taking the time to respond with a long laborious irrelevant rant. If you think it is okay to sell out and have no self respect to protect your own interests then simply say it. However I do have the following observations
      1 ‘You should vote on social class…’ False. Tony Blair, Jeremy Corbin and Keir Starmer are all from Middle Class backgrounds and many Conservatives are from poor backgrounds. Margret Thatchers father was a shop keeper. You make your own choices in life.
      2 Refusing to vote Tory because the leader has contempt for BAME people is not ‘identity politics’ lol that is ludicrous. That’s like saying if Boris said obese people were disgusting and an overweight person was offended that makes them an Overweight Nationalist! Lol. Be serious.
      3 Boris used a racial slur many years ago so I’m supposed to forget it? Are you serious? In 2018 he insults Muslim women am I supposed to believe he has changed his views? Lol. My friend Many many years ago I may have used the expression ‘uncle Tom’ I’m glad that you are satisfied I would never use that expression about someone like you lol.
      4. Given that we currently have the highest inflation rate for 40 years There is a cost of living crisis Rail workers on strike public sector workers threatening industrial action fuel and energy prices through the roof while Boris has work events he doesn’t know are in fact parties. I seriously wonder what personal interest anyone thinks the Tories can protect before the whole country goes up in flames.
      5 You have shamelessly used ‘whataboutism’ to deflect away from Boris Johnson’s offensive remarks. ‘What about Keir Starmer?’ Avoids the question I asked and totally irrelevant. Whatever Keir said about BLM he did not racially insult black people.
      5 Racially demeaning Jewish people is exactly what Hitler did, of course there is a comparison are you so naive that you do not understand how insidious the far right operate? What Hitler did was not clear until many years after the Second World War. But the seeds of hatred were planted by insulting another race openly and unapologetically. The far right rally right behind anyone who expresses contempt for another race and you seek to appease these people? Shameful.
      6 Being able to live in peace without being insulted should be a priority for everyone regardless of colour however you do make a good point. Many people do act out of self interest. 400 years ago many black people worked with the slave traders and many slaves assisted slave owners on the plantations for special benefits so I guess somethings have just evolved. They never had any self respect either.

    • @raph_csg
      @raph_csg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@commonsense9474 sell out who? the BAME community? even people from ethnic minority are individuals so I don’t owe anything to anyone just because we’re labelled as “black” especially when they’re privileged enough to live in the West.
      why are we acting like humans don’t all act in their own self-interest? including when they appear to be ‘altruistic.’ E.g. a person could freely provide their services to elderly people/disadvantage families or feed the homeless
      which could be seen as ‘selfless’ acts.
      However, it would still be self-interest as they’re improving how others perceive them/gaining satisfaction from the feeling you get after helping people in need. This would of course include voting… regardless of party or political ideology i.e. conservatives, socialist, feminist and etc.
      Let me be explicit; social/economic conservatism aside, I’d vote Tory because: I’m a entrepreneur with no desire in paying a penny of income/corp tax to this country because I’d much rather use that money to help family/friends and people back home who actually NEED assistance… So it’s definitely about self-interest but never ‘selling out.’
      1.) As I said in my initial comment you are voting for the party/their manifesto not the party leader. Corbyn or Starmer coming from middle class backgrounds means nothing when their policies benefit working class people more. Whereas a politician like Thatcher (who wasn’t working class btw) had policies that benefitted
      landlords, high earners and middle class business owners like her father.
      It’s about voting for polices based on how they benefit your class/financial situation.
      2.) If your vote or political affiliation is solely based on : race, religion, gender or belonging to the “BAME” community how would that not be identity centred politics, heavily influenced by your emotions? You can be offended by a person’s comment without completely writing them off + everything else they stand for that you might agree with because you’re mature enough to separate personal feelings and how certain policies will impact you/your people.
      It’s bigger than just how I feel about a politician’s remarks because had I voted against the Tories due to Boris’ comment then Brexit might not have happened or EU migrants would’ve kept the unearned/undeserved privilege of free movement whereas Non-EU migrants from countries like : Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, India, Ghana and etc would get nothing nor would there be a surge in immigration from those countries allowing people to better their lives + send remittances back home.
      3.) forget? definitely not. But don’t now start crying about remarks or even actions that were made decades ago and especially don’t allow them to influence your political decisions. If you are going to do that then completely abstaining is your only option otherwise it’s just hypocritical. Unless letterboxes/bank robbers or Burqas have changed their appearance since 2018 I very much doubt he’s changed his views + you’re extremely confused to even suggest that I’m an “ Unlce Tom.” surely I’d have to rate this country at the very least whereas I do not whatsoever… chat to Mr “Reluctantly” or Madam ‘Don’t tear down slave trader statues’ if you want to see an Uncle Tom or Auntie Ruckus. Miss me with that nonsense pls.
      4.) I’ll be real, all of that is just stuff to see on Twitter or TikTok because none of it seriously impacts my life. The cost of living “crisis” is a minor inconvenience that consists of slightly higher prices to buy stock at my suppliers and noticing an increase in the price of groceries but it’s not as if I was shopping at Iceland or Aldi to being with…
      Fuel; my first car had a 4.6ltr engine so I’ve been accustomed to getting robbed at the petrol station anyway + just like energy costs I can deduct the expense from my taxes which is always fun.
      If something becomes more expensive, I can’t afford to just sulk about it and do nothing…. I’ve got too many goals to let that hinder me + nobody controls my income except myself.
      Turn on your inner Hov and use your skills to generate income which for me was my marketing/web design experience to start an agency. Don’t take living in the West for granted.
      As for what personal interest they can protect; it’s HMRC remaining underfunded & under-resourced thanks to whipped Tory MPs who vote against stricter tax avoidance/evasion measures
      All empires fall eventually, it’s simply the West’s turn and I can’t wait especially in regards to Britain which is why I don’t particularly care about the country going up in flames.
      5.) it’s a two party system so who else are you going to vote for? And considering you brought up Labour it suggests that would be your choice. It’s not about deflecting but simply if you’re going to slate Bojo for his anti-blackness then it’s funny that you bring up Keir as if he’s any better… him calling BLM a “moment” with ‘nonsense demands’ and refusing to release the Forde Inquiry shows he doesn’t care about black people so he’s no better than Boris especially when a Labourite should be held to a higher standard when it comes to equality.
      5a.) mate, Hitler released Mein Kempf years before he came to power so people knew of his far-right anti-semitic views from the jump which is what even gave him power. The Nazi Party was always far-right from its inception , viewed the Aryan race as superior and Jews as inferior vermin who were responsible for all of Germany’s problems. If Hitler was only “racially demeaning” towards Jews then Bojo is practically licking our feet. No comparison whatsoever.
      + the Allied powers (US, UK & Russia) knew about Nazi concentration camps and Jews being killed when WW2 was still on going but simply didn’t care enough to do anything about it. E.g. in 1943 a British MP said “ the Jews should not be considered a special case and that the British Empire was already too full of refugees to offer a safe haven to any more. - another reason to dislike this country and pray for its downfall.
      It’s nothing to do with “appeasing” anyone. I have goals to achieve and my only concern is whom will allow me to reach them e.g. avoiding as much UK tax as possible, build my business empire and a charity in Nigeria + eventually other African countries. Do you think anybody will give a s*it about me supporting the Tories when I’ve met those goals? Utterly irrelevant.
      If Labour or Lib Dem proposed to abolish taxes then I’ll vote for them in an instant but Biggie will come back before they ever think of doing that… so I’ll stick with what’s available.
      6.) Yeah, that sounds like a nice little utopia but it’s definitely impossible.
      Grow up… a childish insult doesn’t affect you from living in peace. Take a trip to certain parts of Nigeria or any other nation ruined by colonialism and you’d wish Boris was saying his nonsense insults to your face if it meant you didn’t have to stay there 🤦🏾‍♂️
      Me personally, I have no desire to build up someone else’s country especially if it means paying more tax to somewhere that’s already the 5th richest due to : colonialism/neocolonialism, exploitation and destabilisation of the global south. Don’t even get me started the taxpayer funded leeches known the British Royal Family.
      Imperialist Britain is largely part of the reason why I have to even build a charity in Nigeria so there’s absolutely no reason for me to care about the UK’s prosperity or becoming an ‘insult free’ utopia.
      No, just no. Don’t do the ‘black people sold their own kind.’ Even today the people labelled as “black” are not one monolithic group you’ve got: Nigerians, Kenyans, Jamaicans & etc which are all different.
      This was certainly the case in the 1700s when people didn’t identify with by race or even nationality but simply their tribe/kingdom e.g Yoruba, Akan, Wolof and many others fought with enemy kingdoms + took their captives as slaves either for themselves or sold them to Arabs/Europeans. Different tribes or kingdoms = entirely different people because they didn’t view themselves as black or even African.
      To make it seem as if “black” people sold each other is like saying WW1&2 were simply civil wars as Germans/Brits are the same people just because they share a skin colour.
      As for slaves assisting slave owners in the Americas, that definitely happened because pitting slaves against each other apart of the divide and rule tactic that was also used in colonialism + still has an affect today.
      Anyway, I’m sure you can imagine slavery was an extremely gruelling/brutal life with people dying left, right and centre so I’m certain even you would’ve taken the chance of being promoted if it gave a higher chance of survival, bringing up this idea of slaves not having “self respect” for trying to survive however they could is extremely silly.
      And as I said; humans always act out of self interest which would include the slaves who led revolts and the slaves who became overseers.
      They each benefited from their actions in some way.

    You should do this video again, especially since we now have the cost of living and energy crisis (and let me say a couple things🫣)
