I currently have two of these large pirate ships, 2 of the schooner ships and 8 of the smaller sloop type ships. I don't use them as "kids toys" however, I have modified them to use them with my 54mm (1/32nd scale) pirate figures and other naval figures in outdoor naval wargames. I place a 20ft x 20ft heavy duty blue plastic tarp down on the ground for my "ocean", I use several different sets of rules to conduct my naval engagements. Great fun for a 74 year old kid!
Indeed, this is the coolest ,more detailed and biggest Pirate ship Playmobil has ever realised. Still have mine in perfect condition , my favorite toy! Underatted ship and great review man!
@PlaymoBello Let me explain, at 6:47 you open the cargo doors and the cannons are inside, on 5135 the cargo hold is enclosed so you can't fit cannons but you can still fit treasure. The area by the anchor as seen at 7:23 is closed off and instead of real cannons the ship just has little slot in fake cannons, apart from that they are identical in terms of molding
In fact, since both sets are fully compatible, I merged them to create my ideal version: From the 5135, I love the color combination, while the 3940’s red bridge and dirty gray hull never appealed to me. So, I swapped the lower bridge from the 5135 with the one from the 3940, allowing me to add all 8 cannons and the cabin accessories. It turned out fantastic!
Just to clarify, 5135 is NOT the same model. While it looks similar from the outside, it is a lesser version of the mold. The 8 gun ports are replaced by "simulated" cannons that are essentially the tips of the canons on the side of the ship with little flippable doors. All 8 of them. Can't shoot any of them. Not a single cannon can be placed or reached. No lower deck at all. The place under the compartment door is encircled by plastic on all four sides. You can put things down there, but you cannot reach further into the ship. Nor is there any hole at the front of the ship to reach the lower deck or place 2 cannons. That's totally closed. The cabin is the same as on this one, but without the gun ports, even though there would be space there for "real" cannons. The 2 cannons that come with that ship are always displayed on the upper deck. Bed is just the plastic, without mattress or even those white decorations at the corners. Not sure why they decided to enclose the lower deck area completely and make it inaccessable.
I have two of these large pirate ships. I also have two of their Viking long ships which I have modified to use with my 54mm Tehnolog Viking figures that I use in my naval battles.
@@PlaymoBello no the "cannons" are just little plastic inserts so the cargo hold is boxed off and the area around the anchor is filled in. The upper deck above the cabin still lifts up though
I have one and it is in an OK condition. Most of the items are with it. I want to sell it because i have to move and I dont have any space for it. If you want you can contact with me.
I always wanted this ship. This was before they increase the size of canons to huge toys which took too much place in the game space and were simply too big compared to the figurines. I never wanted the toy to throw a ball far way! Give me a small projectile and I'll simulate the firing!
I removed the fake cannons and replaced them with cannons from the Weapons & Warriors pirate set which are more in scale with the Playmobil ships. I actually wargame outdoors with these ships with 54mm (1/32nd scale) pirate miniatures. Yo ho, ho and a bottle of rum!
I like this set a lot but it's too expensive for me which is why I got 5135 it's a shame that it has the fake cannons like 6678 but I think the colours are better and more realistic so I don't mind
@@PlaymoBello I have something cool to tell you! Because it uses the same mold even though it has fake cannons if you swap out its cabin/cargo hold insert for 3940's one you can create the best pirate ship ever!
The Fact that the Set has rereleased as 5135 in 2011 isn, t all right because they had made other Moldes so you cant put Canons into the Shop because the Front Arena is closed and the middle Arena is in this Set only a Storage Arena the Canons who you can saw there are only Fakes which you put into the hull of the Ship.
@@PlaymoBello But I can' t understand why they had made this because they mist change all moldingshapes for the New Version so I ask my self why thes don' t has reused the Moldingshapes from 2000 which has allready Exist at this point. In my opinion a Real Mindfuck🤯

Whoa, that is awesome! Not a bad idea, maybe there is a way to build a giant stratego game too lol.
The most beautiful and best Pirated Ship playmobil ever made i have to agree fully ... i still have it
One of the best Playmobil pirate boats !! Great video !! 😁🤩
Impressive set! Very detailed and tons of accessories. Tnx for another great review!

Underatted ship and great review man!
One of the first sets I ever owned this and the castle wall section got me into playmobil

This is definitely the greatest pirate ship they have made!
It's sad to see how the quality has completely gone downhill from this era.
I gotta dissagree friend 4290 the shit with the red bottom was reaalllyyy nice it had lots of surprises and i think it was bigger as well.
I still hold mine as the greatest ship ever, agreed!
@@quinten156 Now I will have to buy one. The collapsible cannons look cool. lol thanks!

I am now in possession of the second ship and indeed they have fake cannon doors.
Ah man! I always wanted this set for Christmas when I was little!
One of my absolute favs! I do love the first ship though 😜
Looking for replacement sails. Nothing on ebay it seems. Any ideas? Even looking for a template

Looks Awesome! I have the same set!
That's a massive ship! Nowadays Playmobil ships doesn't come as large as this one. I guess it's too much plastic, so would make it too expensive.
I have 5135 which is mostly the same but the cannons don't work because the deck sections don't lift up
Are you sure they don't lift up? Maybe it is stuck or glued? I was going to buy one, but now I am concerned :D
@@PlaymoBello no the "cannons" are just little plastic inserts so the cargo hold is boxed off and the area around the anchor is filled in.
The upper deck above the cabin still lifts up though
@@PlaymoBello I'd still recommend it, the only thing it's missing are working cannons and in my opinion it looks nicer than this one
I prefer 5135. The colors are more realistic. And I prefer having the entire deck without holes.
But this one is nice too
@@antoniojimenez6632 yeah I like the colours too and also 5135 was the ship I had growing up so there's a bias there
Great video, where i can buy it in the us ? Tnx
They don't sell it anymore and they are very hard and expensive to get a hold of so your best chance is eBay
