The sequel to Blacksmith, Blacksmith . . .
The soul of a long-dead hero inhabits a rusted suit of armor to guard the legendary blade that earned him his title, a curse of greed tethering him to the land of the living. Two blacksmith brothers stumble across the ancient king in his ruined castle ages after his death, and the events that ensue lay the old hero to rest once and for all. To defeat the blade crafted by the ancient smith, a new weapon must be forged by a smith of equal caliber . . .
A huge thanks to the blacksmiths at Oldfield Forge who inspired Blacksmith, Blacksmith and made this project possible! Find them at oldfieldforge...., and check out the behind the scenes of filming this music video on their channel: • 'Song of the fallen he...

Lyrics:
Heroes die and the world goes on
They keep on singing the same damn songs
‘Bout who I was
Death defied, I place my trust
In age old steel and age old rust
My resting plate
Gods protect any man who tries to claim
The blade that made my name
(x2)
Once so regal, strong and tall
But kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall
And so do men
To once have worn that gilded crown
My legend told in every town
Then brought so low
Gods protect any man who tries to claim
The blade that made my name
(x2)
When my bones are naught but dust
Know that I was right and just
The cursed blade of glory lust
Binds me now to steel and rust
Blacksmith, blacksmith, feed your rage
Lead the world to a new age
Forge a weapon night and day
To send me to my resting place
(x2)
For anyone curious I thought I might share the equipment and costs involved in shooting this music video, as it was my first time dipping my toes into filmmaking and I would have loved some insight on these things when I was doing my own research. The sum total of our crew was myself and a few blacksmiths from Oldfield Forge; I had a tight budget, and none of us had experience with filmmaking - but we decided we would try to make something cool anyway. Here is all of the equipment I used to film this video, along with the prices listed to buy them new:
Canon EOS R50 Camera - $641 USD
Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 Lens - $198 USD
DJI Ronin-SC Gimbal - $227 USD
NEEWER 43mm Variable ND Filter - $28 USD
TOTAL: $1096
For my first attempt with less than a day to film, I was incredibly pleased with how it came out! With just over $1,000 and a little bit of research into how to operate a camera, you can create a video of this quality or better. I was incredibly fortunate to have a bunch of blacksmiths as a "props department" who happened to live within driving distance of a number of medieval castles in the UK, so in terms of costuming and locations the cost was cut significantly (though I more than made up for it with travel costs from Canada to the UK 😅). If this video does well, it makes me hopeful that I might be able to collaborate with more D&D/fantasy creators around the globe to make music videos and short films like this one, which would be an absolute dream.
hope you get enough view on all of your stuff to at less break even man cause you vids are awesome
To see you collaborating with more people in an effort to make more amazing stuff like this would be wounderful.
Wow, this is just incredible work for having no previous experience. Just amazing man, great work.
I do love that it’s a hammer and not a sword that ultimately defeats the cursed knight. A blacksmith’s weapon rather than a blade.
VINDICATION!!!! Thankyou!
Makes me think of “Hammer and the Anvil” from The longest John’s
@@UncleSamsBoot seconded I posted that snippet as well, it deeply reminds me of it
Oh now thats a sequel. Did not expect the blade from “Blacksmith, Blacksmith” to corrupt the user but you know what they say about absolute power. Also the call back in that last verse with “Blacksmith, Blacksmith feed your rage” was incredible.
Also love that, at 0:48, you can hear the leitmotif from "Blacksmith Blacksmith" if you listen closely
@@n1thecaptain965 You mean to do 2 copies of the same comment?
@@damianwolfe613 I thought I sent it once? Weird
@@n1thecaptain965yeah that happens sometimes don’t worry about it
The bloke in blue is not only one of the blacksmiths who provided the backing beats to the original song, he is also the "tell me how the grass tastes little man" guy
Had a D&D character with a similar backstory to this hero.
He chose to die binding the weapon to him for all of eternity rather than allowing its malevolence to go free and harm others.
The idea was his oath from the previous campaign. "Until death herself takes my soul, I will uphold my Oath". And so he swore the weapon would never harm the innocent again no matter what price I must bear.
An oath sworn Revenant was not something my group expected to approach them for aid in destroying the weapon and the soul forge responsible for its creation.
The backstory reason he chose to approach this party was very light on martial fighters which the weapon had little desire to corrupt as its ego demanded warriors, fighters anyone who used marital weaponry to grant it greater renown.
Damn that cool idea
I always thought Blacksmith Blacksmith could be interpreted in a less heroic light. One of my interpretations was that the singer, of course the person asking for the sword, was being quite rude in asking for that powerful of a sword, like he had a huge ego or something. Now I see this sequel as the blacksmith getting back at him or something, like, "here's your hubris getting back at you," type of deal. Nate! This was awesome!
I read some of the lyrics as the swordsman being cursed to defend the blade that made his name, as a Faustian bargain perhaps, as to my ears the "Gods protect any man that tries to claim the blade that made my name" seems more like an earnest, desperate prayer and plead.
I'd love to hear more of this knight's story how he was granted his title as a hero or how he felt as the curse slowly took hold of him. Amazing work by the way.
He started by requesting a blade from the Blacksmith. I would like to hear how he became cursed during his battle against the Darkness
the jump in production value from Blacksmith, Blacksmith to this is so insanely cool, and the actors all did an amazing job!!!
I love that you incorporated one of my Husband’s and my favorite songs (Blacksmith, Blacksmith), an actual blacksmith and his trusty hammer avenging his friends against the cursed knight. Well done Sir 3 Kobalds in a Trenchcoat! I look forward to seeing your future works in both song and film!
The menace and dejectedness in the voice make this song so perfectly haunting, with this as a sequel to Blacksmith Blacksmith being referenced as a callback, you need to compose a musical
The motif from the blacksmith playing is a delightful touch
The legend of kind Arthur and Camelot has a story of when Arthur’s try’s to find the most important person in the kingdom. Many crafters come before him. The carpenter comes and says “I make the throne upon which you sit I built the table on which your men feast”. The goldsmith came and says “I made the crown upon your head I make golden gifts you give your nobles”. The tailor came and he said “I made the cloak upon your back I make clothes for your men that keep them warm”. Arthur asked how they made these things they showed he there tools the carpenters chisels, the goldsmiths hammers and pliers, the tailors scissors and needle. He said to them “who made the tools you all use” “the blacksmith” all the crafter who came and spoke said. The blacksmith was summoned and Arthur asked “you made all of there tools that make nearly everything in the kingdom, but who made your tools.” He asked the blacksmith “I make my tools and when I lack of one I make it when any crafter or maker lacks of a tool of iron and steel I make it and when they break I repair them. The miners pickaxes, the sailors nails and hogeyes, the wagons wheels and the horses shoes.” And Arthur declared the blacksmith is the most important for nothing easiest without him and no other does he rely on but for the fuel to work.
It honestly impresses me how quickly you write, compose, and film a song within such a short window of time. Every single song you make absolutely slaps, you are an inspiration
Well if I did not just found a new song for the ever growing playlist.
Sounds like a good titlesong for my Forsaken.
Haunting... imagine being an undead but still having your soul trapped in your shambling corpse... just begging to be released to your second death.
That's just how Aaron experiences life generally.
Literally my current D&D character XD
So i think the cursed sword is named “Glory-Lust”, So it makes sense why its curse is to kill any who try to steal it/challenge it. If it’s sentient, it’s because it wants to stay with the one who gained the most glory with it. Also that “blacksmith, blacksmith feed your rage” verse was great
The ending of this made me legit tear up, its so beautiful
Every single one of your songs are always amazing. Don't think I can think of one I haven't listened to a dozen times already.
An amazing song! Just haunting. Being turned into an undead warrior cursed by the very blade you ask the blacksmith to make. Blade itself corrupting was once a hero, while that hero does everything they can to make sure no one else falls under the same curse. Going back to the previous song Blacksmith, blacksmith
Absolutely beautiful and amazing story told in song 🔥🔥🔥
This is so EPIC!!
I first saw three kobolds in a trenchcoat through a friend and played it on repeat for how funny and good it was until I decided to listen to more of your music not realizing what awesome songs I was about to listen to. from Hound, Hell fire, and Aurora to Blacksmith Blacksmith and THIS masterpiece! And the story behind this is so good! Can't wait to see what you do next, keep going!
a sequel??? to my favorite songs?????
I had to rewatch this multiple times. So much going on in both the lyrics and the video. So cool.
I loved every second of this a great sequel to Blacksmith Blacksmith and a great song and video on its own keep the up the great work can’t wait to see more I’ll be here jamming out as stories and ideas fly in my brain lol
Absolutely love these songs, definitely adding to my work Playlist, keep up the amazing work good sir
Just found your music yesterday through your song about Grog. Since then I have been loving your music and will do my part to spread the word about your songs.
Alright , very cool. But where’s the three kolbolds in a trenchcoat sequel we’re all waiting for?
Oh you mean 4 Kobolds in a Slightly Longer Trenchcoat
I'll hold you to that!
i get so excited when i see a new song released
Absolutely phenomenal job by all involved; this is stunning, all around.
Good man. This is incredible.
Music, lyrics, voice and Video.
Just outstanding 🔥👏👏👏
I discovered you off of Three Kobolds in a Trenchcoat just a couple of weeks ago, and I haven't gone to listen to any of your other stuff. I was NOT prepared for this level of emotional whiplash.
Let it not be said that I don’t have range
Y'know I just got out of a SCA training meet and this hits even better after getting walked through the arena.
A high quality music video with a great song?? You spoil us, really :3
"The ones who will be remembered throughout history will be the Kings, Lords, and Commanders... While we shall be buried in mass grave, forgotten by all, except those who were bleeding out right beside us..."
Oh shit. It is the best of all your tracks. I dont know how to describe my emotions. But in the middle of music i just had been dancing.
Amazing music video, beautifully sung (you have an amazing voice), fantastically acted (Oscar worthy, surely! ;) ). Very moving. I've been listening to it on repeat!
Ahhh! someone watched the BTS XD
I love the video! the environmental story telling was wonderful, suggestion on filming, would be to film the a shot during the golden hour - a short period of time just before sunset or after sunrise - even it was was just for a little bit i think it would have made a moment way more impactful and epic like the sun rising right after the battle but I love what you made and enjoyed it, I would be happy to see more! or maybe see you go back and do a song for blacksmith blacksmith!
Thank you for the music video!
Absolutely amazing!
What a cool video! Love your songs ❤
Love the music. Good stuff always comes from here.
i love thaat the blacksmith songs notes are mixed into this song
fantastic music (and a fancy sword)!
Don’t think I didn’t catch the melody of Blacksmith, Blacksmith at 0:47
Fantastic, keep up the amazing work I love your song writing.
Sír, your voice is mesmerizing 😁
Great video, thank you, it's amazing!
Wow.... Just wow.... So hauntingly beatiful! Production is top notch on this one!
Excellent, en tous points !
The birth of a paladin of vengeance.
Blirst!
That was beautiful and an absolute joy to watch. Another smashing success, the music, the acting, the story, everything was perfect.
im grateful to have heard this song when the video first dropped
Damn bro, now I wonder what a part three looks like!!! Still loving everything that you make!!!
Fabulous!
Nice song and nice video
Loving the continuation of this story
This...... this was unexpected. This is really good.
This is astonishing.
another masterpiece. keep it up man
Woah! That was epic!
Damn that was awesome!
That blacksmith is hot AF
It's the corpse for me.
@@jdjoepro8281 I hear the camera man is quite handsome
@ChaseNoseworthy From what I saw of the BTS he was wandering about in a Canadian tuxedo the entire time
@@mrfolstag3038 I never said he had style
Awesome
Yooo this is so dope
you can kind of tell the, quite literally, bone weariness in the way the knight fights as well. every swing is heavy, every step reluctant. He wants nay needs this to end as much as the person he is demanded to fight. I wonder if the Blacksmiths are related to the blade maker in anyway.
Amazing !! 🎉❤
THIS WAS AWESOME! O_o!
I've seen people asking for a part 3, maybe you could do 'hammer and the anvil' with the longest johns
I kinda wish there was a verse for when the knight fell thanking or apologizing to the blacksmith that freed him but otherwise fantastic! And I love that throwback to Blacksmith! One of my favorite songs from you! Any chance we get to see some in-between for the hero's journey? Somewhere between asking for the blade and his end?
Certified BOP !!!!

Nice sequel song! So this is the final faith of three kobolds🤔
Good stuff 👍
Nice!
❤❤❤
great video!
So cool
This is so good
I was just about to call the fact it was a sequal to Blacksmith >:D
New Chase Noseworth!?
Maybe a sequel of the blacksmith trying to destroy the literal blade but ends up releasing damned souls and corrupts himself in some way?
YESSSSSSS
Fuckin' banger. Love your work and this is next level. I am just starting dark souls 3 and this is great!
Oh damn! How epic? When can I buy on iTunes?
nice.
This is fantastic will we get an instrumental with it? I wanna steal it for dnd lol.
Different song but: im reminded.
I thought to make a broadsword, for fighting on the field
Much as I know the hammer is a nobler thing to wield
For though us humble tradesfolk choose a quiet life
The gods of war come to the door of the hammer and his wife
Know the name of the song?
@tatefreeman4563 longest John's. The hammer and the anvil
@@dragonkingofthestars Oh hey! I love longest johns! I'll give it a listen, thanks!
Can we please get an instrumental? This would be a banger boss theme!
Death Knights DMs! use em more!
Why does the blacksmith remind me of Perrin from the wheel of time
i had to google that as i assumed it was an insult. Thankyou :)
When the sequel is better than the first one
This really reminds me of Godhunter by Aviators.
I wish to know if the brother lived.
Well this totally isn't going to feature in any D&D campaigns in the future or anything 😉
man this story is deep cause it starts with this song th-cam.com/video/6ORbK75WTcY/w-d-xo.html
then it tells you what happen to his body with this song th-cam.com/video/QsLN542nvGg/w-d-xo.html
then this video tells you what happens to two brothers that found his body
This is canon now
@@ChaseNoseworthy on a side knw i was playing skyrim last nigth and i found myself humming blacksmith blacksmith as i crafted as much as i could with the ore and leather i had
This is what happens when your sword won’t let you quit…
Who made the armor for this vid.
Oldfield forge :] they’re also the lads in it
"And they were roommates"
really really cool song but the music going from quiet to loud really threw me off
Ah, yes, another cool song. But when Scanlans and Pikes songs? 😢 It's unfair to make songs for 5 out if 7 characters!
