You've gotta give VTOL VR a try! Probably the best VR Flight sim in my opinion since you get to use the motion controllers to reach out and flip all the knobs and dials/grab onto the throttle and stick.
A bit difficult at first, but it has really good tutorials that teach you how to operate the vehicles. You feel like a real pilot once you get the hang of it. Super satisfying experience.

Great video, but damn how did you forget VTOL VR in the category flying games?
All other games in that category were 'only' VR supported. VTOL VR is a VR only game which comes with features for that like every button in the cockpit is usable with motion controllers.
It is the best flying game for VR, because it is simply the most immersive one. Definitely a top 3 game for me. Great sweetspot of simulation and casual.
I really can't believe you missed to list it. It is a must have game for anyone who enjoyed flying in any game even if it was only in battlefield.

Excellent video, and there are a couple of the puzzle games I'll probably try out based on your recommendation!
For Exploration\Puzzle games, I liked Obduction, made by Cyan, the developers of Myst.
Another good puzzle series is I Expect You To Die (and its sequel), a seated game where you play a 60s super-spy in various campy scenarios.
The Oculus-exclusive Vader Immortal trilogy is fantastic if you're a Star Wars fan.
A short but interesting puzzle game is A Fisherman's Tale, which does some wild things with scale and recursion. It's going to be getting a sequel soon as well.

I think you can really tell, that developers love VR more than users do/adopt at the moment. There are so many titles where you can really feel how much heart and sweat a small developer team has put into them and there is just such a small user-base of just a few million. A very generous buying user base, but still a small one. I sometimes feel bad fearing that developers don't get enough revenue out of their outstanding work.

@@sipsopgamera7624 I think its because these games can be very different to play.
On PC/Console. You move with WASD (or stick) and aim with mouse (or stick). The gameplay hardly differece if you break it down this much.
That's different with VR. The golden standart isn't found yet, so different games can feel very different.
This doesn't mean that VR is better because of it just that it's not refined to the point PC/Consols are.

    • @Cathal7707
      @Cathal7707 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@garrettrot46 For sure, but its a small team. All the effort goes into the guns, if they focussed on multiplayer, the mechanics would have been watered down, likewise for other features. I think there is a gap in the market for detailed gun sims with multiplayer and better gameplay outside of the guns, but it'll need a larger studio to make it happen. Even at that, I dont think anyone will have the passion that Anton has for gun detail.

I say Beat Saber includes many pros that could make it be considered one of the best games (overall) of all time

"you do need a very powerful PC to run this one well"
I mean I can't say it ran perfectly but I ran project wingman on a 970 and it worked just fine.

A very good flight sim thats easy to learn and very easy for your computer is VTOL VR. It is only 2 gigabytes, has a ton of community content, controls well, and is easy to learn.

I highly recommend TWD Saints and Sinners to anyone who hasn’t played it yet. That game is a work of art.
(it’s not just for pcvr it’s available on psvr and Quest)

    My top 10 list:
    1. Half-Life: Alyx
    2. Boneworks
    3. Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners
    4. Medal of Honour: Above and Beyond
    5. Beat Saber
    6. Lone Echo
    7. Pistol Whip
    8. Until You Fall
    9. Pavlov
    10. Stormland
I feel like ranking VR games is a lot harder than flat screen games, because many games like Boneworks would make pretty bad flat screen games but brilliant vr games and games like Medal of Honour would make great flat screen games, but not the best VR titles. Games like Saints & Sinners and HL:A do both perfectly.

Overload and Sub Level Zero are definitely glaring omissions.
They are basically both Descent in everything but name. With Overload being developed by former Descent devs.
Sub Level Zero is much simpler graphically and also a rogue like.
Overload is Descent in the same way that Bloodstained RotN is Castlevania.
I cannot recommend either of these enough, especially if you have any kind of flight stick controller. A HOTAS is best of course, but even just a stick adds tons of immersion.

I would recommend dolphin VR because you can play most gamecube and wii games in VR. The game that works the best for it is probably Metroid prime. It plays so well in VR that it feels like it was made for it.
