Get the van!!! Best decision I’ve ever made. I am kinda in a similar situation where the jobs are pretty remote but the van has made me way more organized and it keeps all of my tools dry and safe!!!
It seems weird to me to buy something you rely on most every day for your job based on style. They spend so much time rummaging through the bed of the truck and can carry way less.
@@johannes.f.r.Depends on how it’s set up. I do HVAC and my boss likes the pickup way more than the van. More comfortable to drive, don’t hear everything rattling back there
@@robertmooney571Yes. I’m also glad that someone else did a better job than I would’ve at teasing Erik (Jaime apparently didn’t attend). Erik has a good sense of humor, so NBD (and I’ll have to watch again to see what I missed). ✅
So happy jono got to go here. What a loyal fuckin guy man. I hope this crew rocks together for another 15 years. This channel truly was a big reason I got into the trade. I appreciate the hell out of the Perkins crew 🤙🏼.
I think Erik is in love! You guys would have to think about the Van option. Just think of all the cool stuff you can build onto it, big fold out batwing awning for shade, solar on the roof for onboard power, built in air, a Packout system that can carry enough tools and supply's for two jobs with space for any big items you have, a dry safe office space for Jamie with a fold down "plan" table and Starlink. It's up to you how far you want to push it, one and done or a bit by bit build.
Here in Germany you find pickup trucks for commercial use almost nowhere. I lived in cities, towns and 2 rural villages and every tradesman uses vans and the ones who do use flat bed trucks, have bigger ones. Imagine 3 times the size in storage area, than a pickup truck. Maybe it's because the weather is more unpredictable or that the population density is higher, who knows. But having your tools in a dry and secure spot is worth a lot.
I’ve often wondered why you guys don’t work out of a tool trailer. I’d go nuts every time I had to park my truck somewhere with all those tools in the back.
It's mind-blowing the range of tools nowadays to when I started work In 1965 at fifteen. Great vid love your camaraderie with your work mates. Stay safe from over the pond in the U.K.
The van vs. truck discussion is interesting. Seen all of your trucks and always wonder how you find anything in them? Europe -like all over, everyone has vans
Agreed.... They have a great niche of solid M12 tools that are lighter and smaller than the M18 line. I have both M12 and M18 tools, but I start off using my M12's if I can. Great tools!
@32:26 You KNOW Jono is into Milwaukee (besides the obvious tattoo) because this is the MOST he's ever talked in a video. The man became an instant product manager and you can see the excitement in his face! :) And TBH, I'm going to be looking at Red seriously. As a DIY'er DeWalt works fine for me. But some of the innovation is out of the park.
I used to work at a golf course and those oscillating weed wacker heads were perfect for cutting around ponds and streams because you could actually cut reeds and other aquatic weeds back under the water
That’s insane. Milwaukee are out of control in the battery tool market. They are totally changing the tradesman industry. I just wish I was young again to take advantage of all the new tools they have. Well done Milwaukee!
Great video! Like you said its nice to see an employee that actually knows everything about what they are selling. Way to go Milwaukee! I like how they are continually coming out with new products using the same style of battery.
I worked in a factory and I only used Milwaukee screwdrivers. Here in Brazil, these tools are competitive with Dewalt and Makita... I would love to have one of these tools in my hands. See you in the next video from São Paulo - Brazil.
Awesome!! I've quickly become a Milwaukee lover here in Australia over the last few years. Unfortunately we can't get the full range but at least they are here now (I soooo wish this kind of stuff was around when I was building!) Thanks for sharing all the great gear, the staff were great!! I'm certainly with Johno, I could spend a lot on that gear! Cheers! 👍👍
Wow this was a GREAT Video! I’m not a builder or a carpenter and I want half the tool’s & equipment Milwaukee Sells. That was a great tip Jono had with the battery operated light & charger Definitely need that in a black-out, again great video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My husband has a number of Milwaukee products and enjoys them, I have one, the heated coat and love it 😂. Looks like you and Johnno had a great time and I hope Johnno found his box/name 😊
looking forward to this stuff! Jono made a good point, that the lights are good for camping! I take heaps of my Milwaukee gear camping, blower for the fire and clean up, chainsaw, recip saw, heated jacket, vac, radio. I have one of the clip on to the battery things for charging my phone, will be buying the light one!
Now that you’re a BIG time TH-camr it’s about time you get on the Milwaukee program. I’m very partial to Milwaukee I like seeing all my favorite TH-camrs in my town.
Hey that’s the Trade hotel! I worked on that building! We did all the ACM panels and everything you see on the outside basically. Including the stuff up 120’ in the air! So cool to see
Love new tools DeWalt guy here mainly because we didn't have anyone local selling Milwaukee until truevalue became ace hardware closest store before was hour and half away
You guys were like kids in a candy store, cracked me up! That being said, I can totally understand your excitement. I'm a bit of a tool geek myself, even tho I don't really have much need for buying/owning my own tools, as being a 70 yr old female I usually hire help for projects that require much more than very simple/basic tools. Even so, I do have a fairly decent collection of tools, likely more than what many folks would expect of woman of my age to own, hahaha. Great video, your enthusiasm for all the new tools really came thru. I can't imagine the self-restraint that was necessary to ensure you didn't pre-order thousands of dollars of new tools.
I have a Milwaukee framing nailer, my only battery based nailer. The other nailguns I own are all tied to the air compressor. It's annoying to go on the roof with a long air tube going up. Then reaching it's maximum length, and having to go back to the ground, move the compressor and go back up. I plan on buying that roofing nailer in the next year.
Ummmm.........so what did you buy me at the show? You know, your number 1 fan on the left coast! 😊 Some of the tools and new batteries are very impressive! Keep Smiling and Stay Grateful
That was an impressive array of products and very well presented by a series of knowledgeable and friendly staff. It makes me regret my previous Makita commitment. My younger brother went the Milwaukee route years ago and is in a far better position to take advantage so I sent him this link. Thankyou for a great video and I guess we'll be seeing more red onsite in the future..
Oh Eric. You definitely said the Mikita accessories, Surprised they didn’t correct you. Otherwise another awesome Perkins video !! Keep up the fantastic content. 👍🏼
John-o is a man after my own heart. I made it to the Asheville airport once after the counter closed, had to take my "not yet checked" bag thru security, and was the last one on the plane.
Good to see Jono getting some camera time & being taken on a trip. I got quite a lot of Milwaukee M18 kit but whats putting me off buying more is how crap the electronics are, cost to replace them is almost the same buying the tool new. Eletronics failed in my CCS66 circular saw & my M18 Surge Impact Driver & repair costs are prohibitive so tools just get thrown away instead of repaired purely because a MOSFET or something has failed. Will that Duplex nailer fire non Milwaukee duplex nails? Or are the nails proprietary?

You could also fitout a truck. There's a lot of solutions, with long slides and a ton of storage.
another vote for getting a van, l wouldn't be without one, trucks are wasted space.
