Stranjah please never stop making videos I love them like the world might be burning in the middle of a pandemic on the brink of war but there's still gonna be someone chilling out and giving people tips on how to eq the amen break and that's you my man
I got bored of making house music and your channel is easing me back into the world of Drum & Bass. This is the only channel I need. Thank you for being so ****** awesome Stranjah!
I don't think I will ever make electronic music because for me, a classical musician, everything seems so scary and I don't even have a computer to start doing something, but it won't stop me from watching your videos, they're so interesting
This hilarious to me bc even though I got into making music on a computer bc of rap and electronic… I’ve ended up composing classical pieces and use so much of what I’ve learned from classical composers. In the beginning it seemed so much for feasible than learning an instrument and even worse having to record live stuff. In other words if you find this interesting, you should definitely give it a try.
I suppose when talking about frequency ranges to boost in order to bring out certain elements of the amen, it really varies depending on the pitch (speed) you're playing the amen. Really isnt a catch all. I've always found the amen difficult to mix properly because there's such a big freq range too it. Great video as ever man!
For sure, it's a useful guide though to demonstrate what this kind of EQ technique can do to a break in general. I didn't know I could/should EQ this many points on a drum break to get that kind of sound, so while it doesn't apply to other pitches, the technique is the helpful inspiration.
Been struggling to get my Amens to sound like this, turns out ive not been EQing them anything like what your doing here. Well watching this video has helped no end, honestly thank you so much man, this is a great tutorial, cheers !!!
Hiya buddy, Your videos and advice have been a great help, I have upmost respect for you. There is a useful break / drumroll in the 1994 prodigy track 'Voodoo people' otherwise known as the 'voodoo break.' I will be using this in my new tracks. Any of your tips or advice on Arranging & EQing in a future video would be much appreciated.. Thanks ;)
...Then you can start to do the breaks through same way from different drum loops. Then combine it all, but don't forget to side chain everything on everything.
I think there's a demo bro, check it, new levels of cleaning a break and making it sound very modern, then I add some sample x and decapitator and then a stock eq at the end to clean up any added lows and highs ...
Force of habit. I want it to sound crisp immediately. I think it would be good practice to try it from the bottom up. Good on you for bringing that up!
I'm wondering why there is no particular JUNGLE-ALBUM by STRANJAH out on Spotify yet?!? Or even an EP. I really love these oldschool-vibes combined with new production skills.
carefull with the 3 k 7 and 11 a sure way to ruin hearing at volume, hi hats and cymbals do better into soft tubes tape plugin with a bit more punch too, depends on the crossover on your monitors also

They’re the AIAIAI TMA-2 Wireless Studio Headphones. Love how they sound and they almost make me forget about my balding scalp and impending mid-life crisis. Almost.
I tried about 1000 times to recreate Paradox - Curse of Coincidence or Perhaps The Future by EQing the Amen - and I failed. Where is that damn snare frequency? How was it possible to make the Amens sound like THAT?
No worries I know it was unexpected. I’m currently figuring out what to do with my hair it’s been a long time since I had longer hair. I want to do something cool with it 🤟

Big ups, been waiting for an eq video for a while. Can you do the same vid with bass?
This ☝️
Looking forward to this one. 👊 Wish there was a freq analyser in the new MPC update! You got that MOC yet Stranjah?

Does the slicing preset work with Reaper?
Do you always EQ from top to bottom? Any reason why?

It's jump up for sure - it's almost pre-Belgian jump up since it was made in 2012. Ahead of its time!
@@STRANJAH what’s pre Belgian?
@@alexwild1435 before the Belgium junp up sound was created (or popular)
@@Adam-g-uk oh right, I’ve never even heard of Belgian Jump up, could you recommend any artists to check out?

Yes B please can you do another frequency video finding it very informative Talk dirty... Oscillators to me STRANJAH Thanks man

Equalizer is not enough to help me to make the sound i like.
Compression and saturation next
What's the name of that headphones?

Paradox uses old gear like Akai samplers, mixing desks, mono drums.
I recreated that amen and gave it away when I hit 1000 subs. Check my community page.
