    Childhood memories. BeeWee Tri-star was the first wide body aircraft I flew on between POS and JFK with a stop in Barbados.

    I loved this, brings back the great memories I had as a kid flying on both the BWIA Tristar and md83, and in my humble opinion, it's still one of the greatest liveries of all time!

      Now this one has some story to it!
      I've wanted to get a hold of a piece of moving BWIA 707 image for 20+ years..and only got it this year. The other end of that tale, I must have gone to London 4 times to get that colorful BWIA A340 (and shot it just as I shot the JM A340 seen here)..and they sent that adopted kid instead, that half-dressed one. Just no thrill there at all.
      Anyhow, someone out there shot it, it'll show up soon.
      Great you did some time with them, were you MIA based?

    WOW i miss the old days! My grandpa used to buy me a first class ticket to Barbados for vacation when the school year ended as a gift for me doing well in my studies. I was so lucky to have been able to fly on the L1011 Tristar i remember it roaring down the runway and the sound of the engine and the rush of euphoria you got sitting in the plane and that goose bump feeling when the wheels went up into the fuselage . BWIA was one of the best, and lets not talk about the food that was served! With that true caribbean flare! BEE WEE was the s#it!

    I loved BeeWee for good and bad. First trip in 92 on DC10 St Lucia to Miami. Just watching the colors makes me nostalgic. They did make me sit on the tarmac at JFK for 2hours then missed my connection from Trinidad to St Lucia. Flight made no sense cause usually they would stop St Lucia first. But we flew right over St Lucia.

    wish they had more coverage on the Boeing 707....the l1011, dc 9 ...md83..all were great I truly miss bwia....Caribbean airlines is just a shadow of what bwia stood for...not the same...bee wee had an unmatched pride....some good things are truly unreplaceable.

      @@Starboard76 the Boeing 707 was the original king of the skies...I would say the forgotten king...the young people of today know nothing about practical history....those days there were true pilots...men flew the aircrafts working together....hence there were no women...these days modern aircrafts practically fly themselves so you no longer have true pilots but rather inflight coordinators...thats why its easy now for women to be in the "box office" ...cock pit is when the coordinator is male.....lol

    Wonder why people are fawning over this garbage airline nowadays. It was rubbish then, with constant tardiness and bad service. I can recall missing a few days of school because their staff sent me to one airport when the flight was at another. And I suffered delays over 4 hours. It wasn't a good airline considering they went the way of the dodo. Good riddance I say. Air Jamaica was so much better.

    • @Starboard76
      @Starboard76  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Point taken...but I’m clearly in this for ALL commercial airlines that have left us but we remember seeing them in action. Some people take pride in their home town/national carrier (and many were awful in every way possible - customer service to god awful pilots) but the jetliners have nothing to do with how bad the humans who were flying them..and I’m here to provide what once took to the skies and how saw them doing their thing ...flying! And the includes - the best, good, the dodgy, the bad and the ugly.
      That covers them all.
