Second of all there were ten mobsters the day of the Spilotro murders and ALL of them were hardened, experienced, killers that had lived the life and were still very active at that point. Vincent only saw the life from the outside. Had Vincent gone ahead with any kind of revenge killing he would have likely met the same fate as his Father and his Uncle. Anthony did not want that for Vincent. He wanted him to go in a different direction. That was probably because Vincent wasn't cut out for the mob life like A.J Sopranno. It wasn't in his nature. Anyway justice was done. Most of those mobsters were locked up for long jail terms and died in prison. Had Anthony and Michael lived they would have also met the same fate behind bars, and rightfully so.

Mobsters as far back as Al Capone have used the area as a hide out, contraband drop off exchange, and back in the 70’s and 80’s a drug drop off and pick up place, and especially a great place to get rid of bodies. It’s a huge lawless wilderness especially back then. I remember as a kid in the 80s you could almost feel it in the air , this element of danger, and you didn’t want to mess around, and the locals seemed to have this hush hush about things, like you better keep your mouth shut.

That's one thing we don't really talk about, the family members left behind after getting murdered by the mob, which we see them committing in one of the many films that glorify the life, which we all love watching, so when I see a family member talking about what happened to their family after they found out who and why they got killed, considering they were part of a different kind of family, but this one was ment to have strict rules about killing one another, i.e. it shouldn't be done, but is, and when it is done, it'll be your so-called best friend that pulls the trigger if your lucky that is, cos the two Spilotro brothers didn't have a quick, or painless death, and that's the thanks they get for years of profitable service to the family, see this alone should put people off from wanting to be apart of it, as we know not many make it to retirement age, if by some miracle they do then it'll mostly be spent in prison, which will have its upsides to it, like not having to worry about rent, or how to pay for your next meal, or having to find 1000s each week to pay the bosses, so at least they might be able to sleep abit better, unless they are put next to a gang rival, then it might not be a easy retirement.

It’s a huge lawless wilderness especially back then.
