Some warehouses won't allow a forklift in an unhooked trailer unless the wheels are chocked and a stand is under the nose of trailer. This trailer probably wasn't chocked and the weight of the forklift pushed it forward causing the landing gear to collapse.

I am from the bahamas when you drop a trailer most of the companies put the Jack's in front to help support the weight of the forklift so all the pressure won't be on the landing gear

Hi everyone I work for a water company and we use kick stands for drop trailers because landing gear fail all the time. We have the carriers side tandems to the rear prior to loading.

I ran a dock for years at a precast concrete plant. Forklift drive would loose his job is he loaded a trail without the dock lock engaged, wheels chocked, and stands in place. Once we had a truck drive not check the kingpin ones, pulled out, trailers came loose, collapsed the landing gear. We had two 12 ton forklifts that where able to lift the trailer back up. Never saw that driver again.

Don’t look like there’s any x-bracing put back in. I’d be turning that bill over to the shop that did that.

Perfect reason to keep the tractor hooked while loading.

the 2 landing gear ive seen break during loading have been a clean folding forward break, ive never seen one break sideways. makes you wonder if there was a bad weld in there

I wonder if the forklift driver raced on and locked up the brakes.

I went to pick up a trailer that had the gear replaced, but when I tried to raise the gear, one leg went up, while the other went down. So it stayed put until fixed right.

Kinda funny how they don’t like driving forklifts on flatbed’s while the truck is connected but will drive on van trailers not connected lol

Cool vid! I love watching those big wreckers working. I had a pulley seize up on my work truck and threw all of my belts. It earned me a ride back to the yard in one of those bad boys. They’re pretty awesome. I really enjoy your content!

Fork truck drivers "bulldozing" load into truck from platform, as the weight increases and gets longer and deeper into trailer, the more force is placed on landing gear to hold Trailer back against dock, eventually the landing gear is forced past stress strength and collapses forward, breaking landing gear, without the tractor in place as a live load, there was nothing to hold trailer up, This was loaded improperly, wheel chocks on both sides should have been provided and in place, verified by the loading fork truck operator. 40 YEARS OF LOADING TRUCKS, THATS HOW I KNOW ! Fork truck driver was lazy

I know where that is. It's Saputo dairy in White Bear Lake, MN. Just off of US hwy 61. Been there many times. I never had to disconnect from my trailer when I was there.

Wondering if the forklift operator came in fast and either hit the load or locked the brakes making the trailer rock hard on the landing gear bending the bracing and own she went
