I've had to be towed a few times going up Snoqualmie Pass and Mt. Hood. I lost traction on both even with 100,000lbs. Both times by the time the tow got there it became a white out. They saved my ass. Mistakes happen especially the first time I got stuck when state patrol stopped like 10 of us trucks because they were clearing an accident and got all 10 of us stuck. Ended up having to shut down the pass because of us. I have so much respect for these guys!

Ron, you never judge a driver for his mistake, you just do the job that is to be done. Watching your videos you bring a level of comfort to a driver when the driver knows they have messed up. Thanks to you and your crew for what you do.

    • @AkedaLvl999

This wasn't a mistake. You don't accidentally make a u-turn and drive into a ditch. Too many people are afraid of hurting someone's feelings for something that could have been completely avoided. What if this "Mistake" ended up hurting some innocent family?

We just finished a 5000 mile road trip and made sure to stop and take a picture outside your shop on the way-it was only a hundred miles out of the way but my wife is a big fan. It was last Saturday so nobody was around, unfortunately.
Still fun to see where the work gets done.
    Keep it up!

Ron I know as a Dad you are proud of the young man Ethan has become. I remember back a few videos ago of a younger Ethan and yourself recovering a BMW out on the interstate. Keep up the good work and videos.

    • @stellarproductions8888
      @stellarproductions8888 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

I was just thinking about the stolen BMW in the woods video. Back then Ethan did a lot of standing around, waiting to be told what to do. Now days, Ethan takes charge, does what needs to be done, and even remembers to do the 3-toots to the horn for reverse. He's come a long way, and one day he will be a leader, and Ron will get to do what his dad did, and get to enjoy semi-retirement. Kenny is a darn good worker too, he seems to have also come a long way since we first saw him.

@@stellarproductions8888 As one who have done it i know how hard it is to work for/with your dad.

Keep up the great work (I actually just got my towing endorsement last week for New York State so I’ll be joining the tow truck community fairly soon and your videos have taught me a lot and also have shown me that my physics classes in college weren’t a waste of time) thank you for all that you do and stay safe out there

Good clean recovery. I've been having a thought about the Q siren. Assuming the truck has a city horn, instead of using a dashboard switch what about wiring a double throw switch to the horn button. That way with the selector in the siren position you don't have to move your hand from the steering wheel to activate the siren. When you're not running code you can just flip the switch and still have the "soft" horn. I remember years ago police cars having a similar setup.

That remote is well worth the extra cost, both for safety outside the dead zone if something snaps, and it allows you to see the entire scene. So important to not get too greedy with each pul, too far forward loses down force needed for traction, too close gives it more lift than drag/pulling force. Ethan is learning to Anticipate what you need next, which is good and will make him a great team player when you have to use two or three wreckers on a recovery.

Great recovery, it was more than just a winch out. Big learning experience for the driver. except for the landscape in the ditch he really didn't tear much up. Just delayed a bunch of people. lucky nobody drove their car under him.

The frame was twisted on the truck. That could easily be enough to total it out.

Yes Ron we all make mistakes, common sense tells ya not to do a uturn especially in a 18wheeler on a 4 lane go to the next exit or legal turnaround. I hope that the Cape PD give this guy a soverniour for his trouble.🤙🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸👍

I wonder what the driver got fined for making an illegal U-turn like that? Since he obviously didn't make it and had to be pulled out. Hopefully he learned his lesson and will not make that mistake twice! Ron and his 'Tator are always on hand if he gets stuck again! Another fast recovery by Ron Pratt and his Rotator! 😊👍

Gave the beast a workout. 44k on and pulling it sideways.
Great to see Kenny again, reckon he's kept busy on the ... Weatern Star, if memory serves, so we don't see him much, but when we do, he always dives straight in and knows what nedds doing.
