To my ears the SE sounds crisper, but the XM5 sounds fuller/richer. I just bought the Apple AirPod Max but haven't taken them out of the box. From your and other reviews I don't think I will keep the Apple headphones. Instead I will return and go for Sony.
Thanks for this review. Did anyone think about buying the extra cable with a microphone (18€ at the bose store)? I feel like this could work and I am hoping that the cable mic has a better quality...
So which ones block wind noise ? The ultra (but it has a low max volume) the qc 35 (which they dont make anymore). And is there another one ? 45 blocks no wind. Its horrible
Oh man! What a wonderful channel !!! Sir, you do an awesome job !!! One more followers :) Thank you for your hard work ! I love heavy metal music and i bought the heavys h1h, but they lack so much of trebles ! Heavys were supposed to give us an app before the end of 2023, but no app and we are 28th of december :( What is your favorite headphones for metal? Bose? B&w? Sony or something else? (Without heavys). One last question, i have over 100 earbuds (not joking) wireless, but i have never listen to iems (wired). Have you ever listen to iems and if yes, are they sound better than wireless earbuds?! Before spending thousand and thousand of dollars i just want to know if iems really worth the price. Do they lack in bass compared to wireless earbuds? Thank you sir and i will watch every videos on your channel! Have a nice day, oh and by the way sorry for bad english i speak french :) Bonne journée et merci !
Thanks mate, your english is perfectly understandable :) My favourite Headphone for Music is the Nuraphone, due to its customization. I dont have much experience with IEMs, i have roughly tested 3 or so by now, so i cant say much about them, the sound was good.
Listening to the test, the SE it is not the same headphone. It sounds like the QC35 and the QC45, so: BAD. It is harsh on the top and lacks definintion on the bass. It is a waste of money (like has always been...) compared to the new QC and the QC Ultra and the Sony XM4/5, that sound a lot better and much more balanced and defined. The fact is: if you want a "Bose" brand on your head, but you do not give a s..t about the quality of the sound, get the SE. Otherwise get the upper models. But at the price of the SE there are a bunch of better-sounding models even from Sony or other famous brands.
Awesome review, thanks very much for putting this together. Saved me a tonne of time! 🙏🏽 My question is around the sound quality. I actually felt the SE’s sounded quite “tinny”, and the MX5s quite “boxy”. I felt the Bose Ultras had the most warmth and depth. Do you have a favourite overall for sound quality? The EQ curves in these things must differ quite a bit! Thank you! Dimitri
As usual bose qc45 3rd pair dead again so got a gift card replacement I absolutely love skull candy that rumble on your head but do I get the bose se ? I can't decide if their the same headphones as the qc45 I had they'll also have the same dead power fault
Im looking to get a pair of Quietcomfort, but find it kinda hard to see the differences of the models. Whats the newest / best model? I see some called 45, SE, and Quietcomfort ANC.
I currently have the Bose QC 35 II and they are starting to die so looking into new ones, I've always enjoyed the Bose QC line but with these the bass hasn't felt so punchy when combined with my phone (on my laptop it's a bit better). Which would you recommend if I generally enjoy the Bose headphones but need some more crispy bass and solid mids in my ears? Just get the QC SE or switch to the Sony WH-1000MX5? I ended up sticking to the QC range for the past 7ish years because of how comfortable they are combined with a nice sound (I wear them 2-10 hours a day). Been thinking about Heavys but reviews are so mixed that for the current price I don't dare to lol
Hello, what did you end up going with? My Sony's died yesterday and I'm having a mini heart attack at the price of the MX5s lol. I was thinking of going the QC SE option.
@@sleepy1171 I ended up going QC SE cause they just fit more comfortably for me, and also the price! With the newer noise cancelling and EQ options they can both sound great. The QC's bass gets a little more artificial when put on max, but if you play around with all the settings you can get a nice and balanced mix. It's definitely easier to get there for the Sony's but if you put in a few minutes of extra effort you'll be just as happy with the QC's.
Hard decision. I liked the Momentum 4s sound the most, but they were super buggy when i first got em a year ago. Overall, i kept the sony and the bose for comparisons.

🤷♂️ 🤣
Bose QC SE is not a a QC with a soft case!
SE is a QC 45 with a soft case!
I know. That’s what i meant
Just bought a pair for my self and came to see if i made a good choice. Great review keep up the good work👍
thanks, good luck with yours.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 is my preferred Headphones right now, if i had to choose between the 3 you mentioned, id go for the xm5.

Hello. I experience that a lot of sound are “slipping” out? Not very practical. Anyone else has this problem?
What do you mean by slipping out?
Nice video. Thanks pal
I got it for 169€
A bit more ANC testing in different scenarios would be useful I think ;-)
im testing it in quite a lot of different scenarios, but i dont film that.
Are the se any good for listening to rap or is the sound too flat?
Quite okay for rap
@@LeechTM okay thanks and happy new year man (I’m french btw)
what would you suggest for rap & reggeaton music?@@LeechTM
probably something a bit more mid and bass focused, so id say go with the Edifier 950nb, same price range, more bass.
Bose sound is awful, I ve always hated but I have to take them for long flight as the sony are not enough comfortable after 1h!😡
which sonys are you talking about?
@@LeechTM the x5, when I listen to the testing with an aircraft noise, it s much better
excellent content ! thank you
You are welcome!

does the bose qc se have any sound leak?
Not really.
He sounds exactly like Arnold
who is arnold? Do you mean the Governator?
@@LeechTM Yes, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I couldn't spell his last name, so I just typed Arnold.
Hi just found your review on this qc se, is it better than xm5 or momentum4 overall? Im after anc, transparency, neutral sound and call quality

Hello, amazing video, but I’m wondering, are they weather resistant and can i wear them in the rain?
Most over Ear headphones are not water resistant, same goes for these. Lite rain is fine though

As an American, I don't understand what he's saying. Speak slower and more precise.
there is always the option for subtitles :D
Not always..
i would love to know, if there is a distinctive german accent audible for you native speakers?
Native English speaker (New Zealand) and I understand you perfectly, even with your nice strong accent! Great video btw, exactly what I wanted!
He’s speaking English. Cowboy. How can you not understand?
Found the bose se on amazon for 190€ are these good for under 200 euros or is there a beter headphone out there for this price range?
190 is the regular price.
