    If you have an M1 Pro or Max in that MacBook, you're golden with streaming. Base M1 should do decent too. My whole Twitch channel is powered by a Mac Studio with M1 Max. OBS is Apple Silicon native now. Everything works just fine. The only downside is that not all the fancy OBS / Twitch plugins are available but for semi-professional streaming the new Macs are amazing now!

    • @JoshBuildsStuff

  • @TheCoolFactor

    Turquoise Alex drawer units represent! That is what actually inspired the similar color vibe in my studio in the first place and kicked off the whole design of my space. They are always in stock cause nobody wants them in this color :D I even got a matching dark blue blackout shade from IKEA that also nobody wants! And yeah, walnut combines so well with dark blue / turquoise. Congrats on the revamped space, Josh! Great minds think alike :D

    This looks amazing!!!! If you’re ever up in or around Boston, I’ve got a basement you are free to help me with! lol. Uhmm, did I see a vinylmation on one of your shelves?? I used to collect those- yunno, when they were pretty readily available.. that collection, like my current lego collection, got a little out of control.. which brings me back to the basement! I digress- great job, I love it! Did you use a specific brand of the rgb lights or could you recommend one? I’m thinking of automating parts of the house (mainly to confuse my mother lol) but the basement will likely be mostly automated lights & prob a Google whatever googles name is for it’s not-Alexa thing.. anyway, congrats on the office, congrats on the baby, and congrats on whatever else you want to be congratulated for.. that works, right? Yeah. 🎉

    • @JoshBuildsStuff
      @JoshBuildsStuff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is indeed a vinylmation figure. I bought that as a gift for my wife before we were even married, so at least 12 years ago at this point. The smart bulbs are Govee brand. They're much cheaper than something like Hue and some of the strip lights are Govee as well. Functionality is a little limited when controlling them from the Stream Deck, but controlling them via phone gives a ton of functionality and prebuilt effects. I think they'll also integrate with Alexa, Home kit, Google etc but I haven't messed with that personally.

    • @KristenWhere
      @KristenWhere ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoshBuildsStuff lol nice job w the vinyl! My friend decorated 2 of the huge ones for my wedding eons ago & had people use them as a guestbook- so, knowing my friends, I have 2 giant vinyls that I can’t display anywhere bc of either really obvious innuendos etc lol. Oh good, I had kinda narrowed it down to Govee & whatever anyone else had experience with! Glad you have had decent luck with them! I won’t be running mine from a stream deck but it’s good to know in case I end up needing to. Thanks for the info!

    • @JoshBuildsStuff
      @JoshBuildsStuff  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a storage unit very close to my house that I can stop buy to grab sets as I need/want them. I don't have a sorted parts collection right now so any bulk parts are in storage too.

    4:04 what are the gray walls and the black strip mounts called those would be perfect for my room

    • @JoshBuildsStuff
      @JoshBuildsStuff  ปีที่แล้ว

      The gray walls are custom panels I made out of foam insulation boards sandwiched between hardboard and the "concrete" look is actually a wallpaper (shh don't tell anyone). I'm not sure which black strips you mean but any of the black trim is just wood, the grate light is a custom design I made out of black trench drains, frosted acrylic, and strip lights. If you mean the shelving brackets on the left wall, those are just twin track upright pieces, usually found around the wire shelving section of a hardware store.
