You can't lose money on lego - if you know what you're doing - you'll always sell it at least for the price you bought it for. You need to choose sets that cannot be replicated - that are unique and will be unique in 10 years (for example, Blacksmith Medieval, 21333, 31120) - if you buy it 3-6 months before it goes out of sale - you can't lose money on this one. The ideal for me is not to buy sets just for the exclusive minifigures - but for the exclusivity of the set as such. If you have a combination of an exclusive set + exclusive minifigures, it's a clear winner - for example, the Daily Bugle.

    • @Caesar2001
      @Caesar2001 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Selling Lego is a waste of time you will not always be able to sell something easily because there are a lot of resellers hence why it would take you a long time to sell. If you're not planning to be a massive reseller with huge stock than you should just invest in other things that don't take years just to get you extra 200 bucks off a set. You can make 1000x that amount in that timeframe if you know how to invest 😂

    • @romankristofic3208

@@Caesar2001 Lego is fun for me. It is very easy for me to choose the top lego set every year. He can do it for you 50 percent a year - if you know what you're doing, which in my opinion is not a little. That comment of yours is shot - you connect speculation with investing - if you are referring to cryptocurrencies by 1000 times. In addition to lego, I also invest in real estate - mainly land, shares and cryptocurrencies. I take precious metals as equivalent to cash. So teach me what to invest in right now and it will make you 1000 times in a short time. Well thank you.

I personally buy and sell/invest in lego minifigures. Its less of a risk to invest in most and even though the reward can be less, the money you invest with also is less as a result. plus i'd rather have a bunch of figs rather than actual sets, and the lower price and higher demand of figs means that you'll prob be able to sell them faster than you would an entire set. i'd personally rather take a minifig worth 200$ that I could sell in a day than a 1000$ set that I could sell in a few months.

Bo-Katan from Clone Wars and Bo Katan Live Action are not the same. The same reason the Fifth Brother and Grand Inquisitor still hold some great value. Does it affect it, yes. Is it significant, that's debatable. The only reason it is a problem is people hold their "investments" way too long. If your intent is to sell it later, then know when to sell.

It's less investors buying up all the sets, it's more, stealing the last 3 of a set on clearence at walmart before a poor family, who can't afford Lego without the clearence for their kids birthday, can find a set their kid loves. So that is what turns me off about investing. You can buy all the full priced sets you want after they come out, it's the hunting for clearence and buying the last 3 left in a special Walmart clearence, that makes me hate investors.

Ebay costs in the US? Here in Germany it is free as long as you are a private seller and didn’t buy to sell what is defined by law as selling it at least one year after you bought it. So pretty easy.

5:21 not completely true because most people who just want to build and display the set don’t care if they are sealed, so therefore like idk 90% of people buying sealed sets I feel are other collectors, so this doesn’t really help the market, it’s just kinda some other mostly insulated market.

7-Even sets that are re-released got new minifigures different from the old ones and most of the times its in the minifigures where the big bucks are. Sure it can drop a little in price but rarely to the point where its worth less than what you paid for it not to mention that if you are a smart investor you NEVER buy the sets at the full sale price.
6-Space is irrelevant. If you dont have the space just invest in whatever else you dont need such space.
5-If you are a fan of the hobby itself, doing research is fun.
4-You dont buy the sets at full price. You dont need to sell at ebay. Plenty of spots to sell your stuff without giving such fees (can take more time? Sure.... but if you dont have time or you dont want to wait your in the wrong spot anyway). Shipping will mostly be supported by the buyer. Packaging you can just reuse some old boxes.
3-Ofc its not passive income. Again... if you do it as a hobby its time well spent.
2-If it wasnt for lego investors, people in the future wouldnt even be able to get into the hobby as full collectors since no one would hang on old sets. Now, due to investors, people can just join the hobby and say "hey... i want to have all star wars lego minifigures!" Sure... thats possible DUE TO.... Lego investors! As if other people have anything to do with our own business... If they want a set that is selling for less they can just go to wherever its selling for that price and buy it as any lego investor can.
1-It's not saturated... IMO. The world has almost 8 billion people. if you go into bricklink at most times you have 200-300 of each set. DO you think that is alot?! Thats the same thing with every hobby. Pokemon is "saturated", MTG is "saturated" What isnt?!?!?! Theres still plenty of room for everyone to enjoy and if more people join, hell.... there will also be alot more people buying! Im an investor and i still buy old sets and other new sets from other investors...
There could be other points that you could have explored better my friend.
NOTE: Never buy 40-50 sets of the same thing! Just buy 5 or 6 of each and you can fund your own lego collection. Ofc you wont buy a 1million house but at least its cool to be at your place and watch all those lego boxes together. If you enjoy the hobby....

So idea is to make people think: Why to pay 500-600 usd for Old Fishing Store or Apocalypseburg, if you can get for this money, let say Mos-Eisley Cantina plus Medeival Blacksmith, plus you can get double vip points plus unique promo GWP… and free shipping… So Lego is aiming to have so many available in retail adults sets that most of average Lego people will see no reason to pay triple price for retired sets…
