Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio - Reasons To Buy It In 2023!!

  • The Giulia Quadrifoglio is an absolute beast of a car It runs a 2.9 V6 twin turbo engine producing 500 bhp through the rear wheels. This is a serious car and the MY2020 Giulia quadrifoglio has a slightly different interior to the previous model, with MY2024 coming soon it raises a question around if the first generation Giulia QV is now a bargain buy and should you get one an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio in 2023?

    Own a 2019 QV with around 8 months now. Will be keeping it for at least 4 more years and replacing it with another one. Iv had over 10 performance cars over the years including 3 M cars. The Quad is the best driving experience iv ever had. Amazing ,special, glorious car.

    I owned a 2017 Giulia QV for a short spell last year, and covered 10,000 miles in just 4 months, before then switching into a G80 M3. At the time, I felt as though I was missing out on some of the modern tech and creature comforts that BMW offer (having had a few fast BMW's before the Alfa), but I was quite disappointed. I didn't have a bad word to say when I switched out of the QV, but after spending some time in a nearly new BMW, I realised just how much better the Alfa was at delivering an engaged, authentic, and special driving feel.
    I don't think it's just a BMW related problem, but instead all new cars are feeling incredibly electronic, silenced, and detached. No doubt the G80 M3 was a great machine that's hugely capable, but in terms of an all-round driving experience, I wasn't sold. I ended up keeping it for 7 months (which would have been far less, if I hadn't spent a fair bit getting some noise out of the car) and am now in a Pre-OPF Vantage. The AM has that engaged, special feel but with 3 doors and double the price tag of a QV. Once I've got my high-end 3 door sports car fix, I'll definitely be going back to the Quadrifoglio. With some PS4s and an Apple CarPlay integration, you can't beat it for the money.

Never actually been able to test drive one, every time we’ve tried to arrange with a Scottish dealership there’s always an issue with them getting a hold of a Guilia or Stelvio QV. We’ve raised with Alfa UK numerous times over years, to no avail. We’ve been previous owners of Alfas which we loved a great deal, but our hands have been pushed into ‘other’ performance brands that we’ve never really had the same love affair with 😢. However ……. we’ve ordered a Maserati Grecale Trofeo, due to be here within next two weeks and can’t wait. Real shame about not being able to get into an Alfa again, but a bit pissed with their attitude truth be known, although!!!! Will always love their product 🤷‍♀️. The main problem for me would be the fact that the Giulia Quadrifoglio is only rear wheel drive (compared to the Stelvio Q which has Q4). Seeing how easy that thing looses grip on a wet surface scares me if I would drive it as a daily.

    • @StefABtv
      @StefABtv  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It will only lose traction hugely in race. In dynamic it will cut the power of the slide is too much and hold some power back in natural so very usable but you can use it like a pure drivers car in race. The whole
      Video was filmed in race in the rain on p zero corsas so it looks worse than it is lol

      I was recently braking from about 180mph quite sensibly, and then the ABS kicked in for the last 100yrds and I slightly overshot and got too deep , it reminded me to wind my neck in a little bit in this car, it is an absolute raw weapon, I love the fact that when I turn all the nonsense off it delivers a pure drivers car experience with enough scare factor to force you to respect it, that said, this thing will dance happily sideways on track in 3 digit speeds with complete ease, awesome car.
      It needs that scare factor to force your respect, so you don't drive it like a div everywhere :D

Generally, the later generation cars are more refined, not as sharp / fun to drive.

    I have noticed many of these with not many miles and multiple owners and wonder if it is too much power for most people in 2WD guise. If they were to bring out an AWD/2WD (technology already in the Stelvio) they may sell more of them.

      I had my Quadrifoglio for just over three years and I loved it to bits (just the perfect drivers car, something I felt BMW lost - was a huge M car fan).
      TBH I did sell the car for exactly the reason you mentioned. It wasn’t the fact it was RWD, it was I found I couldn’t use anywhere near the full power of the car on the public road. I’m now blatting around in a GR Yaris which for the twisty back roads where I live is just perfect although I do miss that Alfa so much.

    The Alfa QV is the last of the breed of performance saloon car, Alfa is starting off the future with Tonale hybrid. The emissions will kill off the Gulia QV in 2025 Alfa will stop production of Gulia and Stelvio. Stellantis own Alfa with hybrid being more expensive to do r and d, remember the true Alfa gulia stelvio. I fear Alfa in future will be rebadged car from another manufacture as r and d for new car costs so much. There will never be another Alfa with same driving feel as the QV. Stef be interesting comparison if you got new BMW and Mercedes and Alfa drove them back to back on a track I would bet the Alfa would be faster. Even with 200 HP less than German car. No matter how much you try and engineer out certain handling traits if car is 2 tones and other 1500 then lighter less powerful car will be faster as lack weight makes up for less power with more agility. No matter how good cars electronics driver aids they will never compensate for the thing makes car handle well when recipe is correct. The German cars may be generation ahead in terms of technology. They have something that the Alfa QV will never have the weight. All more hp does is make you go faster in straight line, lighter car with less hp can go fast everywhere.

    I was in love with my Giulia and Alfa Romeo as a brand, however, I will never again buy/recommend another Alfa Romeo in my life. I had the brake by wire system fail on me and it caused me to crash and total the car. They sent someone from Bosch to diagnose the vehicle and in the charts it clearly showed that something malfunctioned (brakes were slammed 2 seconds before the impact at 40 MPH and it took more than 1.5 seconds for the speed to start going down.) Stellantis told me that they were not going to take responsibility for it and that I needed to have my insurance pay for the vehicle. Absolute garbage. I will never recommend this car brand to anyone again!!!!!

      Aaron C you are a *TROLL* who really needs to stop spamming every Alfa Romeo video! If what you claim even happened, there's always 2 sides to every story and you cry because you didn't get what you want (full replacement instead of insurance market value?). You're alive... think of fatalities due to proven engineering shortcomings in any car unfortunately, like Audi TT (aero instability) or Tesla (erratic autonomous driving) as examples. Again, if true, you crash a car and *blame a system used by other manufacturers* which is not known to have caused problems to anyone else. Who says you didn't crash due to your inadequate driving skills? GROW UP AND STOP SPAMMING, TROLL and be ashamed you've been dismissed on Alfa forums too.

      I am an "Alfista", but unfortunately this is the real lack of Alfa, terrible assistance, they had to compensate everything and apologize for having put you and the people traveling with you in danger. Unfortunately, some managers don't understand that the best marketing would have been to pay you back everything. However, if you have proof of the manufacturer's defect you should report them to court and force them to pay compensation.
