The place we are exploring today, the huge abandoned monarchy mansion, was inhabited until the end of 2004, not by the original owners, but by another Portuguese family who rented the house in recent years.
The original family comes from noble origins. The father of the owners part of the Portuguese “northern monarchy” counter-revolution, which took place in 1919. Later he was banned in politics and moved to Belgium. The lady of the house had 8 children. One of the children sent many letters to the mother from Angola where she was an ensign on an armed forces ship, but unfortunately, those letters stopped coming in 1968, the year she died in a road accident at the early age of 27 years old.

The Singer machine at the base of the stairs was a clothes press instead of using an iron. The "necklace" in the chapel is a rosary used by Catholics to pray. 💜👩🇺🇸

Another great find, thanks for the tour. I've really enjoyed your tours of different places these past 2 weeks. I'm retired & I was getting bored not being able to visit my daughter or go out to eat. I feel like I'm there with you, you make it so interesting. I've told my other children who live far away that I've been touring different countries. They laugh & ask me hoe I'm enjoying my trips, & then I have to tell them it's all online. They got a kick out of it. Again thanks for sharing these videos so we could come along with you.

Wow. At the end around 24:10 when the orb floats across the screen and it goes into the room on the left a giant shadow moves past almost like the orb took form and created a shadow or was a shadow. Maureno was anyone in the building besides you two when you were doing the Outro?

Enjoyed viewing the entire video. So many rooms with interesting tall windows from ceiling to floor as well as the many doors in this house. I noticed how some doors were closed off to accommodate books shelves. The kitchen had at least as time went on more cooking ranges, some may or may not have worked but kept in the kitchen, such a small refrigerator for the size of the family and can you believe there was a dish washer. No evidence of how the laundry was done, amazing did not see a sewing machine. It is great to learn how others lived. Thanks for sharing with us all. As a senior 70 plus years I do remember seeing pocket doors here in the USA Washington, DC area. Stay safe.

I don't know if y'all noticed, if you did you didn't mention it but the book shelves were built in to the doors in the hallway. I thought it was neat. I almost choked on my taco when Maureno said "1998 that's the year we were born" That would make him 21? Right? Y'all are babies!! I love the way y'all pronounce some words, it's cute. A womans make up table is called a vanity. And ripped Jean's have been in style since the 80s, y'all should look up the 80s style and see just how crazy people dressed in the 80s! 😊That house was amazing and the furniture was beautiful!!

Hello guys, I quickly stop viewing to comment on the Singer appliance (1st level). From my memory I think this appliance is a flat ironing presser that was commonly used to flat iron sheets, pillow cases, hand towels. The top lever goes up, place item on the flat bed and then pull the top lever down that contains the heating elements.. Maybe other viewers might agree. I am from the USA and remember seeing this item for home use. Laundry companies have similar but often larger. Now back to continue viewing this fantastic find.

2:47 This room is beautiful, especially the ceiling and the awesome medallion and chandelier. Love the blue color and curtains. So royally classic. These vandals, need to be caught. You can see the way the home was trashed, they were looking for valuables. The least they can do is clean afterwards. SHOW SOME RESPECT! You wouldn't want this done to your mother's house.😡

It makes watching so much better when I can learn something! So great job guy's, and thank you so much for sharing! Also as someone else mentioned, it would be best to learn more about you two, not just where you're from, but who you are and what makes you tick! 😋 love from North Carolina, USA.

Surprised there wasn’t a back stairway in this place. Interesting about the cups. We hang them up too. I used to collect mugs from places I visited and had a whole wall of them, from chair to almost ceiling hanging on hangers. My ancestors were mostly English so don’t know where that originated but whole family did the same.
The vanities/make-up tables were gorgeous. They’d go nicely in my house 😄. I’ll send you a poem sometime about why left behind toys make me feel so sad.
Great explore. You and your families stay safe ~~~Your Virginia Granny

It's always sad to see vandalism. I honestly don't understand why people feel the need to trash something that doesn't belong to them; it's so pointless.

Hi Maureno and Remon, What a great delight to watch a new video from the fabulous Dutch boys from Team Explomo this afternoon, where
we are forced to stay at home. Moresoever it is such a pleasure to watch you taking us on an inspiring and interesting tour through this
magnificient mansion with these beautiful ceilings and some still nicely visible original furniture. - It's such a shame, that there always have
to be these stupid destructive vandals, who have nothing in their heads but who still are able to destroy a beautiful interior. - I loved that
beautiful chapel. - Of course it was a bit painful for me to see this "Pleyel" piano in such a derelict state. - Wonderful video!
I am already looking forward to your next one. - Stay safe in these insecure times. - God bless you all, my dear Dutch friends.
    Peace and kindest regards.

Loved this house. Wish I could go there and put it back the way the lady of the house had it. The first bed looked like a brass bed. Looked like the room was possibly a butlers pantry beforethe reno. The tables and wardrobes were beautiful. The bookcases were hiding doors. I think they took away from the awesome entrance. These were possibly living and dining areas turned into bedrooms. I would have dedicated one of the smaller rooms for reading. The yellow bathroom was popular in the 60s. There was yellow, green, blue and pink to choose from. There was three stoves. I guess a lot of cooking was done there. Sorry for going on. I always wanted to be a architect since I was a little kid. I would take boxes and design rooms for my dolls. In high school I was told that architect class was only for boys. Senior year they let girls in. I guess that is why I study the rooms. Y'all are the best. Thanks for sharing

4:41 Maureno, is that what I think it is on your neck? You need a winter scarf to cover it up! LOL!!

Love the drone shot of Maureno sitting out there. This house has some nice old furniture. Those chests on the floor were cool too. Sorry I had to laugh when Remon saw the 4 dolls in the chairs lol. This place was loved you can tell. Thank you guys this was great!! Please stay safe an take care 🙂💖💖💖

Hi I also noticed that shadow. But you have to consider, that their Portuguese friend Danny was together with them in that mansion.
Although we don't see him in this video, I would say the shadow could be from him. - Kind regards.

I started watching these explore channels a few months ago with various explores and I find them very interesting and educational. Also, as per the coke bottle 🍼, I grew up in the island 🏝 of Trinidad 🇹🇹 and the coke bottle looked the same as it is today

I have had to type this 3 times now. Argh!
This place is very special. There’s so much I enjoyed and wanted to comment on but I really don’t want to type everything again.
I love Portugal. I was considering retiring to there but there’s too much sun for me.
Your hickey is too funny especially since you tried to cover it up. I always used makeup which worked great. 😂
Jeans have been popular in America since the 1800s. I have a story I will tell you someday.
    Cheers and hugs.

Hi Maurino & Remon!around 10:12 that furniture in the US is called a vanity table( a place for makeup,a chair,& mirror)that 1 looks like a 1950s or 1960s 1.being in the US these places that have a chapel in there home I find very interesting.in the south there is a church every 5 feet or so & in the North the churches r not as close but they r around.I grew up in Barre Vermont.Barre was split into city & town.the Catholic church is in the city but the cemetery is in the town & its not close to each other.back in the day people would walk to the next town to go to church & it took them about I think 7hrs 1 way so the Catholic church decided to build another church closer while being built they had the people gather in homes then in a store.the North was mostly Catholic & in my birth town most of the people were French Canadian & they were Roman Catholics.in many of there homes they had statues of Mary(Maria)with candles, they would also have statues of wainwright they placed in places to protect that area & they had many rosaries.religion was very important to them.I now live in the south & they have a variety of religions but Baptist seems to be the main 1.here in the US they call the states in the south the BIBLE belt because of all the churches.I love getting to see how people around the world r so different but alike in so many ways :-) that view is so breathtakingly beautiful
