I would assume that he has probably seen combs in the bathroom before and knows they belong there or something.
In other videos he loves showering and being blow dryed. There's also a video showing him sneaking into the washroom and trying to quietly leave with a bathroom ingredient--shampoo.

Which is hilarious because a brush would look the same as a gun to a talking bird. And that would make this bird psychic. He says the same to the intruder and the intruder doesn't turn back...boom. There's a reason why it's evil
Speaking of birds in the dark, my buddy was awakened by his African Grey at 02:30 one night. The bird was yelling "Go night night!" over and over. Flipped the light switch on. A mouse was eating some spilled seeds from the floor! The bird knew it was there, and was telling it to go away in his own way! Amazing animals for sure.
Lily C.G. It’s just nonsense that the person put subtitles over notice how when you listen to most of the video without looking at the subtitles the sound don’t make sense
Ok my dudes. Get ready for unbiased and undeniable logic and rationality. Yes, a good portion of what le birb said was rather unintelligible and mostly made sense of by the video uploader's subtitles. If you really think about it that's still pretty remarkable....the birb got surprised and said "it surprised me" and whatnot, along with a statement that shows its association to something scary and/or unpleasant. He definitely knows what he's saying (most of the time), and he means that shit. You should see him yellin' to get down from his bird cage. "I WANT DOWN RIGHT NOW!" right before getting down.
People underestimate animal intelligence but I believe they are smarter than we believe just not in the way we expect. Like cats they use their minds to solve problems critical for survival.
Not in this case. Cockatoos normally pay attention to us so they can learn about our way to communicate, but they don't learn many phrases. They rather keep babbling, trying to imitate our accent. That's why you can subtitle this video in so many ways, and it will probably still fit with whatever Gotcha is saying
Bass Based Some know what they’re saying though, like greys. They might not understand individual words, but they know when they say “time for bed” that it means it’s time for sleep, and treat, and many other words. Alex the grey had a vocabulary of something like 2000 words where he knew what each word meant, although he’s the exception rather than the rule
+Haru the Mage Einstein trains everyday.... I doubt Gotcha got trained everyday . Gotcha is really cute and intelligent to me. He is one talented birdy.
“I need to go” “I need to go in there” “I’m a birdy yo” “I’ll get loud” “Hey it’s the bully drop!” “Control the boy now!” “It’s the monkey boy!” He was not lying lol 🤣🤣🤣
They might not be able to speak it as fluently as we do, but birds are definitely smarter than we give them credit for, to the point where I believe that if humans never took over the Earth, birds would've. They ARE dinosaurs after all, and are waaay better adapted to the planet than we are!
@@Tea_Noire all dinasour models are made in China there's only two dinasours authentic skeletons and those have been proven to be fake. So no to your idea.
what amazes me and leaves me in awe is the fact that animals DO have this ability. this bird is literally COMMUNICATING. you cannot tell me its imitation. it is not.
Everyone that has experience with birds and lives with them can absolutely confirm that they try to communicate. They are incredibly intelligent! You’re totally right! He may not always say the correct word for what he means but there are countless videos I have of him saying intelligent things that pertain to a situation. Some of it is just birdy babble of course. But some has real meaning. It’s awesome 💜
@@GotchaBird truly. its one of Gods greatest gifts. its just SO incredible to be able to experience something like that. i wish your birdy a long and healthy life!
Well, since Gotcha knows it's the bathroom, connecting the suspicious phenomenon to a bath ingredient isn't too shabby. It's not like he asked if it was a manual transmission. THAT would be totally random.
I have a parakeet with a huge vocabulary. This bird is straight up asking to get into the bathroom and he knows what he's asking for. He responds to objects with appropriate statements and I see this in so many of the big birds that do speak. Although parakeets have the world record for the largest vocabulary when it comes to the big birds they have the understanding of the vocabulary that is for sure, he is adorable! I'm amazed and in aw of his intelligence.
@@lethalfire6247 at some point those start to become the same thing. remove the fancy grammar and you literally just have Associating Words With Visual/Auditory/Etc. Cues
@@lethalfire6247 i'm not denying that. what i'm saying is that there isn't a clear line between "associates "bathroom" with something being in the bathroom" and "understands that "bathroom" means the bathroom specifically". they're different, yes, but it's not that easy to differentiate between the two without being in the animal's head.
@@lethalfire6247 okay they understand French then. LMAO Not sure where you get your facts but no I don't know, that's because it's not true. Whatever you believe though, go with that.
more so actually those bird are smarter than dogs by a long shot they have the intellect of a small child, remember the ability of an animal to mimic human speech isn't a good measure of it intelligence since they are literally mimicking the sounds that we associated with meaning. the intellect come from applying meaning to abstract things like a sound and birds are more capable of doing this then a dog
"It surprised me" - Mind blown.Thats very genuine reaction. From all sentences he know he picked this One perfectly reflecting whats happened. Crazy. And then whole tirade of sentences was said in quite logical order! i think this parrot might understand the abstract meaning of this words! Crazy
They can do that. Large birds that can learn words can also learn how to associate them by definition. Some of the things that Gotcha says (in other videos) are really bizarre salads, and just too funny to watch. This one is funny and amazing because he proves that he knows how to have a conversation, even if on a basic level.
Aye. I have a pet cockatiel, and he's learned to ask for a treat by saying "Want a treat". He also learned to say "Uh-Oh" when he drops a treat. After that he learned to drop a treat, say Uh-Oh, then after being given a second treat he would go down and eat them both.
Yeah, that sounds like a hook beak bird to me. Had one for a while; he taught himself to poop in the trash can based only on our reaction to the FIRST time he did it. We didn't have to worry about him pooping everywhere. He just... figured it out. These guys are a lot of work but they're so worth it.
fingerprints I know a green cheek conure who understands a bunch of words, like when someone makes a joke, there are types of jokes that he will react to, he laughs, he laughs at jokes he thinks are funny, it's hard to explain but its absolutely insane to see for yourself, someone makes an abstract joke and you hear him start laughing, he also asks for specific treats. He also says "out?" If he wants you to take him out.
I think Gotcha is a song writer in secret. "I need to go in there, I need to go, I need to go in there, I'm a birdy yo." Someone make a cover of this right now.
ACO Stygian I know that this is a month late, I just found this video last night. I'm going to do this, I have all the lyrics (added in some from other videos to make it a normal song length) I just need to record and edit it
"I need to go in there. I'm a birdy yo."

Bass Based its intelligent
It says stuff its trained to say. It dosent understand the words its saying though
“It surprised me”, ok so this cutie knows exactly what he’s saying 😂😂😂
One question, where in the world did he learn "There's a reason why it's evil"? XD
XD
Jennifer Ellison he didn't really learn it.Sometimes cockatoos just make random speech like noises which can sound like actual sentences
DeadFire 708 Sometimes those birds actually mix up words theyve picked up with their own sounds. My parrot does that and its funny :)

@JSPUBG no they cant communicate in english
arturchop gotcha is smart enough to respond correctly and make it related
arturchop which is amazing

😂
Well, since Gotcha knows it's the bathroom, connecting the suspicious phenomenon to a bath ingredient isn't too shabby. It's not like he asked if it was a manual transmission. THAT would be totally random.

The cockatoo knows how to say full sentences, hes learned English.
Or maybe he associates visual cues with certain words cause you know they don’t comprehend English
@@lethalfire6247 at some point those start to become the same thing. remove the fancy grammar and you literally just have Associating Words With Visual/Auditory/Etc. Cues
@@mozarteanchaos there's a difference between saying words and understanding them look up the Chinese room and you'll see what I mean

Troy Stuart
It's been watching too much Supernatural
Magical Unicorn_27 it's a cockatoo it's just making its normal noises.
more so actually those bird are smarter than dogs by a long shot they have the intellect of a small child, remember the ability of an animal to mimic human speech isn't a good measure of it intelligence since they are literally mimicking the sounds that we associated with meaning. the intellect come from applying meaning to abstract things like a sound and birds are more capable of doing this then a dog

It's either saying "I Gotcha" is his favorite phrase, or he's trying to say " I'm Gotcha"...
His name is Gotcha, so he says it all the time.
Gaming with Nahomy its i gotcha read the subtitles
That was something they picked up from a previous owner. It's their way of saying "I love you"
Actually, Gotcha says "I love you" as well as "I gotcha" all the time. he knows them both.
I'm gotcha i gotchu
+ThatZommy Hahahaa you've gotta love how they end up training us
Yeah, that sounds like a hook beak bird to me.
"Hey it's the bully drop, control the boy now!"
Lmao I laughed hardly at that moment 😂😂😂😂🤣
