    Shame on Brody's family for trying to blame the train operator...he went above and beyond. Those trains simply cannot stop in the kind of distances where a car is visible...that's a failure of US train technology, not of the operator. I've never heard of a single case where a train going at speed was able to stop safely in these scenarios...automobile drivers need to remember that railroad crossings are the most dangerous intersections on the road, and use caution accordingly.

    I can't imagine what would compel someone to exit their vehicle when they know a train is oncoming...incredible carelessness that not only cost her own life but the lives of several others. You either stay in that car and accelerate forward as hard as you can (possibly damaging the front of the car, as well as the front gate), or you RUN away from that vehicle...possessions mean so little in these situations.

    4:46 Karens? The engineer wasn’t at fault for the collision, because she stopped on the track, and he didn’t have anything to do with that. That’s stupid, waste of money.

    • @penncentral6706
      @penncentral6706  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup. Stupid woman who was worried about the “damage” done by the lowered gate to her precious car and didn’t even budge to clear the tracks.
      Engineer did all he could and could not be at fault. This Karen wasn’t aware of the dangers of playing with RR crossings.. It’s better to have a small dent than have your car wrecked, cause millions in damages, and taking 6 lives with it.

    Those 2 people (the couple) are the ones responsible for the deaths because, not only did they tried to drive through a level crossing while the barriers are down, but also tried to DRIVE THROUGH WHILE THE TRAIN IS LITERALLY 200 FEET AWAY FROM THEM.
    this case and the verdict of it just straight up pisses me off due to the sheer foolishness.

    shouldn't this be something that is taught in driving education - I mean about grade crossings how the look and how they function what safety features they have and what to do or not to do if you get stuck on one? Or is this already too sophisticated for driving ed?

    • @parnikkapore
      @parnikkapore 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did _not_ get taught this in Driver's Ed, for one. Picked up that you really shouldn't run a railroad crossing, but don't know how to get out of being stuck!
