Hi guys, those who are on the latest update 1. Use spark plug spanner 2. When you do up the cam gear you will see a small mark on it, there is one exactly the same on the crank, line those up to sort out the timing 3. It's a 10mm bolt on the engine crane. You have no idea how much I love and appreciate this guide... my memory doesnt allow me to remember little details of things. I have probably seen this about 12 times now, and will always refer back to it. If you could do more for say the wiring, that would be the best!
The camshaft(gear) must be aligned correctly to avoid damaging the engine when starting the car. This can be done by using the 10mm spanner/ratchet after fully tightening the camshaft gear, the gear will rotate after being bolted in. There is a small notched arrow which should be pointing directly towards the crankshaft.
Man I remember first building this car. This game gives me hope. It really does. And this video, calms me down his voice the bolt sounds and just whats in the video, it's calming.
All the way to the right (extended) is too tight, it will snap the belt. 3 ticks left and you get squeaky noise. So yea, basically move it all the way left at first, put the belt on, extend all the way to the right, then 2 clicks left. Then switch to screw-driver and tighten the screw to secure alternator to the rail. Make sure the alternator does not move when you are doing the screw, cause if you facing a certain angle, this CAN occur.
At the T junction take a left, and then as soon as you get the to the 4 way junction take a right. Instantly on the road and it's a little bit of a longer drive but it's all road but it 100% keeps you from dying from the super slippery dirt roads.
just a tip. Put on the undercarriage first so you can roll the car. Then fill the engine bay with essentials like brake servo, brake lines ect. then put in the engine. Putting in the engine so early just makes adding the other stuff a pain in the ass
Finally a good tutorial where the guy knows what he is doing. So many videos of people making a tutorial video, but it's just them figuring it out for 30 minutes. Then you find out they've missed of few parts, and you have to start a new game. lol. Yeah, a year later and I find a decent tutorial video. omfg. You can also take the boat across the lake to the store, it's faster, but you have to carrying everything to the boat. It's North West of the small island that is also North West of your house.
The tutorial is easy to understand, bolt sizes, and detailed information. Thanks for the help! I would definitely recommend this video to a friend of mine that is just starting the game! Thanks again and keep up the good work!

My personal preference is to attach and tighten the brake and clutch lines and master cylinders before I put the engine in. Just makes it a little easier to see all the nuts and bolts without the engine in the way. Just my .02. Also, the best setting for the belt is 2 notches back from fully tight, otherwise it will wear and snap the belt a lot quicker. Awesome tutorial. Very well done.
I was really tired when I was trying to build this car and so halfway through the video I accidentally fell asleep and when I woke up I died due to starvation I didn’t even know that was possible!

Dunno if it was added in a update but around the @1:30 mark you gotta make sure the timing arrows line up on the gears before you put the timing chain on or starting the car will break stuff

Sadian In reality building a car can be a pain of the ass because of the alignment. Nothing snaps in real life, you have to place them by hand and keep it level all the time.
I have watched this video 7 times as a tutorial to my car in the game. I've restarted the game, deleted it and Got it again, but my car will run fine, but I'll shift it into gear, turn off the parking brake, and my car just revs.
Thanks for the awesome instructions - My engine is built, installed, fluids filled...cranks but won't start. Watching your vid I have realized I missed the bolts on the pistons and I didn't notice the 2 in the front on the camshaft. As much as I have to tear down, I think it makes more sense to just build it over from scratch. FML

make sure you put on the inspection cover. It doesn't matter when you put it on, just make sure to unscrew the 4x7mm bolts on the gearbox before you install it

You can put a beer crate under the subframe and use that to mount the engine! No more raising the engine with the crane!

8:35 the alternator needs to be one tick off from all the way out, or the fan belt might snap.

When you have to tighten the screw on the alternator, the alternator moves, but now it's fixed and won't move, so don't worry!

they need to add torque specs for all the engine bolts and if you tighten loosen the head bolts in a certain direction you warp the head

sometimes the driveshafts come lose for some reason and you have to rebolt them
right click the hand brake.

i had the same problem - u have to put every fluid into the car ( i forgot the clutch fluid, and it wouldnt move)

Prob to do with the air fuel ratio. There should be a little screw on the carb. Ajust it with the screwdriver and it should be fine
