Good review of the CT4! Looks like Cadillac finally listened to what people actually want in a car... Cadillac needs to learn how to market their cars better. I just test drove a CT4 (Luxury) and was really surprised at the handling, quiet and responsive. The exhaust note when you aggressively accelerate sounds kinda cheap, very UN-Cadillac! Power is sufficient, besides who needs to go 0 to 60 in 5 seconds just to buy their quart of milk and loaf of bread. As a Luxury car buyer, you want Status, Reliability, Quiet, and just enough Power to get you around town. I'll be looking into buying a Luxury car in about a year, I'm considering the Cadillac CT4... it's a good fit in the Cadillac line of cars. Cadillac needs to be more consistent with their model lineage as in past decades... when you buy a Cadillac, you want it to be around for the next decade or so. They should add a coupe version as well as a cabriolet. Looking forward to more reviews!
I drove the premium luxury with the 2.7 two weeks ago. What a great car! I have a 2013 ATS with the 2.0T, the 2.7 w/10 speed automatic IS the engine this chassis deserves. Smooth & willing to shift, I was concerned about the roots of the 2.7 being a truck engine, but driving it blew away all of my concerns. My plan is to buy one later this year! I do want to drive the V as the premium luxury I drove was definitely oriented toward comfort vs. my ATS, I do love the sharp handling of my ATS, but I did like the ride of the Premium Luxury CT4 - decisions, decisions. My ATS w/18" rim option does not handle potholes well and I'm wondering if the CT4 premium luxury softer suspension will handle the potholes better and not leave me needing to replace tires as often.
Bro, hire an audio engineer. This is an amazing review, made shameful by the shit their audio quality. You could do so much, just get a guy that can allow you to do it.
More Chinese market Cadillacs please!!! So few English reviewers in China and Cadillac China has some unique market exclusives within their lineup. If you ever get your hands on an SLS, would love to see that.
idk what you talking about, the ats looks much better. more unique. now its just like every sedan ever, i remember they used to say they were gonna stick with the diamond like, sharp line design, once again they throw that out of the window with these new headlight design.
I have a 2013 ATS and mechanically, it's not good. Transmission issues, fuel system issues. I'm thinking about selling it. It's my favorite car though. Beautiful inside and out. Just now heard about the CT4. It looks okay but i'm not super impressed with it yet.
Doesn't appear to be derived from any GM trucks, and the interior space is slightly smaller the A-class, due mostly to the lower roof line. Bigger trunk, though.
I test drove a CT4V for 2 weeks and was disappointed because my ATS premium with , limited slip differential, heads up display, magnetic shocks, 335HP ,brembo brakes an 17 inch tires is way better car in my opinion and the styling of the CT4 is terrible compared to the ATS, also the ATS was a fun car to drive compared to the lagging turbo in the CT4V. Also the dash board on the CT4V has a information screen that looks like an over sized cell phone glued to the center of the dash like all the euro sedans and I hate it. We will keep our ATS since its in excellent condition for a 2013 and has 58K miles and runs excellent with zero problems through out the life of the car, except for replacing light bulbs and keeping up with maintenance.
Update: Today we just picked up what for us is our new Cadillac to replace the 2013 one from the above post, anyway, we could not settle for the new CT4 so instead we just bought a newer ATS Premium with the Track pkg. We found a 2017 with 40,000 miles and in mint condition from a 77 year old Woman. Me and the Wife are super happy and will drive it for another 4 or 5 years until they can replace the CT4 with something with style and soul.
I’m sorry. Cadillac should have stuck with Coupe De Villes And Eldorados . My last two were NYS certified Lemons ..both over 50g. ATS and CTS . DEFINITELY made on Friday before 5pm. Luckily I got full refunds.
While the CT4 is larger in terms of exterior dimensions, it's actually slightly smaller on the inside, part of it moving down in size to compete more directly with the A3, A-Class, etc., while making a little more room for the CT5 above it.
Wheelsboy-- First, let me say you have put together a fantastic review here! All around, excellent. Very informative and professionally done. Thank you. Nathan Kelly-- You're right, it is bigger. Has the same wheelbase as the outgoing ATS and larger exterior dimensions. Significantly (in automotive terms) in fact. The trunk gains about .3 cubic feet. Inside, it doesn't really shrink from ATS, but actually gains hip width (fractional, albeit) for rear outboard passengers. It now uses the Alpha 2 structure (still shared with Camaro). So, to say it is smaller (in fact) is a misnomer; it is smaller (in marketing) only in the way it's positioned against ct5 (lesser horsepower, etc.). I own an ATS and am glad I bought this version, and not this essentially "refreshed" one. The rear end does nothing for me (totally subjective, of course) and I prefer more compact exterior dimensions on a car that is within millimetres of being the same on the inside. The ATS, to my eye, has always had a crisp, well-dressed, taut appearance; I don't care for the melted wax candle droop on the rear of this one. I think the former will age better, over time. The handling characteristics are top notch, and are a pleasure even when not pushing through winding, country roads. Trips to the grocery store, and errands around town, are fun. No sacrifice there! The big knock on ATS, and I suspect on CT4, when people see it and drive it in person, are the dimensions. The back seat and trunk are beyond tight. No amount of horsepower (downgraded or upgraded), tech interface or ride quality tweaking, will ever distract a buyer's attention from that. If people don't fit comfortably in their cars, they won't like them, no matter how well they are engineered. I think the correlation between that aspect and "value for your money" can't be underestimated. Especially in this near luxury segment. If Cadillac is honest, CT4 remains, like its predecessor, focussed on being a driver's (singular) car.
I drove new Cadillacs for 3 years. The ATS was pure crap! Even my $70,000 CTS broke down over and over again. At least I didn't suffer like my neighbor with his Escalade. His new SUV was in the shop 52 times in 3 years. With the CT4, I hope GM relearned a critical idea......quality! I wonder if this thing has a spare tire (any type of ). Most of their sedans have had NO type of spare but what do you expect for $70,000. Oh, my new Mazda 6 Signature has everything as my CTS but is $40,000 less.
I give this car hard maybe because that miserable turbocharged lump of iron that is the Silverados base engine...... is considered an upgrade engine in this car
What happend to american cars? I like the front... BUT.. after that.. Sorry Cadillac.. But the company are not listning to rest of the world (EU and Asia).. This car is a normal car.. Nothing special.. The front of the car is the only thing is who is nice.. But rest is booring..
Lmao yeah american cars looks dominating but thats it. Its a good car to own for occasional drive but as a regular car its full of problems and petrol is expensive as shxt american cars sucks at mileage

Had it for 4 months, it's a good car overall with some minor electric glitches.

Shifting feels rough in my 2016 ATS. The car never knows what it wants to do
@@cleanerdetailsllc8481 does it shift better in sport mode?
I think it looks beautiful from every angle love the colour also.

Great review! Very professional!
The cimarron has done well for itself over the years
Can't wait for the ct4v blackwing!!! I believe i will someday own one! Beautiful

Over the air updates is available on the ATS too.

it drifted because of traction control off?
Is the engine truck derived? is it roomier than an A-Class?
Doesn't appear to be derived from any GM trucks, and the interior space is slightly smaller the A-class, due mostly to the lower roof line. Bigger trunk, though.
Flawless. Great job!
They should have retained the 3.6 l v6. Forced induction sucks in my opinion!
Unfortunately all cars are going to forced induction. I've always preferred NA
you're opinion is bad

@@johnwhitneykokalis9990 Hey thanks for the info, I'm in a simalar situation with the a ATS performance trim 2013, its been a blast to own and drive!
I REALLY LIKE THAT BEAUTIFUL car
Needs a coupe model and a bigger touch screen
I love my cts premium and would not change it to a ct4 and neither ct5
CTS was a luxury standard which they lost with ct4 or 5 :(
Ummmm....its the same chassis as the ATS. Some of the glass and panels are still the same. So it's not a smaller replacement. Please do your homework

Sad day in America when the interior of a Cadillac is no better than the interior of a Honda Accord .
It’s in China not America
@@louisbeerreviews8964 The Cadillac CT4 is made in Lansing, Michigan, USA.
Very great perspective from a random you tumba
Spend extra 4k and get the ct5.
So you said its smaller than the ats but its actually 3in longer?
