All the farmers in our rural neighbourhood got together to help each other spread manure back in the day we called it a “bee” so no one complained of the smell. All the wives would help cook for the lady who’s farm was being cleaned out. It was amazing. We had wood cutting bees, Plowing bees, thrashing bees, corn harvesting bees. We just helped out each other. Great memories.🇨🇦

I remember that. Everyone just went from farm to farm on various tasks. It worked great then you had people from the city move in and tried to turn it into a business. That’swhen it went to shit and people started losing their farms.

In all honesty, while I'm def not craving chocolate milk at the moment, this is why I watch your channel over others. You don't shy away from any of the work, not just the dirty but what city folks would wrinkle their nose up and say gross at. I'm here because I love seeing the work that it takes to dairy farm and you show it. Thank you.

While a woman's work is never done around the house - A farmer's work is truly NEVER done on the farm. Thank you for sharing about all the manure challenges - it was interesting to see the ingenuity that goes into solving the challenges, whether it's manure or welding. Thank you for all the effort you put in. God Bless.

Enjoyed this video! I don’t think many of our urban brethren realize how sustainable modern dairy production has become; what with the source of some of the commodities used in feed and the benefits of manure fertilizer. BTW, like you, I learned to stick weld on the farm; the skill came in handy when looking for summer jobs to earn college tuition. Nicely done, Eric!

I want to let you know how much my wife and I enjoy watching your videos. I spent the first 35 years of my life on a small dairy farm in southern Idaho. Just me and my dad milked 50 head twice a day. Compared to our farm, yours is a palace. I wish we had a lot of the equipment that you have. You're an amazing hard working guy and I like seeing how good you work with your dad. Keep up the good work.

@@trythinking6676 Eehh I got used to it sort of. The smell doesnt really bother me. The guys/adults usually eat first because the kids take forever and we go to the ranch earlier than anyone else so its not like were getting "complaints" from the kids saying oh you stink or something like that. But yeah no one likes the smell, at first I wanted to change my work clothes as soon as they stunk like pig crap, now I just got used to it and change the shirts every morning and change the pants every other.

This was one of the best. It shows just how hectic a farmer is who is successful. The manure in that last shed you were in was too thick so it will need hauled in a manure spreader. I can't even think what you would call a tank with liquid manure because it would do the same thing as the old time spreaders.

Like you I would always try and find a way to flat weld something. I wasn't strictly a welder by trade but as an industrial/commercial machine mechanic I was forced to have to do it. Welding is something of an art form and you have to constantly do it to keep your skills up (some of the best welders I've known were also good artist). I absolutely hated overhead stick welding, unfortunately due to the strength and penetration needed sometimes you'd have to use a stick.

Manure management time was a fun time on our farm. It was the only time we got out in our fields with our equipment, rather than the neighbor who we rented out to. We had caged chickens and would set the watering cups to overflow to add water into the pits so that we could pump it out with the "honeywagon". Once it rusted through, then we hired it out and there was no more field work.

Love the channel. A word of caution on the drone video. If you don’t have your drone pilots license Part 107, the FAA can fine you for flying without it for commercial purposes. Keep up the great work
