The presentational split between hilarious and energetic livestream/ gameplay Myelin and calm, smooth voiced lore myelin is a huge leap. One that I enjoyed as a lore viewer turned stream watcher, because you’re hilarious. But it is a pretty big difference. The lore channel was built on the content foundation of quality product (well researched lore explanations/presentations), while the stream/second channel was built on the content foundation of quality entertainment, then info. Seems more balanced to me

I’m borderline casual now, but my branching off is being a dad and working full time 😅. Only good thing is I still have the mechanical skills and knowledge that I’ve developed over the last 10 years lol.

I've been watching your Destiny lore videos since the beginning. Having you and Byf help me understand the lore and seeing how incredible Bungie is at world building was what really got me absolutely hooked on Destiny at the beginning. It's been so wonderful watching you and your channel grow these last 10ish years!

I did the same by taking a break from Jan-April and do not regret it. Been playing Warframe, Helldivers, Remnant 2 and more and it’s been fun tbh. When may hit though it felt like, “Time to suit up again guardian” Glad to see you’re back and excited for future videos!!!

Also a fotnote about Helldivers since it's a big part of this video and you are a lore guy. I found a small channel that does voice acted fan-fiction lore shorts that I think you would enjoy, simply called: Kapono Langit.

Totally agree with you on the point of watching certain streamers that are playing your favourite game, I think it's great to see reactions from streamers experiencing the same thing I experienced, sometimes they uncover something I may have missed and maybe on the off chance, I find something they may have missed and point it out, but yeah the engagment is there and there is discourse to be had and that is why your streams are enjoyable, I recall not just tuning in to your destiny streams but also Elden Ring and it's fun to watch someone else bang there head against a door and finally beat a boss after learning their moveset for example. Anyways, I subcribed to this channel for lore videos as I don't particularly follow it well myself nor do I set aside time to read entries but it is insanely easier when a content creator such as yourself put it all in a coherent manner, provide past context or entries that may be related and give an overall picture on what's happening so purely for the quality and passion and time you put in these videos, I along with quite a few in the comments section will remain subbed for that quality whenever a new video is released! I don't mind the moaning minute videos either 😆 but yeah, quality over quantity is definitely preferred for me and sometimes I am also casual so it's fine to experience other games, either new releases or other titles you have not gotten round to, I regret the amount of time I have spent doing mundane things in the game when I could be playing an extraordinary story-driven game instead. Balance is good and after 10 years oh is it badly needed, I may have to check out the second channel too! Good luck in all the things you choose to pursue!!
Just came back to Destiny after 10 months best week ive had in Destiny for a long time, caught up with friends, looking forward to Final Shape.

I quit playing destiny like it was my job, almost a year ago. I missed a lot but just playing the last 3 weeks of each seasons to finish my season pass and the story was such a better way to play destiny for me this year. i just got back on last sunday the 26th. I haven't watched any of the videos or known stuff about final shape, besides closer to the heart quest but I've never been more hyped for a destiny release and im happy you could break away from the game to experience the feeling of not being tied down to destiny. i also feel now, after aa hiatis how good the gamme feels to play and it really is a wonderful game at the end of the day.

Glad everything is working out for you man! I think if they make a D3 it would be a opportunity to bring in new people, but with that they would have to start doing a completely new game every sage to always have a new boom of players.

Amen brother, I took 2 years off and I'm ready to like destiny again. Also, I like destiny best at the end of season 4 when I've got a large variety of things to rotate between. Also, I really appreciate having long and very long options with 50 wave onslaught and solo coil.

I’ve played Destiny 2 for 3500 hours, on and off since Warmind. Even though I’m not nearly as active as I once was, I can easily say it remains one of the best games I’ve ever played, period. I’m really glad the game seems to have recovered somewhat from what seemed like the end (we’ll see I guess) and I’ll probably be one of those people who casually plays it forever with varying periods of intensity. You’re right, nothing quite compares to it. I don’t have the time to no-life it anymore but I would be really happy if Bungie carved out a fulfilling space for casual D2 players.
Always enjoy your videos. Now I have a whole new channel to go watch so you can teach me something about Helldivers 2.

I'm an aspiring game dev, have a startup and working on a mobile game currently with a small team as our first official project to get our name out there, but if I had money (I wouldn't mind time or people commitment, just money to pay rent and makes ends meet), I would love to devote myself to making a destiny-esque fantasy game with a FPS genre (so instead of shooting guns and swinging swords you'd cast spells and swing swords). I have everything planned out even, I would just need the assurance of rent (though if anyone had skills in art or sumn and was interested I wouldn't say no to the extra help either)
Don’t comment much or at all normally but I enjoy your content. In the end you should do what makes you happy as it will reflect in the content you push out. 💪👍

ive been a casual for a good bit (went a bit degen again lately) and it is great, allows me to enjoy the game much more, as somone who also dabbles in content creation the insights you share are extremely interesting and surprisingly helpful so I have to thank you for that. Some people on the internet are just angy and nothing will ever change that, the people themselves have to fix that if they want and that is that. I came from Division community into destiny community and that is what first told me that the gaming community is pretty much the same across alll the games and again I dont think there is much you can do about it, people hate nerfs and only want buffs, but trust that is not what they actually want. P.S the dead pixels are diving me up the walll ya DAWG!!! (never noticed them before and now I cant unsee them haha) Much love papa!!!

Since i started playing D2 in 2022 (played OG D1) it is my favorite game (no really it is), but I do go off and play other games for a break but nothing HARDCORE like i play D2. this game is so fun to me.

All the things that you said about Destiny being a cut above other games is so true and is the reason I will always come back to it. Destiny will never die
Destiny content is either feast or famine. It goes through it's repetitive seasons that drip feed you more of the story and lore every week. Then comes a drought before the next expansion/DLC or season. It's always been like this. It's consistent. This is good for casual player, but the hardcore players feel the lags harder.
ill try to use just one character and play mainly story+ weekly story and not worrying about getting/doing everything on every character like perfect rolls for weapons, armors hop on another game for the day as soon i start feeling the burn kicking in...lets how that goes, you Opened my Eyes really...

Me and my partner went casual playtime on Destiny 2 (maybe 4 times in the last 3 months) and it was also the best decision we made. Much happier.
Taking breaks from games is extremely underrated. Not for a week, but properly playing other games for 2 months or so. I regained a huge appreciation for Destiny 2 when I came back and even decided to go straight into making a Strand Warlock. At the time I was playing and Strand arrived, I was so spent that I couldn't be bothered figuring Strand out. But after returning it was like I couldn't wait to try anything and everything I had never done before.
This is very true and and of my gripes with the seasonal model. Let me go do other things for long enough to miss the game without fomo. I know that's how you get dead game memes, but I think it's better long term.

Glad to know you're doing well! This is just my opinion, but I'd say keep branching out into new games, you'll always have a place with Destiny. Building a healthy community of gamers/ people to network with sounds like a rewarding breath of fresh air for helping combat the dejected or cynical gamer culture that always has something negative to say 🙂

Modern Warfare 2: DMZ had some badass first person shooter dungeon-like elements. I'm pretty sure Activision could look at the Destiny model and devise something rooted in COD that would be awesome. But it would take executives over there willing to take a chance on changing a formula that clearly already works very well. I haven't tried the zombie mode in MWIII yet, but it looks pretty fun.

I liken it to a music artist. To make the music they want, they have to put out music for the masses. D3 will happen. It’ll be created as they need an entry point for the franchise. Good to see you doing well! Miss your Destiny content!

For years before "Into the light" I was playing for about 3 - 6 hours a week. Sometimes I played the game for 3 hours in one day and that would be all I did that week. Other times I'd play an hour or so 5-6 days out of the week. The exception to this was of course the first 2 weeks of a season and the first month of an expansion. I've never stopped enjoying the game, and I've always felt that the problem people have with the game was burnout or playing for more hours than they should be. I make time for my other games, and I've never been "down" on the state of destiny simply because I've never pushed myself to that point.

And I stopped using Reddit/browsing the destiny subreddit. Noticed participating in the community reduced my enjoyment of the game.
