@@GoldShawFarm wow, was not expecting my comment to appear in a short. Long time viewer i think i started watching around the time toby arrived on the farm. Keep up making entertaining videos!
Randy is so self-possessed, nothing to prove, friendly, playful, and sweet. He may not have gotten the name Ferdinand, but it looks like you got the jackpot on the personality. This is really so much fun!!!
Randy moving in. "Sweet, I got my own room, all the food I could ever want, and a whole herd of ladies. Jackpots." Like he genuinely and looked like he was enjoying himself. 😂
Randy seems very friendly and chill, it was great to get such a calm male from a good line and smart caring breeders. I have pet rats and the breeder does make the difference sometimes. Very happy for you.
Allison interacting with young creatures is just the sweetest. 💕 I bet she shows the same compassion and care for her patients. And to Mach Man Randy Savage, welcome home!
Getting this specific bull is a brilliant addition to your herd. I loved seeing Allison welcoming Randy Macho Man to the farm. How adorable when she said "welcome home" and Randy loving every minute.
Going to the farm over time and getting to know Randy was a really smart move, since he's already familiar with you, and than might lessen the upset of moving to a new home. And since you've already handled him, that will make things much easier.
Do you have a halter for the cows? It would be a good idea to get them used to being led (Randy already knows how) and being tied. Rather than you 'sneaking' in brushing make it a set thing. 1) halter on 2) lead to secure area 3) tie to wall anchor (I use a quick release so I only have to pull the end and it unties) 4) brush, check hooves, touch all over like a vet will need to. Good luck with the new boy!
Awesome vid. Also, as a dog trainer, may I say how much it warmed my heart to see how well you handled Abby trying to play with Randy at the end? You've clearly put in a ton of effort - both in learning about dog training, and in getting to know and build rapport with Abby herself. The fact that you introduced the dogs one at a time, starting with the one most likely to handle the unexpected correctly, was great. But the real treat was seeing how you knew to be on the lookout for certain behavior from Abby, recognized that behavior so quickly (ie, the play bowing towards Randy, which was her attempt to engage him in play), and called her out on it immediately with just the right amount of harshness in your voice for her personally to respond to without it being too much (or too little), was great to see. As was the manner in which she very quickly responded to you with the "I didn't mean to mess up! I'll be good! See? Look at how good I am..." sitting and overall body language (which you promptly - and appropriately - praised, followed by continuing to praise her for giving Randy space). Too many people would have just laughed at how cute Abby's play bowing was, or at how funny it was that she thought she could play with Randy, without realizing the danger that could come of her categorizing a soon-to-be huge, intact male bull as "potential playmate." Too many others would have failed to react quickly enough or in the correct manner. You did everything right. Seriously, great work Morgan. Truly top notch.
Interacting with Randy in front of the rest of your herd will absolutely pave the way in boosting how friendly the rest of your cows/calves are with you, Morgan. They are very smart and will follow Randy’s example.
Look at him, very calmly walking into the enclosure on a halter like a dog!😯 Completely opposite of his name 'Savage' 😁 If this is a harbinger of what's to come, you basically have the perfect bovine in the future. Congratulations Morgan!😊🐮
The difference between how Abby and Toby behaved with Randy mixed with how you approached each of them is fascinating. One of your best videos Appreciate the insight into animal behavior :)
So exciting! He's a handsome little fella. Will make some nice calves! So awesome he is halter broke and not wild. Not too friendly. But not wild! Perfect.
From my farm days a long time ago donot trust a bull. Most bulls are friendly as dogs. However, at anytime a bull can challenge for dominance. It happened when my grand father was brushing his bull in a stall. The bull tried to crush him. He barely escaped by jabbing the bull with his pocket knife. Inanother situation a bull attacked in the open fied. His collie saved his life. In both examples these bulls were like pet dogs. A collie dog would be a good investment.
If you're not a cattle man yet, you will be w some practice. This is the year for learning. I think Toby and Abby will help keep him company. Looks like Randy will be all about being combed every time he sees you. Randy
Congratulations on your new bull. He is so gorgeous and friendly. The previous owners certainly love their animals because it shows in him and his super cool laid-back attitude. I am so pleased for u and now we watch until babies are born.....yay baby Macho men.
You can tell he came from a top notch breeder and home. He's perfect temperament wise. And absolutely beautiful. He was even playing in his pen right away.
I think that Randy's brush is probably better at getting through the thick coats than the one you were using earlier. I hope that he gets along with all the cats, because he's chill enough that we could see cats riding cows! :D
So Proud of you! Love my Molly Murder Mittens t-shirt! My Mollie laughed when she saw it too although Montana mega ranching plus teaching in town and raising 2 babies prevents her from watching videos much. I, on the other hand am retired from farm and ranch so watching you is fun. Like armchair quarterback vibes. Keep up the good work and attitude. ~Montana Fan
Another children's book idea, Morgan! From Joey Ramone's POV. Growing up with Jimi Hendrix as his brother from another mother, pasture bestie (along with all of the next gen, of course). Being sad when his friend leaves to go to another farm, but then a new friend shows up who really likes to get brushed. It could help kids learn about resilience, being open to new, good things, etc.
Morgan. It looks like the introduction period turned out good....so far. That has to be a certain amount of apprehension when you introduce a new animal to the rest of "your crew". But Randy Savage Bull seems like a pretty chill bull. I can't wait as you show his interaction among his breed.
It must be great to have some experienced mentorship with an addition to the farm as big (literally and figuratively) as this guy. You’ve got a cool operation there. It’s something to be proud of, for sure.
Hi.... Morgan and Allison nice to see you both love watching your videos homestead Beautiful cow 🐮, thank you for showing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐣🐥🐩🐩🐈🐄🐝🌱🏡🎥👍👍👍
Welcome Randy, you handsome chill guy! 🥰 He really loves the brushing and some cuddles, this is so sweet! 😍 Seems like he wanted to play with this little white fluffy cow 😂
Welcome Randy! I look forward to many more videos of you. Morgan, did he find the water trough on his own, or did you take him inside and show it to him? He was so funny when his head was covered in hay. Congratulations on your new baby.
Congratulations on getting Randy! Hope everything stays calm and enjoyable for the rest of your time together! :D Our neighbors had 6 large (not tame) bulls to go with their 60 something cows and the general thought was, if we didn't purposely try to bother them, everything would be okay. Some 10 years without incident, worst thing that happened was he charged the largest farm hand - who just drove away on his ATV. Mind you, they were not tame and larger than most small cars. My parents still worried about the bulls, (which is why we never had a bull on our farm) but we all played in the fields often, typically within visual range of the heard and never had any issues.
Randy is adorable and he seems very comfortable in his new environment. The people who bred him clearly did an excellent job and really care about their animals.
For a second, I did think it was cute when Abby initially tried to play with Randy. Obviously this would not work long term. Abby did react immediately to the correction and learned. Randy's fur looks like luxurious hair, I am just a wee bit jealous. Looking forward to his joining the herd in two weeks as Randy looks like he needs some play-enrichment.
Abby play-bowing to the new bull was quite funny to see. At least you get the clear message that she likes him, even if she shouldn't be playing on the job
Ooooh! A baby! He's adorable, and so fluffy and love and I am making stupid noises at Randy being led into the paddock on rope, trotting along beside Farmer Shatney without a moment's hesitation. He so calm, exploring his part of the paddock, and making friends with the ladies, and having a snack - he has a very tranquil energy.
I'm so happy to see the new bull is so friendly.

The music in the beginning was 100% horror movie music. Like a killer clown in an abandoned circus. 😂
She is absolutely right about not letting him in your space all the time. When you get fed up, tell it like you are fed up, they understand.

rats are so cute what color are they
I think you just got another puppy that will weigh 1800 pounds one day! That is the chillest bull I've ever seen. He's adorable
Using the same training techniques will also be great, just like the breeder said.
Allison interacting with young creatures is just the sweetest. 💕 I bet she shows the same compassion and care for her patients. And to Mach Man Randy Savage, welcome home!
I respect her feelings to not like being in front of the camera, but I'm bummed we don't get to see that.
From the smile on that bulls face ,he is a comedienne, very friendly,or loves his job and knows what is headed his way????🇨🇦😄😜
Getting this specific bull is a brilliant addition to your herd. I loved seeing Allison welcoming Randy Macho Man to the farm. How adorable when she said "welcome home" and Randy loving every minute.
Abby trying to play with Randy is so cute! I know it’s not a good idea but jus ther little play bow!! Ugh so adorable!
In Abby's defense, that nose to nose with no hesitation could be misconstrued for wanting to play. She did SO GOOD. YAY ABBY!!! ❤️🎉
Going to the farm over time and getting to know Randy was a really smart move, since he's already familiar with you, and than might lessen the upset of moving to a new home. And since you've already handled him, that will make things much easier.
This is fascinating!!! I love Tobey's bob and weave technique to deal with THE MACHO MAAAAAAAAN

He's so curious and friendly, I can only imagine the friendship him n the pups make. It's going to be fun to watch ☺️
He's a handsome fella that likes to toss hay on his head to amuse himself because that's what kool dudes do. 🐂💕 Congrats !!!!
Such an adorable calf. Both dogs behaved so well with Randy. Can't wait to see his calves.
Me, too. I think if he is able to breed a female in late 2024, we're looking at 2025, for calves.
@@Winterascent I'm thinking late 2023 and a calf in 2024 . He might be old enough in the late fall early winter
@@darleenehartwick9806 Maybe, but I know he doesn't want new calf at certain times of year.

Aww, Allison.
Yeah, and I hope the reverse doesn't happen, where their skittish behavior doesn't rub off on him.
This is such a nice comment :)
I'm so glad that the transition went well and that Abby dog is learning to give randy space. Love that Alison loves him too.
Morgan: "He started eating my pants. It was love." Made me laugh. He seems like a sweet guy and I hope he settles in well!
He looks like a gorgeous and sweet thing. He'll be a good addition to the farm and has a great temperament it seems.

I reckon that he'd even let Allison ride him like the docile beast he is.
Randy is so chill! With you and the dogs! Glad you found such a newbie-friendly bull
it is heartening how well you take advice like boarding up that hole in the barn... most people are defensive.
He’s handsome, chill and sweet all in one. You’re so lucky you got Randy and I’m happy for you!
