I can completely agree with the continuous restoration concept as a good be practice on older aircraft. On my AEST my instruction prior to the most recent annual was “replace anything that the is even the slightest question about” - should have done that earlier- it was an eye-opener but worth it in every aspect. These are incredible aircraft that have no real peer and worth keeping in top condition.
Great Video, Eric. I hope you continue to make content. I bought my Aerostar a few years ago because of your videos. I have always loved the Aerostar, but your great flying videos made me pull the trigger and jump in. I absolutely love my Aerostar!! You are providing an excellent service to the Aerostar community!
KCOE ! Many Aerostars based there-even a couple of turbine Aerostars ! Spent 15 years on the field there-that terminal you were taxiing away from used to be my former employer's location on the field-many many moons ago !
I hope there is a new adventure in your you tube future, something old and cool with round engines. Spartan executive, DGA, stagger wing, or the beach duke turbine conversion. I was going to have you sell my home on Whidbey then buy a Aerostar and get the check out from you, but I’m getting a bit too old I’m afraid. Thanks for sharing, keep your power back and nose up in the turns😮 Steve😊
Eric, I thoroughly enjoyed that busy short IFR flight. Truly, a fabulous little rocketship. Best wishes as you pass this awesome machine on to it's new custodian and restorer. I just love the sound of those big twin Lycomings as they spool up to full-noise on the takeoff roll launching you into the sky at a great rate of knots! ❤ Cheers from David in New Zealand
Phew 🥵 short and busy hop… “11 triple one” deserves an avionics update so as to declutter the cockpit and to ease pilot load … godspeed “11 triple one” Great video and job Eric… you even let us sweat during the icing… what’s your next ride? Another Aerostar or do you go turbine?
So bummed to see that awesome Aerostar leave you. I am glad, however that I was able to finally meet you at the Aerostar Convention in Tucson. I look forward to your next adventures in the next Aerostar! Safe travels
@@AerostarPilot We tried that with the FJ-100 [rear mounted Williams fans] and a slight stretch for air taxi, but Steve Speer screwed the pooch. It would have been the first VLJ.
@@AerostarPilot I came in with deep pocket investor about 7 years before Eclipse. I know some guys who worked on Eclipse as well. Steve wanted retirement money out of the development fund for his intellectual property and my guys said is was an impropriety to do that and we walked. I sat down with his spread sheets and was fresh out of a think tank with certs in cost estimating having worked for McDonnell Douglas on F-18. Anyways it has been bridge under the water for quite some time now. Indeed Eclipse was full of it and their flying coffee can needed a lot of work.

@@jhaedtler Done all that. The alternator whine is bad as well, I filter that out when I edit. We narrowed the problem down to the intercom. It will get fixed when the avionics are replaced by the new owner.

Audio seemed to be quite poor on this video. Capable airplane, good thoughts on continuous renovation MX.
Yeah, sorry about the audio. Filtered out the alternator whine which messed up the voice audio. I think the alternator whine is worse :)
The one like no other is the Aerostar converted to pure jet .
All we need is someone with a lot of money and a passion for the Aerostar to put them back in production along with the jet.

@@gendaminoru3195 timing was bad. They were developing the Jet during the financial crises also when Eclipse Jet was making a bunch of false claims.

I will put the new one in there after it gets back from Aerostar. Watch the next video which is being edited now.

@@gendaminoru3195 no. I have 3 precautionary shut downs. 2 Lyc. And 1 Cont. I have a video coming where I will touch on that subject.
