  • Well here is the under water pike video to follow on from the perch one using circle hooks. In this video i search the local river / creek for pike to target using circle hooks and small live baits. With the added bonus of the underwater camera to film those savage takes and see just how those circle hooks take hold. Its a pike eat pike world out there.

    I just lost a Pike deadbaiting, which snagged up badly after diving in some reeds, 15 minutes with it trapped, but still hooked on the opposite bank, it bit through the line above the trace. In desperation, I walked 1/2 a mile round to the spot, not holding out much hope, because the banks were flooded and I couldn’t get near enough to grab the reeds stems. I put a spinner on and with a 12ft rod, tried snagging the line. After 5 minutes of watching the reeds move and no joy, I caught one of the reeds and desperately tried to grab it, up to my knees in water and deep mud. Just before I gave up, I was pulling the reed and I saw the fish briefly. I tried again to hook my line, but in a pure once in a lifetime fluke, hooked the fish in the mouth, 2ft down and landed the fish. Unbelievably, my line had been bitten through 3 inches from the trace and somehow because the Pike had spun, the trace had managed to keep hold of the reed, just long enough for me to hook it and to remove my tackle. Life is crazy🤣🤣🤣😛♥️♥️♥️🐟🙏

    You deserve my congratulations and the blue thumb. Thanks to your videos I learnt more about the behaviour of pikes underwater. We can always rely on natural baits which are the best sometimes. I also fish pikes with chubs. Chubs are the best kind of fish : strong and energic, the best way to tease with big pikes! I come from north France, french native. Last year in my beloved river named l'Aisne, I catch on of them 99cm (half a inch under the meter), but very fat : 9.2kg (about 20 pounds). The heaviest I ever catch ! Love these underwater videos! Had a 8 pounder deep hooked a couple of months ago, had to get the bolt cutter out. It made me think, what's more important, me catching, or a fish going back unharmed? I've debarbed all my hooks since, I never want a fish to feel that kind of stress again. Kinda like the time you hooked one in the eye, I remember you saying you nearly wanted to give up fishing after that, not a nice feeling. Brilliant method this, will defo be buying a few circle hooks for the box now 👍👍👍

      @@TheMan-it7px I mean if you really want to get down to it. Catching fish with hooks for sport is cruel. But this type of footage you can learn from. You can watch how the bait fish is moving and how the pike reacts to it. This I can take with me as I utilize the swimbait. Especially when we get down to the winter months when the bite is slow and the Pike acts more like a stalker rather than predator.

    • @blkfshrtv4926
      @blkfshrtv4926 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheMan-it7px You are looking at it morally to human beings and not the fish who is also a being. Morality just doesn't extend to human beings. Though we do and place it as a living. When in all actuality we could as shepherds do much more. To include not shackle ourselves with things such as money and sorts. We also probably wouldn't have to worry about fisheries if we didn't create the very problems that we are trying to rectify.
      The wildlife doesn't need our help. What it needs is us to stop polluting the waters. Stop keeping everything. Stop dragging the oceans with miles and miles of net. The earth has been doing this wildlife business for millions and millions of years before us. It will do it millions upon millions of years after us as long as that yellow star we call a sun shines and stays at the the correct distance. It can withstand catastrophic events and still bring back life. But enough about morality because you are just looking at it as inclusive to human beings and I'm looking at as all beings. Because we are not separate.
      Clearly you could see that the fish that he caught did not swallow his bait. I myself do not use live bait and prefer not to, but I will utilize what he has shared as a learning tool for how I fish.

    • @la90gaming19

      The Man it’s not cruel at all, pike hunt and eat live fish. At least with live fish the pike gets something out of it. For example a meal. They don’t get that from your lures. Also lure fishing takes no more skill than live baiting or dead baiting.

    • @la90gaming19
      @la90gaming19 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Man none of my points were debunked. I have had just as much success live baiting as I have lure fishing. They are both relatively easy and i found takes little skill. With pike fishing it’s all about locating the pike. Catching pike is easy. Live baiting is offering the pike its meal in the most natural way for the pike. It is not cruel. Its in their nature to hunt live fish. Theirs nothing immoral about presenting one on a hook for a pike. I’ve nothing against lure fishing I actually enjoy it. I strongly disagree with your claim about a method being cruel. If you don’t agree with it that’s fair enough but you have no right to copy and paste your bullshit comment to everyone who actually enjoyed the content this man provides.

    • @la90gaming19
      @la90gaming19 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Man well I disagree and you don’t really have any right to attack people for enjoying this content. Live baiting will always be a thing whether you like it or not. And i reaffirm lure fishing isn’t any more skillfull than live baiting for pike. Weather conditions impact any method of fishing, some days the pike just won’t be interested and it doesn’t matter if you dangle a big fat live roach in its face or try to imitate an injured fish with a lure. If they don’t want it they won’t take it

    Incredible footage! What a predator. Newbie question. What is a “Jack” pike? I’m in the US, is that a different version than we have or just a local name? Thank you for all of the content.

      Thanks buddy. We just call smaller pike "Jack pike" over here. Like anything smaller than 7lb ish we'd consider a jack pike
