I have an important piece of information. Have you ever heard the theory that links the Arkham games to the lego batman universe? I've seen your video of the chronological order of the lego batman universe long ago, but now I've found this: th-cam.com/users/shortsN2zCfbVbEbU?si=iTqlHTD7TRYueUoe This could be an explanation of why he isn't on DC supervillains
It sounds like Killer Moth needs the "Spot treatment." As in, have a story that treats him like a joke, while also showing how neat his powers are and how he could be a genuine threat. By the end of it, no one will think he's a joke anymore...
I guess that the problem with that is that the Spot has a unique power which, when thought about, could be absolutely terrifying (as shown in Spider-verse), whereas Killer Moth... doesn't. I think to make that work, we'd have to make him anti-Batman but like, *really* anti-Batman. Like, fighting skill, stealth, and technology are all on par or even better than Bruce Wayne. I just don't know how they'd make that work. That being said, #SaveLegoKillerMoth
They have him stalk batman and when he thinks he's replicated most of batman's gadgets enough, he fights batman and fails but comes back now knowing g martial arts or somethjng
@@mikejeffries3333I'm not saying Killer Moth needs needs to be a multiversal threat to be taken seriously, but if he were to outsmart Batman, or leave him in an impossible potion, that could work. Everyone knew Bane was a threat when he broke Batman's back... Moth just needs a moment like that. Really, it depends how a writer treats the character. Moth could have been a respected villain for decades, but writers choose to make him a joke (just like Spot,) but an anti-Batman has a ton of story potential.
@@mikejeffries3333 maybe bring killer moth to a new height by rolling with the anti batman idea. Make him the anti vigilante by saving other villains or setup crimes to observe and adapt to Batman. Like taskmaster in the spiderman game. He’s a threat because he’s a nuisance.
Killer Moth has more lines in LB3. He's in a Mr. Freeze mission on Qward, he's in a Harley Quinn mission in the Hall of Doom. And if you hover over his icon on the character menu, he sings the batman theme song with him instead. He may be in another mission, but I'm pretty sure he's not.
Seriously, Batman learns there is some rich guy with a night creature motive helping out the thugs, making the cops hate him again after barely winning his trust after the riddler affair, which puts him on an investigation of who this new guy is, ending with a cock measuring contest fight with them using all their gadgets against each other
I have to note that the Harvester of Fear set’s Killer Moth minifigure is fantastic and one of my favorite villain minifigs, not even joking, it was a significant part of why I tracked the set down. He actually has a dual-sided head print under the mask, one side with goggles that create the effect for his eyes under the mask, and one with a scared expression where you can see his whole face. It’s great! Plus that mask piece he uses is a completely unique mold which is quite nice. The same set also includes a unique blue beetle minifig and the builds are top notch too, it’s my personal favorite Lego Batman set due only in part to my being a big Killer Moth fan
I always found something indescribably unique about the fact that Killer Moth, a completely random and unthreatening character, was the penultimate villain in the game before facing the Joker in the final level.
Honestly and unironically I love Killer Moth, such an oddball villian that I learned to love via the first lego Batman game funny enough. His role in Teen Titans canon is also one of my favorite versions of him lol.
This is super cool to watch. I’ve been working with some people in the community to bring him to life in the way Lego never did. While UV printing won’t ever be the same as pad printing like Lego it’s still cool to bring such a passion project alive. He’s such a cool but simple figure.
When it comes to LEGO Batman 3 I think Killer Moth was lucky to be apart of the main roster whereas Two Face was nowhere to be seen until being locked behind the Dark Knight DLC, which considering the wildly different popularity of the two I’d say this is a win for the Moth! I’d like to note too that the render you were showing for the LEGO Batman Movie version of his minifigure was actually incorrect, the real life figure does indeed have stripe printing that wraps fully around his legs! Hopefully you like him a just little more now ; )
Honestly, I would love it if killer moth appeared in a serious Batman film as a gag villain. Imagine the next Matt reeves Batman film opening with Batman hunting down this mercenary in the criminal underworld… Only for it to be revealed to be killer moth. (I’d say to clash with the dark, realistic design of the Batman, his costume should look as if he went to a thrift shop, grabbed as many Halloween costume pieces as he could and then threw a bulletproof vest, wings, and a helmet on top of it.) There’s a pre-fight scene but ultimately it ends in a way that foreshadows the actual main villain of the film with killer moth being more of a loving Easter egg/appetizer to showcase what’s to come
I remember one comic where Booster Gold goes back in time and robs a museum to protect the time stream. To cover his tracks, he pretends to be Killer Moth. That causes Killer Moth to get tons of street cred, getting his anti-Batman thing to actually stick, and he actually kills Batman and takes over Gotham. It's amazing
Holy-- you saying his given name reminded me I included him in my high school era Batman fanfic that I was writing. That was so long ago that I don't remember what kind of role I gave him but I loved all the deep cut rogues gallery members and incorporating them. Killer Moth is a character James Gunn needs to adapt in some form in his DCU. I mean he made Peacemaker and Guardians of The Galaxy household names. Keep in mind Peacemaker was a D-Lister and now he has his own Action Figure, TV Show and he is appearing in Mortal Kombat 1.
The best part about this character is that when you think about how even outside of Lego he's treated kinda like dirt, he was far from the only one. And if we live in a world where Kite Man (Hell yeah!) can be memed into a cult favorite character, I think Killer Moth should get that treatment too!
Killer Moth has always been my favorite Batman villain since I discovered him in Lego Batman 1 when I was a child. Thank you for shedding some light to our Moth 🦋
Killer Moth was my favorite Lego Batman character solely because of how little he had. It left so much up for interpretation and if I could own a minifigure I would
I remember reading a comic that was about Moth, and it had an interesting take on the character: Killer Moth doesn't need to be a big-lister, in fact, he shouldn't be, he needs to be a goon for bigger villains like Joker and Riddler, he needs to be a joke, so he can rob the supervillains blind, swipe a wallet from a unconscious henchman, he doesn't need to be a supervillain, he needs to be a rat, and he'll be a damn good rat
I’ve always been interested in this character, so to see him get a lot of love is refreshing. We need more Killer Moth content in DC overall. Lego Batman 4, the Harley Quinn animated series, one of the live action shows, the comics, even that upcoming Amazon Prime animated Batman show, hell put him in one of the Battinson movies! He’s got a great design, schtick, and personality that could translate so well to a non-video game format.

While Killer Moth is treated like crap,I’ll give you one character treated just as bad if not worse:Mad Hatter. Never given a physical minifigure, only found in the store in LB1, treated like a joke in the games he’s in. Basically forgotten about in LDCSV outside of the dlc.
I always thought he was one of the coolest characters in the game, especially considering he was the second-to-last boss battle. I never realised he was such a mystery elsewhere.
I love how you were able to make a almost 20 min video on kind of a niche character since we don’t have too much info on him! Also who would win firefly or killer moth

My first introduction to Batman was through Lego Batman and I immediately fell in love with both Scarecrow and Killer Moth’s design. They both looked so cool and dangerous. Ever since then Scarecrow has been my favorite villain, with Moth following closely behind.
I think the legendary Killer Moth has been referenced in Lego DC Supervillains. One of the gold bricks at Wayne Manor is labelled as "There's a Bat In My house" where one of the goons says that 'boss' is sensitive to light and will go ZAP. It could be referencing Killer Moth since he has based off his persona from Batman and also *temporarily* had a mansion like Bruce Wayne and in the previous Lego instalments, Killer Moth has a weird obsession with lights and from the first game he does get zapped from Joker using his Electrifying hand thing on the lamp post he was attracted to. 14:32
This has the same vibe as me obsessing over the one background character that had, like, 2 lines in an entire show and one piece of merchandise (if even that), and I love it! 😂
It would be cool if they gave him some connection to West Virginia, saying that he was inspired by Mothman. Maybe he was afraid of Mothman the way Bruce Wayne was afraid of bats.
Thought it was just me that had a weird love for killer moth and discovered him from the Lego games. And those games treated him so weirdly that I 1. didn’t even know his whole idea was that he was supposed to be a parallel to Batman, and 2. I either forgot or didn’t even know he was in the third game lol I think he could really work as the next ATSV spot type character. And I’d love to see it.
I'm gonna be a total nerd here and say that comics wise, it appears one of the biggest things holding Killer Moth back is his reputation. In Booster Gold's comic series, when Booster pretends to be him and beats Batman once Killer Moth eventually becomes a very competent guy in the future.
idk why but ever since seeing killer moth in lego batman when i was a toddler he's been my favorite batman villain and i cannot stand with this injustice any longer
Imma glad ny boi is getting recognition. He was one of my favorite characters to play as in the Lego batman video game. I kinda want to make him now that I started making toys.
I was introduced to not only Killer Moth but way more of the Batman universe through the original Lego Batman game. Now through years of comic collecting and more Lego Batman game, I’ve come to love Killer Moth. Wish he had more representation period.
Here’s an idea that I’ve been kicking around for a while: what if Killer Moth had a transformation ability? He could cocoon himself in silk like Spider-Man does to switch to Peter Parker in the LEGO Marvel games, then burst out as Charaxes, giving him some additional abilities such as super strength. It could be a neat way to give him some added utility. That, and I just think that transformation abilities in LEGO games are cool.
sir, you have sent me on a quest that i am as equally unprepared for as you are . First, I should mention that my intro to Killer Moth was the og Lego Batman (on wii). A game that I must shamefully admit, I have beaten on 4 systems. I love that game. Killer moth is a C tier villain in it, but he is definitely there. The more I played this game, the more I realised that his "C tier" made him a more intersting character. Scarecrow, Clayface, hell, even Mad Hatter had a decent story in that game because the focus of each villain's arc was how their limitations allowed Batman and Robin to stop them as well as their "super team". I think his 'canonicity' is as notable as other 'no name' villains that appear in those games, and I think his addition allows that story to alternate between "threats" (like joker, twoface, ridler, etc.) and the mentally ill people he needs to protect the city from (harley, killer moth, mad hatter). This alternation between the 2 groups allow the observer to develope an understanding of batman as a character who is able to both be the cunning detective who can see through the muck to catch a criminal and the human who is hurt by a villain and reacts in an irrational way, but catches the villain through his understanding of their humanity. You did an amzing job demonstrating that killer moth has potential as a villain and can be displayed without the viewer thinking of them as a joke, but for killer moth to break out past the comic book pages, I think he needs to be displayed in the same way we have displayed villains like the green goblin. The character can be both intelligent and an oppisite to batman, as long as you make sure that both his introduction and his capture display him as a competent villain who was only stopped because batman was more competent. Batman villains are hard to depict because of the balance between their mental illness and their objective, but this game does a good job of it because it is willing to make its villains either comedic effigies and important roles. Either way, I think your depiction of both the games and comics he appeared in show both killer moth's unique flavor and his parallels to batman. Thanks for the vid, keep it up.
Hey buddy, good video. I would probably drop the standing and talking greenscreen scanline bit though. It's a bit distracting when I'm just trying to learn about killer moth.
The concept of another rich guy inventing a high tech suit and gadgets to commit crimes in Gotham has really interesting story potential. Imagine if Bruce Wayne realized Killer Moth must be rich too, and began doing detective work to figure out his identity. And then Killer Moth did the same with Batman and it was a race to narrow down who's who. They could even have spoken at wealthy social events befote unknowingly
Fun Fact: In the comics, he actually stopped being a super villain at some point. He lived off of leftover money from bank robberies and stolen paintings that were never found.
It's bizarre how much of Batman's rogues gallery started out just as ridiculous as Killer Moth but they were somehow given the respect they deserved and evolved into deep, serious renditions. Killer Moth has yet to get the same glow up and it's confusing and makes me angry.
Yeah, one side of me really loves the oddball underdog slick, but the other can’t bear the disrespect of him being compared to the likes of Condiment King (No hatred to CK, but KM isn’t that Goofy)
Bruh you flipped like a very deeply hidden switch in my memories when you brought up Killer Moth's alternate costume. I had the DS game and he was included, and I remember always using the alternate costume as a kid because I thought the og looked stupid.

Killer moth is one of my favorite villains and I was so excited when i saw him in the batman
now THIS is what i subbed for deep dives into Lego lore
sir,
you have sent me on a quest that i am as equally unprepared for as you are .
I love the Harvest of Fear Figure so much, I was so hyped when he was released!
Hey buddy, good video. I would probably drop the standing and talking greenscreen scanline bit though. It's a bit distracting when I'm just trying to learn about killer moth.
Maby not watch the video then, just listen to it.People dont have to tend to 1 persons opinions. He can do whatever he wants

Beautiful video.🥰
Killer Moth is my second favorite comics carachter.
I was blanking on him being in beyond gotham until I heard “Oh light bulb!”
I love him, he’s always been my favourite character in the Lego Batman games
I don’t know why but
I just love him
When I was young I thought this character and Fire Fly was the same
The concept of another rich guy inventing a high tech suit and gadgets to commit crimes in Gotham has really interesting story potential. Imagine if Bruce Wayne realized Killer Moth must be rich too, and began doing detective work to figure out his identity. And then Killer Moth did the same with Batman and it was a race to narrow down who's who. They could even have spoken at wealthy social events befote unknowingly
Great video, i would love to see more like it
I loved the video! I've seen a few good lego customs of Killer moth but I wish lego would make a better minifigure of him in the first place
Killer moth needs to be the main antagonist for the next batman movie, he has so much potential
Fun Fact: In the comics, he actually stopped being a super villain at some point. He lived off of leftover money from bank robberies and stolen paintings that were never found.
Cool, watchtower
Honestly didn’t expect that. I just got done listening to their new podcast episode, so this is a welcome surprise.
#SAVELEGOKILLERMOTH
Bro Killer Moth’s design is so fire.
Honestly when i was a kid playing those lego batman games killer moth was always my favorite and i dont know why
Bruh you flipped like a very deeply hidden switch in my memories when you brought up Killer Moth's alternate costume. I had the DS game and he was included, and I remember always using the alternate costume as a kid because I thought the og looked stupid.
Lmao love the watchtower take over
They never go as hard with moth in lego batman as they can. Moth mobile? A cocoon gun? That would be hilarious
