Your lifestyles & life goals have to match or it’s gonna be too much compromising & subsequent resentment. So I don’t understand why the writers would even have a woman like Carrie saying this 🤔
It's normal to think about the path not taken. It is understandable because "Big" held such a strong place in her heart, even when they broke up. So, now that he's no longer an option, she can see their relationship with new eyes and wonder, "What if..."
It's VERY normal. Especially when you're still trying to get over losing your loved one. It was pretty good writing and Miranda was smart just letting her vent without taking an opinion on it.
Big wasn't a big mistake. He was part of her journey to finding herself. He helped her get to the place she is now with Aidan. Everything happens for a reason, everyone who becomes a part of your life has a purpose. Nothing is a mistake, everything is a lesson.
Big was a mistake, but only for Carrie, not in general. The issue was, that Carrie had a complex of inferiority, that a man like Big would never take her seriously, and partially, big was to blame for this, since he treated her as such. So, she spend all her time proving herself, everyone around and, most importantly, big, that she was worth it. Hence, she never gave Aidan, or others, for that matter, a chance and sabotaged each and every budding relationship, which could end up a fairytale. In many ways, we are the same. 'Everything has a season, and a reason' comes to mind. Asking "if Big was a mistake" is clearly an AJLT writers mistake. Carrie needs to acknowledge the beauty of her long, loving relationship with John James (and how it helped both of them to grow), despite the sad way it ended. And ask, "what is it about me now that has changed, that allows me to fully want to commit to a relationship with Aidan, when I wouldn't before?"
Stop shouting kids. I don't think it was a writers mistake. It's actually a very normal and healthy part of the grieving process to self reflect. That man strung her along for 10 years & sabotaged her relationships throughout that time, got married on her with a woman he’d known for 3 months(?) left her at the altar, then left said ex wife of 3 months 1 million dollars in his will AND had her to find out AFTER he died at his HEARING?! Regardless of how he died, he knew he was going to be putting not only her, but Natasha as well, into an uncomfortable and awkward position, which has caused her old insecurities and self doubts that she thought were long gone to resurface. And debatably, the worst part of it all is per usual, she won’t get any answers to her questions because he’s gone. Typical Big fashion, even in death. No wonder she’s all over the place.
This is why this show sucks. Sex and the City was great! Go watch the reruns. Carrie and Big spent SATC going back and forth. It didn't work with Aiden, it didn't work with Berger, it didn't work with Senator Bill Kelly, Alexsander Petrofsky or anyone else she dated. Even Charlotte said Big was Carrie's soulmate. They finally got their happily ever after at the end of the series and spent two movies showing how love conquers all between Carrie and Big. Now this show killed off Big and Carrie is calling him a mistake. This whole show is a mistake! It's undoing everything that was great about SATC. 🤮
Nah...if you rewatch SATC they talk about how you get two great loves and Carrie says hers were Big and Aidan. She had a good marriage to Big in the end, but there were many years leading up to it that were tumultuous for her and so it makes sense at this stage in her life to question if she chose correctly. It doesn't mean her relationship with Big wasn't special. It clearly was.
I think the biggest mistake in the series, the movies and the reboot is now and has always been Carried Bradshaw. The men, and the friends are an extension of her ego.
Her character was interesting at first because she was imperfect but now she became a caricature of herself: her life is all about shopping and looking for a great love because she can't be happy alone. Also she's a very selfish friend"
I actually didn’t mind Big either. Tbh, I thought Big & Carrie made a good match. My least favorite was Jack Burger, he was not sexy at allllllll & too sensitive
This just confirms what we always knew. Carrie has always being selfish, self centered and never knew what she wanted, except the best of both worlds with Big and Aidan going back and forward. My theory is, she choosed Big cause she didn't wanted to end alone, and also knew Aidan will never take her back, but as we know on the second movie, the moment she sees him again, she just jump right in to cheat Big.
I'll say the unpopular thing, Big was a mistake because she had to fight with him over and over for the slightest ounce of love. He played so many games with her but she let him. Aiden didn't play games with her, he just loved her with his whole heart, all his cards on the table. If you have to twist their arm, it ain't love ladies.
Was so shocked when she said that 😂 but then if y'all remember in the first movie when on holiday with the girls in Mexico she did say big was always a bad guy ... She let their wedding get bigger then then big
After she used her endless, colossal grief - more than anyone has ever felt - about Big's death to guilt everyone into oblivion. Remember the glass in the photo frame and the wedding ring in the sink? Absolutely unbelievable.
Big and Carrie, deserves each other. They shouldn’t bring Aiden back for the sake of the viewers even we all think he a really good guy. The fact that Carrie broke his heart and never had chemistry with him… it’s not realistic.
Sorry people...but this new version of the show...so wrong...just so wrong!! The first movie....where Jennifer Hudson was in it...that was the pitch-perfect ending to the story...all this is so woke and just an insult to the viewers..."Big mistake?"...no...he was the best thing you ever had.
If you have lost your husband it's disrespectful and horrible to say it was a mistake.. I only watch these clips to see how horrible it is.. but this is too much, it makes me sick
damn, after Big go all the way across the sea to Paris took Carrie back. and the men die and left her millions, still, Carrie question Big was a Big mistake.
After everything he did to her? YES! He was always a mistake but she got so use to it that it was hard to say goodbye. Carrie is not my favorite for Aidan was the best that could happen to her.
I cant believe after all these years, she’s a grown up woman in her 50s & still she’s having the same convo as she was 30 years old. And its even worse Miranda “supporting” this when in the show Miranda was the one who kept Carrie down to earth! Saying Big was a mistake just makes her look even worse when she caused a lot of pain to Natasha & Aidan for Big! Like Aidan said to her the second time he broke up with her:” I can’t believe I’m back here again”. 😒 Get your you ducks in a row, Missy & be accountable for your decisions.
If she married Aiden originally, they’d be the ones sick of each other by now. He would’ve been off across the world kissing some other ex-girlfriend in the second movie. This show is ick.
I wonder if they didn’t put that in there due to allegations against Chris Noth and all of them did side with the alleged victims. Just food for thought.
I’m actually glad they addressed this. Big had his issues and Aidan would have been a much better partner. It’s interesting how Carrie now rethinks this now that Big is dead
C is a deeply flawed person; she desperately wanted to be in love and couldnt live life being single; she convinced herself that B was the love of her life
She couldn't get Big out of her system back then. Aiden deserved more. She'd have ruined him if she didn't go the way she did with the Russian and then onto Big. There's no going backward.
This is what happens when you sleep around. Our emotions get involved, and instead of picking someone, making a commitment based on shared values and attraction and love… you have feelings for multiple men and you don’t know what to do. And the years have passed. Big is gone, she didn’t have kids because he didn’t want to, while Aidan did - and had a family with another woman he married…and they end up breaking up AGAIN because his kids come first, as they should, and they’re not her kids, so she’s alone again.
Why did they have to ruin the series and movies?? These characters aren't even the same as in the past. They were all so beautiful, why did they change themselves. So sad and disappointing. Poor Big.
I guess the writers decided to go with public oppinon finally, ince all are saying how big of a mistake was mr BIG, but is a little too late for the character of Aiden, not to memtion Carrie would have asked the same with Aiden

IT'S CARRIE BRADSHAW.
Her character was interesting at first because she was imperfect but now she became a caricature of herself: her life is all about shopping and looking for a great love because she can't be happy alone. Also she's a very selfish friend"
Carrie can’t answer herself that, because at the time you just do what you do
I don't understand why everybody hates Big... he was my favorite character 😂
I actually didn’t mind Big either. Tbh, I thought Big & Carrie made a good match. My least favorite was Jack Burger, he was not sexy at allllllll & too sensitive
Burger was the woooorst 😂 @@chimereballard9609
Me too I loved big! To see Carrie saying this is outrageous
Run Aidan!!!!!😣
I think they should not have Carrie ask , If BIG was a mistake.. after all she been with he and going through things... ( Why ask NOW ? )
And now that he died, she is alone
We?
No, she was obviously always so much more intersted in Big. Even to the extent that she cheated on Aidan.
No Carrie, Aiden deserves better!
Was so shocked when she said that 😂 but then if y'all remember in the first movie when on holiday with the girls in Mexico she did say big was always a bad guy ... She let their wedding get bigger then then big
All the time she was with aidan, she wanted big. The writers suck, I don't even want to watch.
Big was the most important character of the show. If Big hadn’t died; there’d not be And Just Like That.
"It wasn't logic, it was love"
- Carrie on Big -
Trash talking Big when he's six feet under...classy.
I mean Miranda did try to tell her multiple times to leave big alone and she wouldn’t listen so🤷🏽♀️
Miranda looks like she's thinking "Oh no, not this AGAIN!"
If you have lost your husband it's disrespectful and horrible to say it was a mistake.. I only watch these clips to see how horrible it is.. but this is too much, it makes me sick
I also haven't watched AJLT and I dare not😂
damn, after Big go all the way across the sea to Paris took Carrie back. and the men die and left her millions, still, Carrie question Big was a Big mistake.
How emotionally draining it would be to have a friend like Carrie.. it’s always something with her
Is Miranda legit telling Carrie that SHE is moving to fast ???? Hahahahahaha oh the Irony
After everything he did to her? YES! He was always a mistake but she got so use to it that it was hard to say goodbye. Carrie is not my favorite for Aidan was the best that could happen to her.
Sjp just wants to detach herself from Chris Noth all together after the allegations, and this was the way to do it.
Big was not great. He humiliated her again and again.
This is why I have not tuned in to this show. Why would big be a big mistake... Why not just show him the respect the relationship deserves.
If she married Aiden originally, they’d be the ones sick of each other by now. He would’ve been off across the world kissing some other ex-girlfriend in the second movie. This show is ick.
It's been thirty years and she still can't figure it out.
I wonder if they didn’t put that in there due to allegations against Chris Noth and all of them did side with the alleged victims. Just food for thought.
So in her 50s she figured out the thing that was clear in her 30s.
She would never ever say this! Ever. It's not Carrie she would still be with at least men that are exactly like Big
I’m actually glad they addressed this. Big had his issues and Aidan would have been a much better partner. It’s interesting how Carrie now rethinks this now that Big is dead
Why I cannot stand this re boot!! Now she wants to blame Big for everything!! Poor guy can’t even defend himself!! 😭😭
Big was never a mistake.
If Carrie was going to ask that she should have asked Charlotte, not the bitter shrew that Miranda is
And just like that, I stopped watching this and stopped liking Carrie.
i think the problem with AJLT is that the stories of these women aren’t meant for a 50min episode show
No, it's just very badly written
C is a deeply flawed person; she desperately wanted to be in love and couldnt live life being single; she convinced herself that B was the love of her life
She couldn't get Big out of her system back then. Aiden deserved more. She'd have ruined him if she didn't go the way she did with the Russian and then onto Big. There's no going backward.
Both, Miranda and Carrie aré selfish persons. No doubts.
The slowest walkers in NYC😂
Why did they have to ruin the series and movies?? These characters aren't even the same as in the past. They were all so beautiful, why did they change themselves. So sad and disappointing. Poor Big.
I guess the writers decided to go with public oppinon finally, ince all are saying how big of a mistake was mr BIG, but is a little too late for the character of Aiden, not to memtion Carrie would have asked the same with Aiden
The makeup artist on this show needs to be fired. How awful.
This is nonsense.
So much trara to get him and they were crazy about each other and then such a question?!?
aidan really is the type to hang around for 84 years then swoop back in
the simpetry is off the charts. sad.
I love Miranda's hair red!
Oh my. Just wow. Was Big a big mistake??? Seriously?
So sad see Carrie in this character, rather she be a inspiration for women instead of this weak character....we need strong women too look to!!
