I really hope Kakko thrives in Seattle. Although he never really got into a groove in NY, he played with heart and amid this slump we’ve been in, he’s one of the few guys who seems like he was still giving it his all most shifts.
@ plus the 4th line and 3rd pair guys; Edstrom, Carrick, Vesey and Mancini, the ones who need to give it their all to stay in the show are the only ones who seem effective. While the expensive 1st line guys seem to be set on cruise control
Hey HG! The last guy to take a puck to the throat was Dylan Holloway (STL). He did have some breathing problems after being hit, but it was because the puck compressed his vagus nerve & prevented him from taking deep breaths-so he was basically hyperventilating while playing hockey. Which is bad. If they took Faber to the hospital, then they were probably concerned about muscle swelling constricting his windpipe, or maybe damage to his windpipe directly. If there’s bruising/swelling near the windpipe, then they’ll probably want to wait for the swelling to go down before they try to make a definitive diagnosis of the extent of the injury. So they’ll probably monitor him for a few days until the swelling goes down, and he definitely won’t be sleeping on a flat mattress for a while now. They’ll want to prevent gravity from causing unnecessary complications, so I predict he’ll be sleeping on a wedge pillow at the very least.
Drury is finding out he cannot treat the players the way he is without it affecting them. He is creating an us against them atmosphere in the locker room when it should be we are all in this together.
Was certain when i saw the Faber incident it was bad. Was pretty clear he wasn't cut but he rushed off the ice in a similar scary way to Richard Zednik when his neck got cut by a skate. Hope he's okay.
Not necessarily the throat (I haven't seen a clear image of what happened), but Vitek Vanecek is missing the next couple of weeks because he took a puck to the head while on the bench.
The Nashville Preds should have went into full blown rebuild a couple of years ago. As much as that point streak that we went on last season was so much fun to watch, I feel like it was probably was the worst thing that could have happened.
Surprisingly, they could have a fair amount of cap space next offseason. Not even counting that Nyquist is making over $3m, and if they want to get younger might need to let him walk.
I think a rebuild right after this off season is hopeless and futile. They have the players to succeed, offense defense and goalie. If they can get the new guys to play well together, and find some consistence in the bottom 6, and put the puck in the damn net theyd be a top 8 team in the league, but it aint working. I think a new coach would be a better thing to try before rebuilding the franchise. 2 or 3 more years before "rebuild" should be on the table
I understand where Trotz is coming from. Tearing it all down is hard with some of those contracts. And they still have Saros. Josi is still elite, Forsberg is a year removed from 48 goals. Stamkos and Marchessault may bounce back but nobody is taking those contracts without NSH adding. Trotz should try to get a guy like Cozens who has proven success in the NHL but maybe needs a change of scenery.
THG did a video recently about endless rebuilds, and it's no wonder some of these overdue teams (Pittsburgh) keep on stretching it for one more year then one more and one more.
Regarding Pucks in the throat. there was a guy a few weeks ago that took one and then a few minutes later the game stopped and he had to be taken off on strecher...If my memory is correct.
Trotz is such a good head coach, how the hell is he screwing up being a GM this bad?? The contract he signed were guys that do not fit the Preds' style of play. Trading out a good defenseman for Justin Barron, horrible deal right there. This team needs a GM who's willing to go into a rebuild, not keep adding guys to try and force a competitive team. No clue what Trotz is thinking keeping this team competitive with next to no future but hey at least that's one less team for Montreal's dynasty to worry about for the next decade.
Chris Drury reminds me of the TEG story a few weeks ago, about the boss that'd fire people for saying something and/or looking at him when he's busy yelling
Thanks for the video! Sabes and Rangers both a mess, look elsewhere for playoff teams. Oilers still in picture. Ovechkin shouldn't rush back. "Cap flex and adding in the off season" is a rebuild by another name. We'll see if Kakko plays versus the Blackhawks. Is the ice cracking under the Leafs? Rough break for Faber.
Hockey Guy..I have that hat!!!! Rangers r in such a sad freefall, dont see it stopin soon..Not coaches fault it hurts.....Best coach in NHL..Torts!!! Luv flyers r slowly commin around!!!..
Why why do the wild have to have so many injuries...they just got 2 back. I belive that 13 ofcthe teams roster have or are injured for several games. This is your fault Shannon!!
As a predators fan. We buy stamkos shjei marshesault and we’re paying them big contracts. I look as it. They can be leaders still even though there old we have some good young talent. Then we have 3 first round draft picks which we can use to get some talent if we get hagens that would be our future. There is no reason to trade Stamkos and the players we bought because they have such good contracts and also they have kids which Nashville is a great place to raise a family.
as a longtime predsfan, i disagree. they may have close matches...like shannon talks about regarding preds and hawks, but they are to old, to slow. yes the optimism was there, me included as alot of others, after this offseason with the additions and their surge last season. also very close to win that series against canucks, (sure 4-2 but the games will tell a diffrent story). anyway. this roster cant get it done. bottom line. retool, fine, he said that like 1 year ago aswell. i dont think nyquist will be a pred next year. not very bold statement tho since he is UFA.
@@m00rtin4 I don’t really understand how everybody can keep saying the roster is too old when half the guys on the ice are from the Ads at this point lol. Also are we really going to act like the vibe hasn’t been different lately? I’m not even saying we are playoff bound this season, I’m just saying everything seems to have clicked a lot better lately - finally.
@@Gnashadelphia i can agree that there have been somewhat better poise or urgency the last week or so. stamkos looks to skate harder for example. he looked so lost for like 2 months. so yes, i can see that. it also felt that josi going down "helped" for some players. alot of the offense is around josi and to rely so hard on him is inneffective in the long run. but yeah, the chemistry seems to show more glimpses of relevancy now. like the game against dallas and overall, they played better than the avs, but when they cant score....it dosent help. i hope they trade novak and get a grinder type player instead.
As a old old old hockey guy from Chicago,I had illusions of grandeur for Nashville, even though I dont like the preds, especially after ,several years back there were more Blackhawks fans in the stands then preds fans,so the preds made people buy tickets for two games,I never thought the preds would beat the hawks in their prime, but I sure remember you stadium filled with black hawks sweaters, and that a Fact!SORRY!
Wow the first time I have seen you cynical Shannon - although I bet your remark on Drury matches his actions. If Nashville believes they can reset with their present GM then good luck to them. A reset or rebuild needs to start with getting rid of the GM and coach. Murray will be the number 1 goalie by the end of the year.
I really hope Kakko thrives in Seattle. Although he never really got into a groove in NY, he played with heart and amid this slump we’ve been in, he’s one of the few guys who seems like he was still giving it his all most shifts.
Alongside Chytil, Cuylle, and maybe laf. These are the only players that actually played like they care.
@ plus the 4th line and 3rd pair guys; Edstrom, Carrick, Vesey and Mancini, the ones who need to give it their all to stay in the show are the only ones who seem effective. While the expensive 1st line guys seem to be set on cruise control
I hope he breaks 30 goals this year or next just to make Rangers management look stupid :)
Kakko is going to be a Ranger Killer, just like all of the previous high draft picks we never developed properly. It's in the NYR DNA
Trade NYR for SJ, breaking news

thought the same thing.

Good luck to Kakko, worst of luck to drury.
Always love to see Matt Murray get another chance.
Getting traded while being in the sauna is the most Finnish thing I have heard today!
Drury is finding out he cannot treat the players the way he is without it affecting them. He is creating an us against them atmosphere in the locker room when it should be we are all in this together.
Leafs are a perfect set up for the Sabres to end their streak😄😄
I've never had an open door meeting.
maybe once or twice on zoom
Did you watch the most recent Steve Dangle Podcast?
I’ve never seen meetings where the door was slightly ajar, either.
Was certain when i saw the Faber incident it was bad. Was pretty clear he wasn't cut but he rushed off the ice in a similar scary way to Richard Zednik when his neck got cut by a skate. Hope he's okay.
Hey Shannon. Chris Drury just called me, said he didn’t like what you were saying about him and that you’ve been traded to Buffalo.
Don't rush it Ovi.
Not necessarily the throat (I haven't seen a clear image of what happened), but Vitek Vanecek is missing the next couple of weeks because he took a puck to the head while on the bench.
Nashville or any other team can get back in it. We have played less than half a season folks. 3 weeks ago everyone thought the Rangers were Gold.
The Nashville Preds should have went into full blown rebuild a couple of years ago. As much as that point streak that we went on last season was so much fun to watch, I feel like it was probably was the worst thing that could have happened.

Yep. What a disaster

The biggest change for Nashville this season actually has been new assistant coaches. That's the more important new element. Not working.

The capitals turning it around like they did will make teams starting to think about rebuilding, even more cautious.
I was in sauna when this video was uploaded so i wasnt first here
Drury held out against the Avs I think in his 3rd year. Lacroix had none of it and traded him.
I think the right moves could fix Nashville, the question is how hard those moves are to make.
Regarding Pucks in the throat. there was a guy a few weeks ago that took one and then a few minutes later the game stopped and he had to be taken off on strecher...If my memory is correct.
I believe it was Blues Dylan Holloway, he took a puck to throat finished his shift then was hauled off in stretcher to hospital
Yep, Dylan Holloway on the Blues
"We are resetting, not rebuilding." Yeah. Because you literally can't afford to rebuild since you spent 50 million on one dude.
Drury is an adult child at this point.
Happy for Ovi watch to continue.
I wonder who started the Rangers meeting since they traded their Captain.
😃
My guess is Shesterkin so he can get some support in front of him!

Hockey guy, I fucking love u, ur the goat
Maybe the next venerable chant within MSG should be “Drury Sucks”
Can Nashville bring back the navy/silver combo please? Those jerseys were so good.
If you have Saros playing like he is you try and add scoring and see if that does it
Kakkos gonna explode in Seattle. Hes gonna pick up 20-25 by the end of the season
Alec Martinez took a puck to the throat a week or so ago. He's not back yet, although he is skating.
Hockey Guy..I have that hat!!!! Rangers r in such a sad freefall, dont see it stopin soon..Not coaches fault it hurts.....Best coach in NHL..Torts!!! Luv flyers r slowly commin around!!!..
so are any of the new three on the block for the preds?
Not at those prices. Nashville would have to eat a whole lot to dump any of the new guns
1:30 that's hilarious
losing greenway is a bigger issue than dahlin, just look at our line combos... not ideal.
1:33 😂😂🤣🤣
Let's go Ovie!!!!!!

I still think Preds biggest subtraction this season was trading Askarov. Goalie prosoects of that level just don't grow on trees.
Trotz had been eyeing Annunen for a couple years apparently
With the Saros contract, he wasn't going to be the starter anytime soon. Better for him to go elsewhere.
Hard to see it as a big loss when they have Saros for 6 or 7 good years and the guy was begging to get more time
It made sense in terms of what they were trying to do: Win right now and to hell with the future. They only messed up step 1.
Nashville should not be rebuilding. Calgary had some similar issues. Retool, retool, retool
Perhaps rebuilding or resetting, but most of all revolting...
Calling it now, if Murray starts against the Sabre's he shuts them out.
Schenn back to Vancouver plz😊
Fire Lou
How many tens of thousands have you spent on NHL merchandise?
The predators have too much talent to be this bad. You have to think they come around.... at SOME point?
Drury is goin get tarred and feathered and run outta town on a rail ... Or Kakko was the WHOLE problem and he's a super genius ... * the former
I saw Hockey Psychology's recent video on the Rangers and why they're awful. I recommend it to anyone interested.
I saw it
That channel is all about drama and saying obvious crap to feed conformation bias to people. Nothing people like more then being told they are right.
it was a good video. good recommendation, approved
I would start a cardboard cutout vs Beefalo, save Murray for the playoffs 😉
Dahlin is back now so thats a positive for Buffalo.
Pittsburgh isn't in the hunt. They are 14-14-5 and right in the middle of the league. The absolute worst place to be.
1 point back of the 2nd eastern conference wild card spot mid-way through the season is absolutely in the hunt.
They're in the land of false hope. Next year they'll be a year older again.

There are degrees of fractured bones. Obviously wasn't a full break
It would be so hilarious if Preds finishes below us in the standings by the end of the year after adding big guns like Stamkos, Marchessault, Skeji
Not really cause they would be added a top prospect to a veteran core maybe that takes them back to the top
Yeah, everyone thought they were Cup contenders when they signed those names, especially Stamkos and Marchessault.
