Hope you guys know what you’re getting into. One of my first jobs was gophering for J C Agajanian. He would “encourage us young boys “ to work on the cars that we were qualified to work on. I worked my way up to 1/4 midgets , The one I had was number 98 it had the big Offenhauser and. Well it scared the shit out of me the first time they told me to move it. We were in the middle pits at Culver City I dropped it in gear gave it a little gas let the clutch in and just like that I was almost to the back exit. That had of been 1/2 mile or more. That was back when I was 16 in 1956. Since then i have worked on engine’s up to 4700 horsepower. Now I’m 80 and one of “ The Old Coots “ we surf the Web looking mechanical repair jobs that take a lot of effort and brains to complete. Then one of the old coots will send you an email telling you that you’ve made it to the top of the world. Hang tuff.
I'm really hopeful for this Havasu race, it potentially gives my older car a future as "the asphalt car". Glad to see that Tater (and Phil's Tots) are recovering.
