We are glad to introduce you to our version of the classic Bowers Fly Baby! This beautiful airplane flew for the first time in 1962 becoming the winner of the Experimental Aircraft Association's design competition. It was designed to be constructed in a garage, using only basic hand tools, by a person of average "home handyman" skills.
In our 3D printed RC version we have tried to maintain that spirit of the original design. The most significant concept is the use of fishing lines to reinforce the wing and landing gear. These cables provide a nice scale look to the airplane whilst providing enough structural strength without the use of expensive carbon fiber tubes. The wing is also detachable.
The moderate size of the airplane, in combination with "vase mode" design philosophy, will allow you to print it really fast and with an outstanding outer surface quality; even with very cheap printers! - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

like expected another amzing looking plane! Im just building my first Plane from eclipson (Cobra) and the maiden is coming soon. Already while building I noticed the great attention for detail. Keep up the great work!

Well I purchased the xl model going together great , opted for full pla build with bigger motor highly recommended , think I’ll have a go at this very soon

but I noticed a long hole in the wing for a say carbon fiber tube? is this possible? thanks mike
The wing is for the servo cables. No need of CF tubes for this one since it is reinforced with the fishing lines.
Would it be lighter to combine old and new methods, so use 3D printed ribs to replace wood, but still use the wrapping to keep the weight down?
Yes, but the extra workload and extra price will not probably justify the weight reduction. LW-PLA planes already have adequate wing loading. In fact there are already few planes using that method, and they are not so popular. Search Kraga

Thanks. No, for this one is highly recommendable the use of foaming filaments in order to have a good flying experience.
