If your key has a soldered battery not a removable one I emailed the company and they said to desolder the battery and it should work the same the remove battery is to make sure nobody takes the fob and the car
Honestly the old school stuff is part of the charm of this older cars...
Imagine someone watching this video, breaking into your car, finding the box with the original FOB, and driving away.
once everything is wired up you can’t just plug in the old keyfob to start, it prioritizes the new one so you’d have to go through the entire car, undo all the wiring and then start up

Would like to see what the idle draw is on the system, a lot of the battery drains I've found was add ons like this
They are selling expensive i installed this kit in my E60 in 2018 , that time i got it for $420 now this kit is about $320 with all options included like 4G LTE , NFC.

you can purchase from multiple sites, but quality and customer service may differ. this kit came with all instructions included as well

So the can bus connectors was causing my car to not respond once the car took a few minutes away it wouldn’t respond to anything so I wired up to the rear view mirror just like the video did just pay attention he does say something confusing about what wire taps into what wire but if you think about it I think he said orange to orange with brown line on the cable and then accidentally he said orange to green or something like that just think about it and you’ll get what he is trying to say lmk if you don’t get what he is trying to tell you
Btw I think I had to extend those cables and yes I removed the adapter from the crimp part I just chopped it off you could recrimp a extended cable but I just tied them up taped them and sent it
I wired my canbus up to the rear view and didn’t wire my 12v that they tell you to splice the seat power wire that connects to the connectors at the bottom I did that but that’s what was causing the system to not work once the car slept
So instead of wiring to that cable extend the cable with some of that gauge wire and extend it all the way to the battery in the back and tap straight into the battery if you experience battery dying because of this main reason could be that the battery isn’t AGM OEM my AGM battery could handle so much power when the car is off I listen to music for hours without the car telling me it’s going to die
Old aftermarket battery’s after 30 minutes it’s saying to charge battery 😭

What should I do if the battery in my key runs out? The HU101 key blade can be inserted into this type of key, but not the HU92, which is required for the E90. Can you please advise me on how to solve this problem?

@@julsijules yes but I believe you have to flip a switch on the box but contact the vendor they’ll help you out with these type of questions

correct! my BMW didn’t have comfort access before, this kit enables it to
e90 sedan power seats not staying awake after 30ish minutes car dies but soon as you open the door with physical key its like nothing happened
if you have tapped into the power seats power wire instead just extend the wire all the way to the rear right air bag and up against the frame run the wire through there itll be a very small gap
do it in reverse order sorry i forgot its easier to run that cable through the rear trunk hole then it is to run it throught the crack down to battery
i ran my cable from the center console to the middle of driver seat where the little carpet flap uncrew the speaker to run it under carper under the door seal trim youll need to remove it then run it under the trim of the door frame you dont need to remove that plastic trim then remove back seat and the door seals in the rear and run it all the way to the other door seal trim and run it up to the airbag trim and run it through that frame crack to the battery remove the battery liner to hide the cables nicely.
I have an e91, with the diversity antenna issue (broken wiring in between hatch and roof) so the fob does not work remotely
Does this kit bypass the original antenna and use its own for all functions? Or does it still need to communicate with the factory antenna?
It would be nice to remotely lock and unlock the car again

2006 325i e90 power seats. For can-bus do I have to unplug anything on the yellow connector or just plug the bav mods connector right into the yellow one🎉

I have a bunch of questions but what I'll start off with is does this work on a E60 with the key fob not having the removable battery? I have a 2008 LCI BMW 528i, very interested in this product!!
@@twinturbobeamer2407 as long as your E60 has the keyfob slot and push start button, it will work. you can de-solder the battery inside your keyfob for enhance security reasons but even with the battery inside it’ll work. It’s recommended to remove the battery in worst case scenario a master BMW tech who knows everything on the vehicle can’t undo all of the wiring to this upgrade kit and then steal your car, but that’s highly unlikely haha

@twinturbobeamer2407 with the keyfob, connectivity is great! If I press unlock there’s a slightly longer delay than the factory one but it’s so slight it doesn’t even matter- we’re talking like 0.4 of a second, but getting all these new features is way worth it.
the app delay I’d say depends on how far you are. I’ve started my car from whole other cities and the delay is maybe 3-5 seconds. If the car is eye-sight away and I press unlock usually 2-4 seconds. I’ve never really timed it but considering my car can now unlock, start and be tracked worldwide, the wait didn’t matter for me haha
update: I just timed it. I’m wrong, it was actually quicker. I pressed the unlock button on the app and the door unlocked within 1.5-2 seconds

Anyone getting the sos light on the dashboard and the speakers radio and reverse drive not working I tried to reset car and I just can’t make it make sense I’ll look into the wiring tmmr again but I don’t know I feel like it’s maybe the canbus harness I feel like that could be it but let me know if anyone knows what it could be
EDIT HERES THE FIX 😅,
You have a cable disconnected for me it was the left hand sensor that connects to the plastic you drop where the grey module sits on don’t know what the sensor is but it has something to do with the sound system, reverse sense or sound, and radio.
I have power seats but just wired mine to the dome light like the video did because it hides more cables better.
I bought this but it draining my battery every night, I have it connected to 12v battery in trunk, can you help is this happening to your car?

@@matthewjaysuarez2252 honestly he explained it pretty well only 1 part that confused me was when he said something about orange cable to orange cable aside from that everything is pretty self explanatory all the cables tell you what to tap into just looks complicated but it’s really not just a tedious job took me about 5 hours to do
Probably if you have wire strippers it’ll be with 3-4 hours I just had to take my time removing and tucking cables if you don’t tuck cables you going to look like a crack head you’d never know on my car that anything is connected
Just had a remote start kit installed, and I’m buzzing about how much the key fob distance has increased. I’m trying to get my head around the other features that weren’t mentioned. I've noticed that when I remote start my car, I can’t turn it off with the start button-it only shuts off with the remote. Is there a safety feature I’m missing?
My bad, I forgot to connect the start button 😄 🤣.

@IzzyE9X I bought the bavmod kit that you reviewed. I later came to realize I forgot to connect the start button harness that's why it only worked with the key start function and not the physical start button.

The 12volt supply under the seats is the red wire? So basically red to red?
I just installed this kit and about 30 minutes of being away from my car, its like the battery dies. I have to break into my car, unplug the battery and plug it back in. It's like it's drawing too much power so the car disables itself. Do you know how to fix this?
It shouldn’t be drawing power. did you install the negative ground, where did you plug the positive cable to?
@@IzzyE9X i was working with Bavmods and i figured out that the red that I wired into for the power cable under the seat was on the seat side of the harness, instead of the vehicle side of the harness. There must be a switch to prevent the other side of the harness to drain constant power. Switched it over to the other side and it works flawlessly. Just incase anyone has the same issue! @@leonelflores1159 it will work even with the battery attached. the point of removing the battery is in case a thief knows how to work on BMW’s, they can’t unplug everything and pop your key in the ignition and drive away. removing the battery eliminates chance of theft
Cool. a lot of work and maybe not worth the price. But I can see this as a cool DYI job to do in an old E chasisif you don't care doing this to your car. Some of those wires look janky AF lmao
you can extend them out and make them thicker. I took some extra copper wiring I bought and reinforced it all

but damn, the way it works could not be worse. putting your key into that box, having visible stuff everywhere and tons of wires. it‘s the opposite of what i call clean and i would never do that to my car. and all that for 500.-? nah man, even if i‘d pay that price just for remote starting my car, i‘d never want to do it this way.

These types of key FOBs are really dumb. Yea, it looks nice. But, now I can steal your car. Having the driver put an actual FOB in the car to start it prevents Relay Attacks. If you want the added window commands, just use NCS Expert and code that shit on.
the new KeyFob is disabled even if you insert it into the ignition so the vehicle can’t just be started. also, you can hide away the KeyFob box
these cars already had comofort access from factory, never put mine into the ignition in the last 6 years
