Awesome edit! I love stop motion and splicing. this was a treat. Can you explain or point me in the direction of someones explanation for or against having splices on two ends of a rope. I've been told not to because double braid shares strength between core at cover and the rope isn't able to sweat.
Thank you! People usually caution against it due to the cover sweating on a new rope. The way to go if you want two splices is to splice only one end and climb on it for a month, by then the cover will sweat about as far as it will in its lifetime and you can then splice the other side. If it’s a short section like a lanyard or a cambium saver you can easily sweat it by hand and remove the possibility of it sweating after being spliced.
Great vid, made one of these a while back but I did a double eye splice with ocean poly on the small ring, it was a pain to bury!! This looks lots easier haha. Unrelated, Have you ever done a courant canopa splice? Just picked some up and realized it is not a traditional 16 strand construction
I’ve had my hands on some Kanopa and I had the same issue. I found the patent for the splice, which is pretty close to instructions. It’s more complicated like a double braid splice.
Videos like this will help people for years to come! Sweet editing.
WOW. I feel like I'm in the stone age at my line clearance tree company. Thank you for posting this stuff.
Fantastic content, thank you! Sweet little helper you have there!
ฉันอยากจะประกบตาแบบนี้บ้าง แต่ฉันไม่เก่งเลยที่จะทำแบบนี้ วีดีโอดีมาก ❤
