- Two 3-door German hatchbacks going at it around a very wet circuit; same age, same cylinder count, similar power, both NA, one auto + 4WD, the other manual and RWD 😎

This was the last wet session of the day. really slippery, an exercise in throttle finesse! After lunch, it was warm, dry, and sunny though, so I finally got to find out what this Porsche Cayman is all about 😎
Nice video look like you guys had fun 😂
looks like a fun day and the bit of rain adds to that
I have the tt vr6 in manual it’s great but the all wheel drive system is front bias it’s not the real Quattro system it’s good and this car is great just for the sound it makes 😊
Really good video Mark! I was still getting to grips with the lines at the start and losing speed on some of the corners, but that improved following in your tyre tracks for the second half. You definitely kept me on my toes trying to keep up 😬
Quattro power babie. God damn.
“I completely expect not to lose him”
987 cayman is like scalpel cut through those corners 👌
I like these type of videos, more please 👍😁
Will do, there's plenty more to come 👍
@@MarkCup70 I thought the editing was good switching to rear view, I like to hear about strengths and weaknesses of particular models and that TT was much faster than I expected even though it was wet and has 4 wheel drive but then I don't know who was piloting it and their experience.
We managed a dry run later in the day, that was a good session! It's about a week away before I'll get to edit that one though.
And also you’re clearly a much better driver than the guy in the TT 👍🏻
If I remember correctly you said this 2.7 is a six speed for a particular reason, could you remind me what to look for as I found the five speed in previous 986 2.7 to have poor ratios and I quite fancy a six speed 987
The 6MT came as part of the Sports Package which gave you the six-speed 'box along with PASM, so if the car doesn't have PASM it's almost certainly a five-speed. The shift pattern indicator on top of the shift lever is polished aluminium for the 6MT and it's black on the 5MT. Be aware the ratios are still broadly similar, 1-2-3 are the same and top gear (5th on the 5MT and 6th on the 6MT) are also as good as identical. What the six-speed does is split the long 4th from the 5MT into a much shorter 4th and 5th on the 6MT. This helps on track as 3rd on both cars runs out just past 100mph, so the shorter 4th on my car drops it right back into the meat of the peak torque RPM range. For just road use, I wouldn't worry about making the 6MT a priority unless, like me, you love shifting and rev matching just for the hell of it 🤣👍
@@MarkCup70 very detailed answer Mark, thanks for taking the time. I would be hoping to use one for track use so that’s good to know.
I have the same TT they are amazing in the wet 😅 sometimes doesn’t feel like 250bhp being honest feels a bit sluggish sometimes
I thought they had 265 Hp I have one myself and a 2.7 981 cayman
Love it as per haha
Cayman it’s a great car,
But the guy driving the tt it’s a slower and less confident driver than you…
Change cars and then we are going to see the difference😃
A stock 3.2 Audi TT has 265 Hp
This is not tts. Way slower than tts :D
TTS only comes in 2.0 TFSI (8J and 8S). I think that's just a 8J TT 3.2 quattro.
